This is a decent upgrade of Tiger Golf, but it's also starting to get very close to that territory of being a REHEAT of the last game! I'm not as down on the putting or 'Math' as some call it in Tiger 10. What blows my mind and has convinced me to NEVER buy another Tiger game... is EA's GREED!!! I'm done supporting a company that HOLDS BACK game content to CHARGE for it via DLC! It's one thing to offer special Clubs and fancy clothes as the content if someone's dumb enough to pay for it.... but to hold back GOLF COURSES in a GOLF game to then Charge for them is the last straw man! The Wii version which is cheaper in price has like 28 courses... while the 360 and PS3 versions that cost $60 only have 16 courses! Now you have to shell out $5.00 to $7.50 per course just to get what the Wii version has. It's totally ridiculous that our $60 bucks isn't enough to get the courses the Wii version got... and I'm totally done buying Tiger Woods Golf games EA. Tiger 10 could end up costing you $150 bucks by the time someone buys all the DLC courses. Way to kill the Golden Goose EA!

It's one thing when a game like Fallout 3 charges for new maps... or GTA charges for a totally new adventures etc... but for EA to purposely hold back COURSES from a Golf game to then charge for them is just flat out a S-bag move! It's the kind of greed that will eventually kill the video game business if we don't stop companies from this charging for DLC nonsense. Hopefully the Football is included on the disc with Madden 10!

I don't know what everyone is talking about but this game is awesome. The fixed putting thing works perfectly and i have never overshot or undershot by 20 yrds. I think the problem is the player not the game.

After playing Tiger since the beginning of the franchise, first on the PC and then on the different gaming platforms, I am an avid fan of the franchise. That said, I was skeptical that this game would be a rehash of last years game and was wondering if the money spent would be worth it. This game has got it all and then some. The graphics are a bit smoother than last years, and the controls are very well done. The real time weather will take me some getting used to, especially on the greens. I still haven't mastered how to gauge how hard to put when the green is soaked, but hey, who wants a game they can master after a day or two of playing?

If you have played the previous Tiger games, this is a definite improvement. If you have never played any of them, this is a must buy!

I've been a big fan of the Tiger PGA tour franchise from EA sports for some time. I fell in love with the game in the 2007 version, which was extremely enjoyable and pleasant to play. The 2008 version was also solid. It was more challenging than its predecessor but still enjoyable to play from the standpoint of creating a golfer.

With the above being said, I can say the following with all conviction: I absolutely HATE this new version.

Where to start? First off, as another poster has already commented on, exactly WHO at EA sports was responsible for the math algorithms in this new version? Not only is the math off, it is WAAAAAY off. To the point where the shots are no longer skill related, they are complete guess work.

Second, the new putting mechanism absolutely SUCKS. The preview is no where near as effective as the previous version, which was a very effective way for the new player to become familiar with the logistics of effective putting. Once again, the math is completely WAAAAY off using the putting widget. As an example, I have had many instances where, judging by the suggested distance measure provided by the putt display, you can either overshoot by HUGE amounts or bring your putt up short by a huge margin. Despite the fact that the slider bar gives a broad range of shot strength, the effective range is so narrow that you are literally threading a needle. I have no idea who at EA sports coded that, but they are clearly not a golfer.

The only cool things in this game are the rain effects and the extra courses. But that is it. If anyone is considering purchasing the XBox version, I would instead go for the 2009 version. You will have a much more enjoyable gaming experience. After dealing with the idiosyncrasies of this version, I finally gave up and instead purchased the 2009 version. (While simultaneously auctioning off my 2010 version on eBay to some poor schlep who I hope has more luck with this game than I did)

Two MAJOR thumbs down. And if anyone at EA sports is reading this review, please take note. This game is not going to score you points with your loyal fan base once word gets out. Either get a patch out there that will deal with the aforementioned problems or start working on a 2011 version that plays more like the 2009 versions and before.

My main beef is that they got rid of the old laugh-a-minute comentators, plus some of the opponents camera angles are iffy. but all-in-all another great Tiger game. The "Tourney Challenge" is very challenging indeed..im still trying to complete them all. DPM

Great golf game but things about this game still bug me. Why dont the golfers have caddies? Seriously, how hard would it be to render a caddy for the game? Two, you can play at he U.S. Open but you still cant play at the Masters or the British Open. Thats 2 of the 4 majors!!!!! 50 percent of the major championships you cant play!!!! Thats outrageous. Third, wheres Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, and other PGA pros??????? You can see their names on the leaderboards, on the game but they arent in the game????? I understand that EA has to pay Tiger Woods so much money to use his name an likeness and thats why they cant have Phil Mickelson and others, but the roster in this game is horrible. I would rather see them drop Tiger Woods and use that money to buy the rights to put other great golfers in the game. And use the rest of the money to buy the Augusta National course and put all the majors in the game. Next year, drop Tiger Woods and call the game PGA TOUR 11 and put all the majors in the game and more of the actual PGA tour roster and it would be a lot better.

