I don't know why everyone is bashing Madden 2006 - while the improvements over last year don't seem like much on the surface, the game-play is MUCH improved in my opinion. I barely played 2005 because many aspects of the game felt awkward (I literally ended up reverting back to a previous version), but with 2006 everything just seems a bit more fluid and fun. If you didn't like 2005, 2006 is worth the money.
On a side note, the new quarterback viewing feature isn't that great, but at least you have the option to turn it off. I have a feeling once I've mastered the game I'll give it another chance and it could be kind of neat.
This Game Sux period point blank
THis game is for little kids it is so poor the graphics are bad the running is bad the passing is bad it looks very unrealistic
bring back NFL 2K series please those where so much better madden is for little kids who want an easy game to play its the most unrealistic sports game next to all of the new basketball games which suck too
Madden 2006 is great. Overall it is upgraded and just better all around. I like how each QB has a unique view. When a QB is throwing a pass where the QB is looking affects the pass. If the pass is thrown in the QB's vision it is thrown well. If the pass is outside the vision it is thrown poorly. This makes the game much more realistic. Another thing that improves passing is precision passing. When throwing a pass you can select where it is thrown. This can be useful when a defender is close by. If there is a defender running right behing him you can choose to throw the ball in front of the reciever. You can also throw the passes down low, up high, or right behind them. This makes it more fun on offense. I really like the new truck stick a lot. When about to run into a defender, you can push the right thumbstick up which will make the player lower his shoulders and hit the defender hard which will help break tackles. My number 1 favorite for this game is the smart routes. In the old games I would have a reciever run a good route just to catch the ball short of the first down. Now you can have a reciever run a smart route which will make the reciever run past the first down mark so you don't come up just a little short. This is very useful on third down.
On defense you have a few more options. One of them is whether or not you want to use manlock. When a play is about to start, if a reciever moves his position manlock will come into play. If you have it off everyone will shift over one man. So instead the guy who was covering the reciever is now covering the tight end, and the guy covering the tight end is now covering the reciever. However, with manlock on they will follow the reciever they were covering in the first place which will help prevent mismatches. This even works if you are using zone. Which could make the offense think you are playing man to man. There are also a few other new options on defense which I still have to mess around with.
Live is decent but it's not the best game I've played live on. I may have just missed a few things on it. Graphics are very good. A few negatives include that there are so many things you can do that its taking me a while to get used to everything. Also I'm not very fond of John Madden sitting there using the same comments over and over and over again. This gets very boring to listen to. I haven't played it too much so there might be a lot of comments this time and I just haven't heard them all. Overall, I think Madden is very good and a lot of fun to play.
YES. I am still playing ESPN 2K5 because it is still the best gridiron game on the market. I rented the new Madden and I want my $5 back. You would think with how popular ESPN 2K5 was that the clowns at EA would have stolen some of the graphics, animations or ideas from the game. But noooooo! They stay with the same old formula with a few different ideas (i.e. QB vision) which stinks. I can't believe I actually got my hopes up for this game.
We can only hope they will improve this game for the release on the XBox 360 and PS3.
I think some of the detractors are missing the point.
Madden 2005 is undeniably great, but it is time to try some new things with some really useful additions.
The best one for me is, you can finally set your receivers to go the necessary yards in any pattern to go the necessary yards for a first down! That alone beyond extremely useful!
O.k, so quarterback vision isn't so great. Shut It Off!
EA is pro active in trying new things to make a better gaming experience.
If you spend time with it, it WILL win games for you.
The truck stick is the hit stick, except you running back gets to flatten someone. Great addition!
Your offensive line is now fully adjustable to allow for the best pass protection.
There is an audible mode where you select the X button, right thumbstick for a long pass, short pass, play action, or run WITHOUT your formation changing. The defense is not tipped off when you are change the play, and you can get some great mis matches. That was a great idea!
Defense is improved by selecting the back you want to double cover with, and slides your linebackers and corners into better position to defend.
Madden 05 was almost perfect. This game made some changes. Some great, some not great. You do have the option of turning them off, or not using them, so no harm done.
At least they're trying to keep it interesting.
Some folks are wondering, "Where are the cheerleaders?" You're kidding right? Dude, when they come on, should we leave the room for you?
C'mon, man I'm playing football here!
Great game with some innovative additions; all of which you can shut off, or not use.
