I don't have this game yet, but it's looking great. Just as good as the PS2's Dead or Alive 2. I hope that DOA3 has a storyline that is worth having. I don't like fighting games that don't have storylines on why they are fighting. Anyway, the graphics are so good in this game that if I didn't know any better, I'd say that these characters were either real people or characterized after real people. The XBOX is using the power that they have for this next-gen console, unlike they are doing for some games that they have coming out. I am looking forward to this game. I've heard that you can smash your opponents through walls...I hope so!!! I hope that this review has helped you on the choosing for your games on the XBOX...
It's very realistic.....everything! The fighting environments are fantastic. It is a getter and a keeper! I got my XBOX and had to choose which game.... good thing I got this one!!!! It DA BOMB! DOA3 Rocks!
I strongly feel this is the best fighting game out to date. Fighting games first off are not for everyone, as stated earliar, all you do is mass buttons until the other guy falls down or you do. However, it is a blast, and very very enjoyable. The game is very short however, so if you dont have friends who come over regularly, dont plan on this to be a very long single player.
The greatest thing about this game to me is not the graphics, but the realistic fighting. There is not jumping about and doing a dumb circle flip every single time you jump... Come on, how old is that? Would you see that in a real fight? someone just doing flips every time they jumped? ANd how many people honestly fight like frogs? jumping up and down? Few from my knowledge atleast.. This game is not "realistic" for you take far more punishment than a human body could take, but it is far far far more realistic than any fighting game i have ever played. Each characters fighting styles are based on real life fighting styles, and feature hundered + moves, and excellent animation on each.. No "ok, player 1 kicks, player 2 hits block then throw.. uh oh, since player 1 kick is lower than what the block animation is supposed to animate, 'teleport' player 1's leg into player 2's hands" no no no, none of that. If the kick of a burly character is lower than say a nimble female fighter, there is no teleportation to make the animation correct, it just actually does the correct animation needed. Player 2 lowers his stance or actually reaches down to grab that lower kick. Oh, and the graphics rock.
This game is awesome. It really shows off the Xbox graphics and power. I was blown away by the graphics and the fighting. No lag at all, and very clear polygons. Excellent game.
Awesome fighting game, you can button mash, but if you get good at it you can waste any button masher. The graphics are totally awesome, especially the CG movies for each of the characters, not to mention its got really, good looking, ladies on it, and this could be a warning, or, an attraction to the game for some people, but one of the new characters has a CG movie that shows some, skin, and more than what you'd expect, the entire backside, without any coverings, and a bit uncovered from the side. Then the rest of the movie is her walking around in her underwear watching tv. Just remember. She kicks high...
I LOVE THIS GAME CAUSE IT REMINDS ME OF KILLER INSTINCT GOLD. THE GRASPHICS IN DOA3 ARE UNBELIEVEABLE. INSTEAD OF PLAYING IT SOME TIMES I'D CHOOSE TO JUST VIEW IT IN THE WATCH MODE AND LOOK AT THE MOVES THEY USE. TO ME DOA3, ES3:MORROWIND,TUROK:EVOLUTION,AND HALO HAVE DEFINED WHAT A GREAT GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE ON A CONSOLE SYSTEM. LETS SEE IF THE GAME DEVELOPERS FOLLOW THEIR PACE AND GIVE US SOME THING BETTER. IF THEY DON'T OR CAN'T VIDEO GAMES ARE FINISHED.
Let me get this out of the way, DoA is GORGEOUS! Moving on, DoA is a good buy for your X-Box, if not for the fighting, at least for the graphics! If you have never played a DoA game before and are expecting anything close to Soul Calibur or Virtua Fighter, be warned. While DoA is a great game for button mashers and first-time players, it leaves little for the TRUE fighting game enthusiasts to bite on. After the initial shock of the eye-melting visuals subsides, you are not left with much. The fighters are hollow and don't have nearly as much attacks as other fighting games. That said, the game's reversal system is extremely smooth and satisfying, though much too easy when it comes to timing the counters. The reversal system is based more on luck than actual skill, decreasing the game's longterm value. The sound is equally hollow and is made up of lifeless grunts and yells. Being the fighting game player that I am, I am very strict about how complex I want games to be and my expectations are high. But for the casual fighting game players, add another star to my score and buy the game. The graphics alone are reason enough to purchase this game and show your friends why X-Box is the UNDESPUTED champion when compared to the other consoles!