I was a little concerned about the quality of this years game after playing the demo. After messing around with it for a few hours I am very impressed. The graphics seem a little better then 09. The terrain has more detail and the coloring seems a little more natural. Gameplay is pretty much the same as last year except for the new putting. I like the fact that it is easier to pull my putts left or right. Nice improvement. The new weather effects are also pretty cool. I am giving this 4 stars because I still can't create my own course. Maybe next year???

I have been playing tiger woods ever since I first got my xbox 360 back in 2005. I buy the game every year, and I like it more and more every time I play it. Tiger woods 09 was the greatest improvement, with a bunch of new features. This year I felt a little dissapointed because I was expecting much more from the game. However, the new courses are great. The live weather is also really nice, as well as the live tournaments. I love this game...

I have been playing, or should I say working on this game since it was released. I too have had seemingly inexplicable problems with the length of approach shots that were pretty predictable on 2009, but certainly are not on 2010. The putting is definitely a step backward as distance is largely a matter of guesswork. The game gives you the option of classic putting for most levels, but it is not the same modality that we used on TW 2009, and is not nearly as easy to use on 2010.

The Challenges are, at least for me, very hard. The pros play with a precision unknown in real life, rarely making a mistake. Some may be able to beat them, but it has been very difficult for me. There should be a greater reward if you make enough points than just unlocking additional courses, ultimately being able to play them on Play Now modes.

The new courses are great and the graphics excellent. The commentary is almost unlistenable. Scott Stiles should never have been selected as a commentator as his remarks are at best "campy" and at worst absurd.

If you have to choose between 2009 and 2010, go with 2009. Its just better.

While this game has some fun to it, EA Sports has never been known to go out of their way to fine tune a product and give it some polish, and certainly they rarely fix anything with a patch.

The computer golfers in this game are PERFECT. They NEVER miss a fairway, NEVER miss a GIR, and always 1 putt, with occasional 2 putt. Typically they shoot in the 50s, regardless of what course, what conditions. They are absolutely perfect and therefore no fun to play at all. I used to like doing a 'mixed doubles' in 2009 version, me team up with Paula Creamer (as I have a crush on her :-), not to mention shes a great golfer) and go against Tiger and Annika. Perhaps Best Ball, or some such. Great matches, sometimes close, sometimes we'd win big, sometimes they'd win big. Real genuine UNPREDICTABLE fun. Now in 2010, all of them are perfect, including Paula of course.

This year its hard to stay awake during such, all 3 or them, Paula included, are absolutely perfect. Yawn.

Re the Play the Pros, this is a great idea, but as usual EA leaves out some key things, why for instance are we not allowed on monday thru wednesday to play the course, practice like the real pros do, in live weather. We can do nothing until day 1. And you cannot practice most of the courses in the other part of the game, because most of the cousrses do not really exist.

If the course the real pga is playing that week, is not part of the game, EA makes up some conglomeration of holes from courses in the game, so #1 might be from Beth Page, #2 Pinehurst, #3 Pebble etc. Thus impossible to practice. How hard could it be for them to oopen up mon-wed so we can practice the 'made up' course they are using that week.

The greens are ludicrously fast, th precision putting, which you have no choice but to use in play the pros is good, but very difficult. Be prepared in play the pros to have a very hard time of it as you must play at the the top level "Tour Pro" All of that makes sense I guess in some way, though not sure why. Its not like we are competing online against anybody.

And as usual, no detail, you don't even see your stats at the end of a round, how many GIRs, how many putts, etc. STuff that is just standard everyday fare in any good golf simulation. When plyaing a computer golfer you never have any idea how far thier drive went, what distance they are from the pin, stuff a good caddy would be telling you. You also have no way of knowing the slope of a green you are hitting an approach to. Little details that EA Sports has never cared about and never will. They are market driven, get it out the door. Don't do anything extra to take more pride in your accomplishment.

Anyway, most of the stuff that was fun in 2009 has been ruined by the perfect computer golfers. Even the simulated pga tour is the same, everybody shooting in the 50s and low 60s. All in all I think 2009 is a better game. if it had precision putting, it would be about perfect.

I LOVED Tiger Woods '09 and pretty much mastered the thing. Don't get me wrong, I want new challenges. For $60 I don't want to just slide right in and start dominating right off the bat..... But I'd prefer legit challenges versus curve balls. Has no one else noticed that the math seems to be off, especially where approach shots are concerned? If I'm 100 yards out, with a five mile an hour wind at my back and the "zoom" / distance gauge suggests I'll pretty much land on the pin how on earth am I coming up 30 yards short and in the water? On a 100% contact shot? And then a couple holes later, same or VERY similar set of circumstances, I overshoot by 20 yards........ Um, what? Mostly though I find myself coming up short on approach shots and this did NOT happen on '09. Again, give me a good challenge but bad math doesn't count. Tell me someone else is having this problem, please.

And secondly apparently "random" weather means consistent 20 mile an hour winds and rain on at least six or seven holes in the 90% of the tournaments played. This is "random"??!!

Maybe it's just me but so far, aside from the new tournaments and courses, I'm not nearly as impressed as I thought I'd be.