Oh, and if you're I'm not looking for a cyber peep show...go buy a calendar or something.
yes for all those who are hoping this game will be great you are corect, its a very good game and fun over all. Its alot harder than 05 alot longer and alot beter. The new qb vision which was the big new feature this year is great it makes it very chalenging and not so easy 2 just bomb the ball all over the field, u have 2 be precise and kno what route ur wr is taking or u end up intercepting it. So it takes alot more skill this time they also added smaller things like the truck stick which is great for running backs to smash through the defense and break tackles its prety much the hit stick but for the ofense it realy helps alot,and of course the grahpics are fresh and crisp looking with great features and the details around the stadiums look alot beter and also the crowd is more realistic looking.But for me over all the best new feature is the superstar mode which makes a whole new game out of madden it alows u to go from rags to riches after alot of hard work and practice, u start out as a rookie fresh from college and you have to get agents,endoresments and also take an iq test and do interviews,its all about ur popularity and how good they think u look. The beter you do on the field obviously the more they like u and talk about you and then u start to get endorsments and deals with big companys.The apartment feature is very cool also to go and save and check out ur website with stats and reminders, you also can go into the city and work out, get tats,style ur hair and visit your agent.So i said theres many new features and its like a whole new game from 05 and a much beter game its very fun very long and very dificult so its worth the 50$ for sure. If u like football at all buy this game now!
This game is awesome! You have lots of freedom in this game. You can customize your superstar to be fat or skinny, short or tall, white or black, muscular or like a stick. The graphics are great. The gameplay is great too. Sometimes you might get the feeling that you're in the game! If I were you and if you had an XBOX, I would TOTALLY BUY THIS GAME!
Jameson Thottam on Madden NFL
There are things and people that certain people love to hate. Some people hate the Yankees (like yours truly). Some people hate the infamous genre of music known as emo (again, like me). And when you delve into videogames, the massive company known as Electronic Arts (better known as EA), is getting more and more haters.
And yet, I'm not one of them. Me, I still love EA's sports titles and a few of their adventure and shooter games. Yes, they've virtually eliminated the competition in the NFL market by buying the license, but as long as they make good use of it, I don't really care.
But I'm talking about a game that was made BEFORE they bought that license: Madden 2005. And I still play it. And I still like it.
Gameplay: Off the Field *Jameson Thottam
As you might have guessed, this is a football game. Football is the great American game where the object is to score more points than the other guy by running the ball into the end zone or kicking it between the goalposts. But if you're reading this review, you probably already knew that.
This game has your standard set of modes: Play Now to play now, Franchise to run a team, Online, which I don't have, and several others. But Franchise is the meat of it.
The Basics ^ Jameson Thottam ^
Basically, you pick a team (real or created, more on that later) and you decide either to play Owner Mode or not. If not, you have the option to create a coach, although it doesn't do much for the game. If you do, you have to try to make a profit along with the task of getting the Super Bowl. You do that by controlling the prices of tickets, food, merchandise, parking, advertising, all that stuff. If you need a big boost, you can hold a Fan Appreciation Day once per season and give away stuff, attracting larger crowds. Of course, the chief seller is victories. If your team is good for 11 wins and a playoff berth about every year, the dollars will flow in steadily. Start losing, though, and you'll be in serious financial trouble. If it gets too bad, you could be forced to move or rename your team, although this hasn't happened to me yet. It did happen to my friend, though, after he won the Super Bowl. Odd.
Businessmen @Jameson Thottam@
Whatever mode you pick, you have to perform the typical duties of the businessmen in sports. There is a Free Agents pool (whose member's contracts can easily be manipulated into cheapness), an annual draft (so far, decent at producing talent in the first round, but few other players are even getting PT for me), and trades, of course. But the trades can get pretty annoying. There's a meter onscreen that tells you how interested the other team is in the trade. See, if you start demanding too much for too little, the team will lose interest. That would be fine if it wasn't virtually impossible to win on a trade. You almost always have to lose something to get a quality player, even if the other team badly needs, say, a running back, and you're offering one only slightly lower-rated than the player you want. Draft picks, on the other hand, are easy pickings: ask for a 1st-rounder for a 90 -rated player, and bingo, you got it. Teams are much stricter in reality with these things. Look at how little the Bills got for trading Travis Henry, an excellent back. Oh well, you can get around it with enough tries.
Stay Happy !Jameson Thottam!
