This game is a lot of fun. It's perfect to pick up and play when you want a quick fix of action and mayhem. I never had the chance to play it before and I know it has been out for quite some time. For this low price I thought I have nothing to loose. This game was a blast. Great fun story and awesome cut scenes. Also great to play with friends or online. Enjoyed it thoroughly and would recommend it to anyone who likes action/brawler type of games. Pick it up before Ultimate Alliance 2 comes out.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is a dream come true for fans of the Marvel universe. You get to choose from a number of famous and infamous characters to play in the game. From Spider-Man to Deadpool, this game is great when it comes to selection of characters. The graphics are great and doesn't look like a cartoon as the previous two X-Men Legend games have looked. There are so many characters, you will run into about five or six famous character with each level. There are a couple of flaws. One being that the camera occasionally isn't in the best position and the other being that the music is louder than the voices and it is sometimes hard to hear what the characters are saying. But overall, this is still a very fun game if you love Marvel.

This game is actually a lot more fun then I thought it was originally going to be. I bought it for my brother for Christmas and recently I've played the game co-op with him. The good thing about this game is that if one of your team members dies then you get switched to another one. But, if all of your team members die then you'll start over from the last save point.

There are bonuses if you set up pre-set teams in the game. The game will automatically add extra traits to your team. However, you can set up your own team and build up these traits on your own. There are many heroes to choose from.

So, if you like Marvel comics then this game is for you.

Over the years, video games based on comic book heroes haven't fared well. Name one good Batman video game, I dare you. Spider-man has had the biggest success rate in recent years, and the Hulk had a pretty good entry last year, but beyond that you're stretching things a bit. When X-Men: Legends came out a few years back, it was the start of a positive trend. Now everything has been set perfect by Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Taking a roster of over 20 different playable heroes, MUA allows the comic book fan to create dream teams never considered before. A-List heroes like Spider-Man, Captain America, the entire Fantastic Four, and Iron Man are joined by B-Listers like Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, and even Blade. Imagine a team with Wolverine, Blade, Ghost Rider, and Deadpool...who could stop you? There are even those mega-powerful heroes like Thor, Silver Surfer, and Captain Marvel you can throw in. Oddly missing from the line-up is the Hulk, but I'm sure they had to save someone for the sequel.

The storyline is simple: Doctor Doom has amassed an army of super-villains in an attempt to gain the power of Odin. Nick Fury of SHEILD gathers his own group of super folks to fight the threat. That's where you come in. Create your team from the roster available to you and go one the missions he sends you on. Along the way, you see cameos from characters you'd never have believed you'd ever see in a video game.

Imagine a video game with twenty "Non-Playable Characters" (characters showing up in cut scenes or computer-controlled). Now scratch that, and imagine a game with 120 of them! Heavy-hitters like Galactus even make an appearance! In one mission, you actually have to save a planet he's destroying. I can't even begin to list the villains and heroes you'll see. Suffice it to say, you probably won't recognize them all, but if you're into comic books your mouth will drop at some of them. The cut scenes in this game are good, but some are just plain amazing. One in particular with Nightcrawler in Doom's Castle actually proves he just might be the best fighter of all the X-Men. It's a scene you'll be watching again and again.

To top it all off, the heroes you control have different costumes to choose from. Choose wisely, because these aren't just cosmetic changes. Each costume changes the primary powers of that hero, so while Spider-man may look cool in his normal "red-and-blues", putting him in the black symbiote costume (the one showing up in all the trailers for the new movie) will change the way that character fights. The costume choices here are amazing too, as some of the most obscure costumes you could imagine show up center stage here. Remember Blade's very first green costume when he showed up in comics in the 70's? How about Storm's mohawk years? Captain America's World War 2 costume, Daredevil's red and yellow suit, and even the original "cowboy version" of Ghost Rider are playable here.

