Best Xbox 360 - fast lots of storage 2 controllers and Modern Warfare 2 included.
Excellent price was shipped when promised
I love this console, it runs smooth and i haven't had any problems since it released. the hard drive is big enough to download games on so it runs quite and fast. when you download the games to the hard drive the graphics are smoother and over all loading speeds up alot. i can store all my music and videos with out having to get rid of any. I haven't even used half of the memory and i have countless games, music, and videos on the hard drive. live is great, especially if you have netflix to tie to your live account.
Wow! Right out of the Box Experience. System its very quite, runs very cool. Loading time is beyond my expectation., and the options right at my finger tips. The two remotes which are newly designed., make everything even better. The 250GB its the best for all my movies, music and saving all my gaming without the worries of loosing anything!! I'm very happy I waited for this new x-box experience. Overall, looks great and stylish. So much more to say, but gotta go and enjoy my limited edition Console.
This is the best deal in video games, I love it and am so happy that I was gifted it for my Birthday. You really cannot go wrong with this bundle, and if you already have an Xbox, you cannot go wrong with this game.
We bought the Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Console, the unit came with all needed accessories and has performed excellent except for the well known problem of circular scrathes that dstroys the game disk. We had this problem and had to learn the truth from a game manufacturer, not MicroSoft. Throughout this ongoing ordeal, Amazon customer service has been "outsatnding".
All things are as advertised. This is fun for the whole family. We also use it as our DVD and Netflix player.
Well, I'm reviewing the console here. Unfortunately I'm not much of a Console-FPS player, but I'll say this: Bloody good looking 360! It runs very cool, also aided by the fact you can install games to your heart's content with the big 250GB HDD. It spins up once the game is booking up, then the disk drive goes idle! Quiet as a whisper. If you're looking at this item, you probably already know everything you need to know about it. Couple of things I will point out: The headset is of the time that has the controls on the cable, which I don't like as much as the original which has controls that rest directly under the controller. Changing volumes and muting can be a bit of a hassle. This is probably not to get in the way of people who have a chatpad attached to their controllers already. The second thing is that the black controllers are the regular ones. They come with the double A battery compartments, not battery packs. If you want those, you'll have to buy them separately. I must say it looks tons better than the white one, but that comes down to your personal preference.
Hands down this is the best bang for your buck. You get everything you need at a decent price. Not to mention that Modern Warfare 2 is a fantastic game. If you don't have an xbox this is the combo deal for you, everything you need. Buy it now.
Did anyone get a Modern Warfare 2 console where it looked as if it has been resealed? (The outer clear factory seal on the box). There was a smaller seal on top of the original seal. Also, when I opened the box, the plastic bag had been re-taped. You could see where someone had lifted the tape from the plastic bag, and reapplied it.
So far I have owned 3 xboxs. The first one which I believe was the xenon chipset red ringed on me after a year. I waited a couple months and the zephyr came out (if I had waited longer I might have been able to snag an elite or a falcon model, at this time only 20gb and 120gb hard drives were common and I ended up with another 20gb HDD, about a couple weeks after this 60gb was announced as being shipped with consoles). The zephyr xbox was my second console, it was pretty similar to the first one a bit more noisy and just as hot, It lasted me up until now (2 years) but I had noticed its performance was deteriorating (slow load up, choppy when playing off the hard drive, and the console itself would get extremely hot even though it was well ventilated). One of my friends also bought an xbox a year later (unsure of whether it is a falcon or a jasper) and I noticed his console was very cool to the touch after being played for hours and was whisper quiet with the games installed to the hard drive. After this I considered buying a new console, then I heard about Call of Duty being released soon with:
250gb hard drive
2 wireless controllers
MW2 themed console
and a copy of Modern Warfare 2
(the usual, cables, power brick, etc.)
When I heard about this I was ecstatic and thought it would be an excellent upgrade to my old outdated xbox 360. I had been using the 20gb hard drive that had came with my xenon all this time, the buttons on 2 of my wireless controllers wouldn't work, my xbox would get really hot after only being on a few minutes, my brother also brought his PS3 to my house and we had a BLAST playing Modern Warfare2 and I wanted to pick up the game for my console. I started saving up my money immediately and sold my old xbox and 2 controllers. After finally getting the money saved up (the day after black friday) I went to the store and was very disappointed to find NOTHING was in stock ANYWHERE. I considered picking up the regular elite holiday bundle but decided against it as I had my heart set on installing the majority of my games to my 250gb hard drive (~17 games) 120gb was just not going to cut it for me. So I held off and came across this on amazon, I purchased it along with an HDMI cable. I am very happy I waited on this I feel that it was worth it. The package hasn't arrived yet but I will post an update as soon as I get it set up and take it for a run. The ONLY thing I wish it came with was a data transfer kit, now I have to go through microsoft to get one. Also for those reviewers that said you can't use hdmi and analog audio at the same time without buying a whole new cable, it isn't true. What I did was break the casing off an old xbox video cable and both fit in there fine and I can enjoy lag free audio in games such as rock band and guitar hero
I would like to start off by saying that I have owned a 360 from launch. Overall this is a great deal.