Now, you have to also keep your players happy by giving them the right contract and playing time. MVP candidates always want a lot of money and PT, while third stringers usually want a ton less. However, if your 99-rated QB gets benched for too long, as it happened to me, he'll get unhappier and unhappier, eventually till he gets to the point where he promises to leave. (Good riddance to Matt Hasselbeck. He was really starting to reek.) On the other side, you have the option of naming a deserving player team captain, but I don't think it adds much to the game.
Storyline = Jameson Thottam =
Also new this year was the Storyline Central feature. This contained three things: Email, Newspaper, and Tony Bruno's radio show. The first one is kinda handy on how your team is running, especially during progression weeks (the weeks where players' stats can improve or decline). The second is pretty fun, but lame and repetitive at times. And the third is utterly pointless. Tony just does nothing except interview certain players and ask trivia questions amidst clips from the game's soundtrack. Trust me; just leave the music on and Tony off. You'll thank me later.
Other than that, there are several other parts of Franchise: you can hold Practices, review your gameplan and the other team's, and you can check stats and rankings, like how many Pro Bowl votes your super running back has. Now the other modes....
MOdes [ Jameson Thottam ]
There are several "Create-A..." modes. There's my personal favorite, Create-A-Team, where you make everything from the name to the jersey to the stadium. And you can kick out another team to use the created team in Franchise mode. (Finally, Dallas gets theirs!) There's Create-A-Player, which is also very detailed, but the only way to use them in Franchise is to create them before the Franchise starts, put him on Free Agents, and draft him in a Fantasy Draft (or sign him if Fantasy Draft is off). It shouldn't be that hard, especially since I spend about 80% of my time on that game in my Franchise. Create-A-Fan is a feature I haven't yet explored, but I've heard it's pretty pointless. Create-A-Playbook is fun, however. You can have a maximum of 81 plays: created, borrowed from the playbooks from the game, or a mix of both. I like how complex it goes in some points (like receiver routes and blocking schemes), but there are several flaws: no play-actions, halfback passes, or reverses allowed. Pity. Finally, there's the aforementioned Create-A-Coach, but that's nullified if you want Owner Mode on, which I recommend.
As far as connecting to other games, you can import draft classes from EA's college football title, the name of which has slipped my mind. And I said, I don't have online play. There is also Collector's Edition of the game, which I also don't have. Overall, the game is solid in off-the-field gameplay, with only minor flaws.
Gameplay: On the Field == Jameson Thottam
No matter how good the modes are, what really matters is the game itself. Personally, I think Madden is stronger here than the other department. Here's the breakdown:
On offense, the Playmaker Control introduced in Madden 04 has been expanded. What the control does is allow you to control receiver's routes and tell your blockers to block somewhere else to open a hole. While I'm usually too busy hitting other buttons to use the latter, I constantly use the former, before and during the play. Yes, during. That completely changes the passing game. This hasn't happened to me, but just picture it: You've got TO running a screen and the other team is blitzing the house. You snap the ball and you see yards of open field in front of TO, but like a good boy, he's running his route. Flick the right stick, chuck it to Terrell, and watch the yardage roll. Yeah. Awesome. Also, if you want to change the receiver's route before the play without revealing it to your friend, just flick the right analog stick and there you have it.
Other than that, though, there's not much new on offense. The passing system is just the basic "each receiver has a button over his head, press that button, hit that receiver" system that still gets me plenty of picks due to my annoying focus on my primary receiver. (I wonder how bad I'd do in Madden 06 with the QB Vision...) Running also isn't too new; just the standard mix of sprints, stiff arms, and jukes and the spin, the use of which I still haven't found. It works, though.
Defense " Jameson Thottam "
Now, defense...that's a whole new ballgame. The Playmaker Control was available for last year's game, but now it's more complex. Finally, you can change individual player's duties without changing the whole play. You can double-team players with just a few presses. Need an extra guy in coverage? Get your blitzing linebacker to play a QB spy, or just the opposite, depending on your situations. You can even change the direction of blitzes to go to the outside or inside, or left or right. Awesome. My nitpicks: you can't get two cornerbacks to double-team, only safeties. And you also can't linebackers to play deep...well, that makes sense, but still, you can't even get them to play their version of deep zones. Still, it's very clever and adds more depth to the game. But when you get to the higher difficulties (All-Pro and All-Madden, but I'm currently still in the former; the other two modes are Rookie and Pro), you better be right, or someone's going to be making reservations for six at the house at the corner of End and Zone. (Man, that's fun to say!).
