This card is pretty simple to enter into either your computer [...] or over xbox live. A gold subscription gives you many added benefits over a silver including playing p2p over the xbox live tubes. There are a few games that use their own servers and do not require a gold membership to play however. Something to note if you only want to play your favorite game and it has a dedicated server.

So I know I'm kind of out of the loop so I figured I needed to buy an xBox 360 soon, so I did. A bunch of my friends are on it so obviously I needed to get the live account. I looked for a couple weeks to find a good deal on a 12 month account but they were upwards towards $50-65. OK, so I kind of have a story for why i bought this. For some reason, MS didn't renew my XBL membership automatically. Whenever you have it set to automatic renew, it is $10 cheaper, but since it dint, they were trying to charge me ten bucks more. I was pissed, and after a very frustrating talk with MS support, i decided to go look elsewhere. I checked out Amazon, and to my surprise they were selling it for a whole FIFTEEN BUCKS cheaper than MS, plus it came with $5 of free song downloads. Also i did the Amazon Prime trial, so I got free 2 day shipping. Luckily for me, the day i ran out of Live was the first day of a free 3-day XBL weekend, and I received my card on the Monday following, so essentially I never ran out of XBL, PLUS I saved $15. Xbox live is the best online experience i ever had! The connection is superior to other consoles of this gen, ps3 and wii. First of all, you'll need broadband internet and i recommend on getting a cheap ethernet cable for this. Second, Xbox live is very superior and does not lag a little bit. Lastly, you can invite your friend from all the way across the world to chat with the microphone or play with them in a multiplayer game instead of coming over to their house to play. There are a bunch of features that xbox live can do: netflix, zune video HD streaming, facebook and twitter. So its a good buy for any xbox 360 owner, I recommend on buying a 12 month subsciption for 49.99 plus a free month on Amazon or walmart, because it's a better deal ( about 4$ a month instead of a individual $7 a month ). I rated this 4 stars because it's in one of those hard to open package. There are some improvements to the card that i want to point out. There is no scratching off that stuff to reveal the code, you simply peel off a slit and imput a 25 digit code (oh god). In addition to buying this card then, also buy the 1600 points or the 4000 points because you'll have acsess to the live marketplace, where you can buy map packs, add ons to your favorite games, videos and much more exclusive stuff.
