Bought the item for about 1/4 the price of the Microsoft brand. Item works as described. Also bought a cheaper ($4.00) HDMI cable and ($4.00)optical audio cable and have no complaints w/ any of the items. Don't spend the big money on an official Microsoft Item or Monster cable when these items do the job.

Hear ye, hear ye!

A goodly length in times past, a hindrance hath Microsoft bestowed upon my bretheren. I bid mine self, "for why must my brethern have emancipation extirpated from wence their HDMI ports lay?"

By my troth, the day of bulky Microsoft connections hath met their reckoning! Rejoice, as there exsists a contraption even more ingeneous than the catapult! For our scientists and scholars hath consulted with the Heavens thus bearing us the Microsoft Xbox 360 HDMI + Audio Dongle Adapter & Cable. Know this also, my bretheren: This creation cost ye minimal shillings.

As once saith the great Sir William Wallace...

"FREEDOM!!!"

When I got my xbox home I was, like most, disappointed to find out I would need new cables for HDMI. (The cable that comes with the XBOX covers up both outputs so you can't just plug in an HDMI cable.) This cable set came to the rescue and added in SPDIF digital audio output! I'm quite pleased with the result.

For anyone looking for an alternative to an expensive Microsoft brand cable, this one does the job. There is only one fault and I gave it 5 stars still because it is not the cable's fault. The one fault is that the Xbox 360 will restart if the input is changed or not already set before the Xbox 360 turns on. I believe this is just because the Xbox 360 sets the outputs automatically on startup ect. Otherwise this cable did exactly what I wanted at a fourth of the price.

This imitation cable for 1/5 the price of the official works flawlessly. I got this for my brother so he can use HDMI. I have the official MS cable on my setup, there is no difference in video or optical audio quality. Once again the cheap cable matches the expensive counterpart :)

Delivered promptly. Adapter and cables work as expected, huge improvement over composites that came with 360. Saved a lot of money over the official $50 version.

The HDMI connection on the Xbox is a pain in the neck. You can't use the standard audio cable with an HDMI cable unless you buy the expensive cable from Microsoft.

This generic dongle is awesome. You can use either RGA connections for left/right audio or a digital audio cable. The package also includes an HDMI cable, which is a great value considering the fact that an HDMI cable can run you $30 at a local retailer.

I used this adapter to connect my new Xbox 360 250GB Console. It took about two seconds to connect the cables.

By the way...THE VIDEO QUALITY IS AMAZING!!!!! The difference between the component cables and the HDMI cable is night and day. This was the best $12 I've ever spent.

Microsoft wants a ridiculous sum for this same device, just with their name stamped on it. Electrons don't care how much your cable cost. This baby works perfectly.

I have experiences zero problems with this cable system.

I was concerned that the HDMI cable wouldn't carry audio since the separate audio component was supplied, but the concerns were ungrounded.

My XBox now carries a crystal clear HD signal to my TV in a single cable.

I am quite pleased.

I recently had the problem of my turtle beach headset not being able to be plugged in when i had my monster hd cord plugged in. The cord was too large for both cords to be used simultaneously. This adapter allows me to use both of the items with no problem and it was wayyyy cheaper than what was suggested to me. No problems so far LOVEE THISS

If your having problems not receiving Dolby Digital signal from your TV to your receiver, its best to connect the XBOX directly to your receiver. Works wonderful and it allowed me to receive Dolby Digital signal directly, without having to go through the TV, given that the xbox only allows the DVI to output with the stock connections.

Great product. Pretty basic. Buy it if your not receiving the DD from the DVI through TV connection.

I purchased this HDMI AV dongle because it was half the price of the official MS dongle but works exactly the same. Why would you want to use this? Well basically it allows you to use a separate HDMI cable for HD video but still able to output analog or digital audio to a separate amp or speaker system without requiring special HDMI audio equipment. Without this dongle you'd have to get audio straight from the HDMI cable which requires one of the newer amps or TVs that can receive HDMI audio.

My LCD doesn't have component inputs so my only choices were HDMI or VGA. I didn't want to go VGA because the video quality is inferior to HDMI so I went for this HDMI AV dongle. The digital HD video quality through HDMI is amazing and for only half the price of the Microsoft dongle. The dongle and included HDMI cable all have gold plated connectors too so the quality is pretty good. I would recommend this HDMI AV dongle/cable to anyone who wants to get clean digital HD video through a simple single HDMI connection.

Works great and it was cheap. Don't bother with the over priced HDMI cables out there.

It works flawless. Maybe someone wonders why the design of the console does not allow to use the HDMI port along with the standard or component AV cable and you are 'forced' to buy the dongle for optical or stereo audio. The Xbox 360 have an autosense feature that works the following way (at least in the updated consoles):

1) The standard A/V cable enables stereo audio output and disables the HDTV and HDMI features.

2) The combo cable (standard-component A/V), in TV mode, enables the optical and stereo audio output. It disables the HDTV and HDMI features.

3) The combo with standard-component A/V cable, in HDTV mode, enables the optical and stereo audio output. It enables the HDTV features. It disables the HDMI features.

4) The dongle enables the optical and stereo audio output. It enables the HDMI-Video features. It enables the HDMI Plug&Play features. It enables the HDMI-Stereo audio output. It disables the HDMI-Digital Audio output.

5) With the HDMI cable alone all HDMI features are enable.

Then, if you manage to connect the HDMI cable along with a 'modded' A/V cable, it won't work.