However, the game's most famous addition was the Hit Stick. Basically, this allows you to hit substantially harder with a quick right stick tap (and I mean quick; I have a theory that the longer you hold it, the weaker the hit). Supposedly, that's supposed to increase fumble forcing, but it hasn't for me. It's still fun to use, though. Very fun. Especially on quarterbacks.
Graphics \ Jameson THottam \
Visually, this game is pretty solid. The player details are colorful, crisp, and accurate and they move fluidly. I love the little details the game gets right: if you're playing from, say, 4:00 to 7:00, the game will shift into dusk at a certain point; kudos to EA for that. What isn't worthy of kudos is how penalties are called. You get a facemask penalty, but the replay shows you never hit him. In the same game, the other team can obviously grab the mask and there'll be no call. Very annoying.
One feature definitely worth noting: let's say you're down by one and you're on the other team's twenty with only a few seconds left. You send in the kicker to get the field goal. But when you kick him, you don't have the game's standard camera. You're looking up from the turf, like a ground camera. The kicker's heartbeat rumbles in your controller. And it becomes harder to kick (or is that just me...never mind). When you finally get it off, the football goes in s l o w m o t i o n until it finally goes between the uprights or off to the side. That was a brilliant move by EA and I hope it's in 06.
Sound | Jameson THottam |
The game's music is all licensed, but it isn't as strong as the previous year's. This year is a mix of punk, hardcore, and rap, like 04, but that game had better rap and punk tunes. This version's punk and rap tunes are mostly horrific. In punk, there's the utterly atrocious Green Day hit "American Idiot", and every rap song is average or below. And putting The Hives in was an awful idea. But still, the hard rock tunes are great, particularly Strata's "Piece by Piece" and Chevelle's "The Clincher". All told, the music still beats Tony Bruno's pointless radio show.
On the field, the sound effects are well-done and sound realistic enough, although sometimes you'll be hit with an excessive barrage of shouts from the defense for no reason whatsoever. And the commentary gets old really fast. As my friend put it, John Madden may be a great announcer, but he's awful in the game. And his counterpart Al Michaels is no better, especially when they call the ball spot wrong. But I keep it on, just for realism and habit's sake.
All told, I found Madden 2005 to be a great game that you get addicted to quickly, especially when all the controls become familiar. While there are flaws present, there is enough to make this a solid game. Definitely a worthy buy, especially with 06 coming out, so it'll probably be cheaper and more accessible.
Jameson Thottam
Man this game is awsome! I love the new QB Vision feture, it let's you see the Wide Reciver or Tight End your passing to without a problem. Depending on how good your QB is the wider the QB Vision will go. They did a great job on my player in the game!
After vowing not to buy another EA Sports Football game after I completed Madden/NCAA 2003, I finally broke down and bought both of them. After finally becoming bored with the 2003 editions I simulated my final seasons and so I could start fresh with a brand new game.
I thought long and hard before I got this game. I remembered how much 2003 frustrated me, and never wanted to go through that again. Before I bought this game I rented it to see if it was even worth considering. I played a few exhibition games and was pretty satisfied with the visual and game play improvement over 2003. After returning the game I finally decided to buy it three weeks later.
Before I continue I must mention that there is a playoff bug in Madden that has been there since 2003. It involves the Divisional matchups in the postseason. The game bases the Divisional matchups on team record and not playoff seeding. This may not always be the same if it so happens that a divisional winner has a worse record than the 5th or 6th seed playoff team. I sent my findings to EA, they responded saying that they will send it to the Dev team, but no word it is fixed or will be fixed. I recently got a response from a rather rude rep telling me to "hope it does not appear in next year's version" So much for great customer service and support.
Coincidently the above scenario just occured in real life with the Steelers and Pats winning their wildcard games last weekend. I simulated the entire NFL season in madden to match the actual regular season and wild card results. And not suprisingly, Madden has the Pats playing the Colts and the Steelers playing the Broncos in the Divisional playoffs; when in reality, the Pats are playing the Broncos and the Steelers are playing the Colts.
In simulating the season, I also discovered that there is another playoff error that does not follow the NFL tiebreaking procedures. I discovered that Madden gave Tampa Bay the #2 seed and 1st round bye over Chicago, despite the fact that Tampa Bay lost to the Bears in the regular season. In actuality, the Bears have the #2 seed. Madden is wrong here as well.
so much for being "In the game"
Anyway back to the game.