Wow... This is the best freakin game I have ever played (aside Halo) You get some hot women that equal their bounce with my women. The moves are awesome and it will be treasured for a long time. (IF you get it, don't rent, just buy)
Truely a must own for any Xbox owner. This game really starts to push the Xbox with its high processing power, and truely gorgeous graphics, the game's detailed to the teeth, and if I were to buy an Xbox, this would be my first game. A brilliant fighter reborn on a new system, with its fresh graphics and gameplay, a must own, no questions.
I like the game, but admittedly it is not overly deep. They have a great graphics engine, and beautiful characters, but you can get away with a lot of button mashing. I believe most of the game designer's energy went into making sure (...) that the female characters underwear looks right from all angles. A good game for people that aren't good at fighting games, but probably a rental for most.
Dead or Alive 3 is a little better than DOA2 in every category. The graphics are a little better, there are more characters, you can play tag battle in many different modes, there is a hidden character unlike DOA2 and each character has at least three different outfits after you get the DOA3 booster disc. The only bad thing is that there are too many limitations in the game. On the watch mode, you should be able to play on several more stages and there should be a knockout feature so that all of the fights will not be continuous. You should be able to play on more stages for survival and team battle modes as well. Time attack mode should be affected by the difficulty level and you should be able to adjust the amount of rounds that you want to play. A soundtrack feature would also be something nice to have. So hopefully Tecmo will add more extra's to the game on a future booster disc.
Looking for a deep fighting game that will keep you coming back for more for months? Looking for a fantastic showcase of all that your XBOX can do? You'll find all these features and more in DOA3!
The graphics and effects are simply unbelievable. Never has a game looked or played this well on any home system. The lifelike moves and near-real backgrounds (I love the forest and the snow level where the snow actually crunches and deforms under the weight of your characters!!). A lot of time and effort was put into this title to ensure that it takes full advantage of the XBOX's powerful capabilities and they've succeeded on all counts.
How's the gameplay? One word...EXCELLENT! DOA3 will remind you of all those fun hours you invested to learn classic fighting games like Street Fighter II. You'll find yourself going back again and again to perfect your skills and to unlock the cool hidden movies and costumes. There are so many moves in this game its possible you may not see them all. The training mode is great too...especially the "exercise" mode where you are put through a test to execute each and every move of your chosen character.
One last thing...DOA3 is the first XBOX game to offer the bonus of add-ons. The latest issue of the OFFICIAL XBOX MAGAZINE has the booster pack which will add a new opening movie and over 20 new outfits to this already awesome game!
Every XBOX owner should have this title in their collection! An instant classic!!
A friend of mine introduced me to DOA2. This is no real change from it. I still like it tho. Having no real plot to speak of, (maybe something got lost in the translations to the English subtitles, who knows) the fighting is just as good if not better. The characters flow better and the moves are more complex. Perfect game to play with friends. As said before, no real point, just beat the (...) out of your emeny.
Dead or alive three is a very nice game the best thing about it is that it has grafics that look so real the people and the scenerey look like pictures and the stunts and game movments the people due is a little exaggerated but it looks hard to do must of those moves most proffesions may not know how but if you wanred a good fighting game for xbox and have reading reavies this is a game that you will love and i did to in the game there is a health bar that tells you your health so when you get hit it gos down a little other people you fight will have the same
efects There are 8 different tipes of fight in the game are karate, ninjitsu and 6 more ect i rated it the top because i have been playing the game know for onlt 4 days andlove i bought it on monday and i am already on very hhard because its mainly easy but fun i hope you have a fun time with the game thanks for reading my review.
This game is amazing many people have compared it to TTT(Teken Tag Tournament) for the PS2 platform, DOA3 easily beats it with the the highest quality graphics and sounds, the movies are amazing the multi-enviormental levels give this game the ultimate experience for XBox