Comes with
- 2 Black wireless controls
- 250gb Hard drive
- Black mic
- special edition console
- power brick
- Regular red/white/yellow audio video cables (NO R/G/B)
- ethernet cable
- Modern Warfare 2 game
***DOES NOT COME WITH
HDMI cable - not a big deal since you can grab one online for less than $8 with shipping. I was a little surprised seeing that the last 2 elites I bought had the cable included.
HDMI AV Cable
Overall as a package it is a pretty good deal. You get a HUGE 250 gig hard drive, I believe it ends up being around 228gb of free space when you turn on your system. You get 2 controls instead of the usual 1, which is great if you have buddies or family to play with (don't hog all the fun!). On top of that you get Modern Warfare 2 which is a great game. I love the console as a whole it runs almost silent and very cool. It also looks awesome.
There is one thing i disliked about the deal though. That is it doesn't come with any HD video cables out of the box. Then it doesn't have the cable for HD audio (optical) in the box either. This wasn't a problem for me because I still had a pair of both these cables from another elite system I bought in the past. However, if i was a first time buyer might have been a little ticked that I basically have to buy a $50 cable package (Microsoft sells both their brand hdmi cable and the audio cable you would need in a package together for $50 Xbox 360 HDMI AV Cable ).
Overall I am VERY pleased with my purchase and plan to be for a long time to come.
Just a side note about xbox live I'm not sure that a lot of people know. When you buy a new system you get to create a gamer tag, most people assume you have to pay whatever the fee is to try xbox live out and play online. However when you create the gamer tag sign up for the silver membership. At the end of the process it will give you the option to upgrade to gold for 1 month for free. You can do this around 3 times i believe per system. Hope this helps a few people out that want to try out xbl for free.
You wont regret buying this!
For existing xbox 360 owners, it's probably not worthwhile to upgrade.
For new owners, this is a slam dunk. Console + 250Gb of HD + two controllers + headset + Modern Warfare 2... easy decision.
The colour scheme on the console is very well done... blends in well with the other dark equipment in my rack.
The game itself is awesome. Great playability, sound, graphics. Haven't done 2 play co-op yet, but looking forward to that.
Fan noise is relatively good, esp if you transfer the game to the HD.
All in all a great buy.
Let me start off this review by saying that I own all three current-gen systems (although this review will not be comparing them). Prior to purchasing this 360, I owned a falcon Elite (which I purchased for the HDMI and 120GB HDD), and prior to that, I owned a xenon Premium (which I sold due to its lack of an HDMI port). All of the MW2 360s are the new jasper chipset, which for the consumer essentially means that the 360 is quieter, runs cooler, and uses less energy (150w max vs 175w for falcon, and 203w for xenon/zepyher).
So how is the MW2 360? Well it's a better 360 than older ones, comes with more storage, and if you like what the 360 offers, then you will like this console more than the other 360 variants. If you don't like the 360, then the 360 page on Amazon is probably not the place for you. So to not drag on, here are some pros and cons of this specific bundle as compared to other 360 bundles:
Pros:
+250GB Hard Drive
+Extra Controller
+Free Modern Warfare 2 Game
+Smaller Power Supply (about 2/3-3/4 size of original PSU)
+Black Bezel (personal preference, I prefer black over chrome)
+Jasper chipset
Cons:
-Looks like someone spilled gray paint on console. (High speed, low drag? Joint Task Force? Seriously?)
-Doesn't come with HDMI cable or HDAV cable like previous Elite consoles. Has only a composite cable, which is pathetic; oddly no current-gen systems come with anything better than a composite cable.
-Audio adapter (with HDMI cable) is a $50 separate purchase. HDMI cables are cheap on Monoprice (and video quality is equal for all digital cables), but the audio adapter if you need to output the audio not via HDMI is a proprietary Microsoft cable.
Despite these cons, this bundle is still worth getting (and is the best value in comparison to other 360 bundles) if you're looking to buy an Xbox 360 console.