Graphics/Visuals
=====================
Graphically the game is much improved over 2003, the players move better, look better and the stadiums look better as well. In addition to this, all teams have all there uniforms that they have used. The Dolphins have their orange uniforms as well do the Bears. The Jaguars and Eagles also have their black uniforms. Thank you EA! The 49ers also have an all gold uniform that I never seen. Although limited, tou can also create custom uniform for you team in Franchise mode, but be warned, once you create a uniform, you cannot delete it. It doesn't really cause any problems, because you don't have to ever use them, but if your playing Franchise, your team news will constantly say that your team has "new Threads" that will be unveiled. I haven't found out a way to delete the custom uniforms, other than starting a brand new franchise. I probably will just deal with it knowing never to do that again when I switch teams. Another thing I must mention about the custom uniform is that you CANNOT put the team logo on the helmet which is pretty lame. So if you have the Falcons and create a custom uni, the closest you can get to the helmet is creating a black helmet.
Madden added new player animations and also fan animations, adding to the realism of the game. This is a welcome addition to a rather bland 2003 in this department.
Sound
=======================
Sound-wise the game is improved over 2003, another cool feature they added is that you can now play your custom CD tracks from your XBOX hard drive in the game. While I don't think they will play during an actual game, they do play on the game menu's and even during training camp drills. The hits sound good as do the crowd, getting more true to life. Michaels and Madden have some new dialog, but for the most part they are carried over from past games, and still repeat themselves.
Controls
=========================
Like NCAA for some reason EA decided to almost completely revamp the button assignments, if you are used to past Maddens then this will certainly frustrate you to no end until you get used to the new layout, a good thing though is that you can change it back to past Madden button assignments.
The game also seems a lot more fluid and have more control this time around, In 2003, players sometimes seemed to run like they had lead in their shoes, and other times, they moved like they were on ice. 2006 improved this by making the game faster with more fluid and precise movements.
New Features
=========================
Madden added quite a few new features in this game, some I will never play probably, and others that are very fun in my opinion.
Superstar mode seems to be the main feature that EA focused on this year. Basically you become an NFL player and control his life on and off the field, from getting haircuts to starring in movies. Eh, OK, not my type of thing, but may be very fun for someone who is into the role playing aspect of this. For me I just want to play football with some interaction with my players, but to my Superstar seems to go a little overboard. It may be something I mess around with later, but not right now.
QB Vision / Precision Passing
===============================
QB Vision is basically a Love it or Hate it aspect. For me I am in the "Love it" group. This adds another depth of realism to passing that rewards you for making right decisions and punishes you for making bad ones just like in real life. The better vision your QB has (ie, Peyton Manning, Brett Farve), the wider his "field of vision" will be. New QB's or QB's with not so good vision, will have a small field of vision. As long as you throw to a receiver in your field of vision, you can then place the pass where you want it. If you throw out of the vision cone, then you cannot place it and worse yet your defender can pick it off. Defenders can use the field of vision to there advantage as well, if they see you are keying on the same receiver too much, then they can act accordingly. QB Vision can be turned off if you like. But I plan to leave it on. Another cool thing about this is as you QB gets better in franchise mode his field of vision becomes wider.
Improved Franchise Mode
========================
Since this is where I will spend most of my Madden time, this is the most important part of the game to me. First off, the Franchise mode incorporates training camp drills. At the start of every season you can choose one player to participate in the training camp drills from past Maddens, depending on how well you do you get points to add to your player's attributes. Very cool.
Another cool thing is that Madden now has national and local newspapers for every team in the league basically reporting on the team's current news. In addition to this, there is also a weekly radio show by Tony Bruno that talks about the current weeks events, complete with callers from current NFL coaches, fans, and he even has trivia questions. While it doesn't take long for this to repeat itself, it does help keep you involved. If you don't pay too much attention to it, then you probably won't even notice.
You are also involved with your players. You can check each player to see their moral and if they are happy. For stat buffs like myself you can get nearly every bit of information you want about a particular player, like College attended, draft year, Round picked, number picked etc. Hopefully this will also apply to players drafted from NCAA 06.
Like 2004 and 2005 (which I never played) you can set your ticket prices, food prices etc. But I won't mess with that too much.
Another cool thing is that you can relocate your team to another city, redesign your stadium, rename your team etc. Another thing I probably won't mess with but a pretty cool feature.
Also as mentioned before you can create new custom uniforms for you team, but this is very limited in the colors you can choose from and the fact that you can't put your teams logo on the new helmet. Another frustrating thing is that once you create a custom uni, it is there forever, even if you never use it; there is no way to delete it.
Over all this game is an improvement over 2003. Not a bad game at all, and the actual game play is pretty fun. But Madden still has a ways to go to match the excellence of NCAA Football 2006. The come back AI is still there, and those not quite as bad as 2003, there are still BS catches in which the ball seems to be magenetically attracted to the CPU's hands changing directions in mid air to end up end it's hand's rather than yours. Your defenders still dive in the wrong direction while trying to make a tackle. The CPU still moves your defenders across the line to get enchroment calls, when they reall need free yardage. I must also mention that the punting game seems to have actually declined from 2003. Your teammates will NEVER block for you on a punt return. TWO of your guys will let ONE person from the other team right through and knock the bejesus out of you. If you are leading or if its a close game, this will almost always cause a fumble which they will pick up and run into the endzone. I HATE this part of the game. I don't know what EA was thinking here.
Also the playoff bug that I mentioned earlier is very frustrating, they say its "in the game", but how could they miss that? Granted it doesn't occur every time, but the QA Department should have caught this and sent it back to Development. Since this bug also appears in 2003, that means it has not been caught by them for over 4 years...unacceptable. This and other minor bugs and flaws cause me not to be able to give this game a better rating.
While I am fairly satisfied with this game, I will still not resort to buying EA's football games every year. In my case 2006 is a big improvement over 2003, but for those who have 2005, I highly doubt there is much improvement to warrant a brand new purchase. The only way I would get 2007 is if they fix the playoff bug and tie together the other loose ends in this game.
I'm a football fan, wether is fantasy football, playing football or football video games. Unfortunately the cowards at EA brought exclusive rights to the NFL license thereby eliminating the competition. Madden 2006 is a good but not great game. The QB "flashlight" is a realistic addition, although it's akward at first. Gameplay is pretty good although the running game is still pretty difficult on higher levels. Graphics are mediocre and still can't compare to NFL 2K5 or probably 2K4 for that matter. The presentation is O.K and the commentary is downright horrible. Madden and Michaels says the same old B.S and it sounds garbled like an 8 track, while we are in the MP3 generation. I mainly play vs. the computer in preparation to play online. I guess the Franchise and create a Superstar is o.k. but it's not my thing. Anyway. Madden 2006 isn't bad, but but I just expected more.
Just think about this for a second. I play Madden NFL 06 on my Xbox and I love it. However, when I tried playing a previous Madden, I didn't like it. The reason is because EA Sports has done a complete overhaul on the passing game this year. It's QB Vision and Precision.
Although V and P is hard at the beginning (I know, it was hard for me), once you get the hang of it, you can unleash it on unexpecting victims for long yardage plays and touchdowns! The biggest thing about it is if you look at your receiver, you can throw precise passes that literally CANNOT be caught by defenders if used correctly. Combine that with the new Truck Stick system, which allows you to hit defenders that are in front of you, and you are pretty much ready to beat computers at the Pro level.
However, if you are on the OTHER side of the football, you will notice that there are not really any visible features. It's still good, but we know what EA Sports was working on this time around.
Also, a new feature called NFL Superstar has been created. Those of you with NCAA Football 06 will find this mode very similar to Race for the Heisman on your game. You create an NFL player (either a Legend from NCAA 06, a player from NFL Street 2, or from scratch) and you try to make them an NFL Legend. Although this may be great for those people wishing to get into all this technical stuff, those of you that just want to dive into the Madden action might not appreciate all the work needed.
All the other features and modes of Madden 2005 also make their returns in this game.
This is a very good game. You will REALLY get a treat if you have Xbox Live. Although there are some modes that some people may not like all that much, there is pretty much something in there for everyone.
Because EA Has A Multi year deal with the NFL You Would think they would go all out with Madden. No cheerleader presentations,they added that goofy alt #4 helmet in the equipment selection QB Passing is ok if you have a great QB. EA Doesn't program the Thanksgiving day throwback uniforms. And durning the playoffs they don't add the logo on the fields. EA all I can say is wake up!!!!!!
i never really liked sports games and my friends had me try madden 05 and i thought it was pretty fun. I also watch a lot of football to and i needed a party game and found that this did the job. If your new to the madden series great game and the added stuff from 05 is pretty cool too.