As a final bonus, you can create and name your own team, populating it with whatever heroes you'd like. As you fight with your group of four, you gain reputation points which eventually allow you to add more members to your team. And you can even play with four people at a time, so everyone on the team can be a real person and do some massive damage to the enemy armies.

So which cosole is the best to play this on? PS2 players get the short end of the stick with only 20 playable heroes. Next-gen consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions get two bonus heroes (Moon Knight and Colossus). In the handheld circuit, the PSP version gets four extra heroes (Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, and Ronin). The only downside to the PSP version is that there are times when so much is going on you can't really tell which hero you're controlling. The PS3 version wins as far as detail in display. You can actually see the threads in Spider-man's costume! I've played the game on all consoles, and have to rate the next-gen version the best.

The beauty of this game is its high replay value. Because you can swap team members up and each has such distinctive power sets, the game can be played in an almost infinite number of ways.

Easily my favorite video game of the year, MUA is a title no true comic fan should be without. With such an incredibly strong start, it's hard to imagine how they'll improve on it with the sequel, but I can't wait to find out!

I'm on my 3rd playthrough, and not just because I want all of the achievements for Xbox Live. I played the first time with the original Fantastic Four and the second time with the New Fantastic Four. This time, I'm using an all female power squad consisting of Storm, Invisible Woman, Storm and Ms Marvel. Since I unlocked all of the costumes in the first play, and since all unlocked items carry over, and also since playing the Hard mode allows you to start with whomever you wish in whatever costumes you wish with whatever powers and items you had at the end of Normal mode, I'm well set for play three. Even playing three times is not really repetitive because things change with the difficulty level you choose. One tip, you cannot go from Easy to Hard without playing Normal. I found that out the hard way, though it is logical to think that is the way it is. I've heard there are differences in Hard vs Normal, I'm looking forward to finding out. Judging by the first boss, who was a cakewalk before and this time KO'd half my team, I'm going to need to adjust my strategy this time around.

You can only play with 25 characters, they are missing alot of characters hulk, punisher, beast, nightcrawler etc. (and I have all char's). Frustrating camera angles along with ultra devestating gameplay and control issues. For beginners there's going to be alot of confusion. The story is very weak, and the graphics could be better then they are, they used xbox's graphics engine (lame). AI is unbearable because unused characters get in the way and take all your kills. In-game Bugs are out of control, level design is horrible and no variety and very repetitive. This game try's to be so much like City of Heroes but fails miserably.

If this game would of been designed and created like the two other spider-man games (ps2,xbox) it would have been perfect!

In my opinion, this is the best comic book game overall. Tons of characters, both well known and some of the lesser known, are in here. Gameplay is fun and quick paced. Controls are great as well as the graphics on my x-box 360 version. I highly recommend it!!!

Ok..I am a big Comics fan. I really enjoyed this title. It is what i call a action/RPG (this means you DONT have to select what your gonna do in a fight like in the Final Fantasies and Knights of the old republic) you just smack down with the characters. The Rpg aspect comes in because you can increase certain powers and costumes. There are 20 playable characters. With your interaction with up to 160 diffrent characters. The Graphics are pretty impressive and the cinimatics are just first rate, the game play is pretty straight forward.. I will have to say sometimes the camera angle and be a pain and some times the character get stuck but for the most part that is a rarity. You get to create your own super team if you want and name it what ever you want. If you liked Xmen Ledgends you wil like this game period i gotta go play some more rock on...

My 14 year old son bought this game. I was worried that it would be too young for him but he has really enjoyed the game. I like that it isn't very violent!

One of the best games for the XBOX 360, Marvel Ultimate Alliance manages to cram as much comic-book goodness into a single game as any has before it. If you've played the X-Men Legends games, then you know what to expect here, a huge roster of Marvel heroes with their signature powers and alternative forms to boot. Everyone from heavy hitters Thor and Spiderman as here, as well as some less than top-tier characters (Blade, Luke Cage, Elektra, etc.). The inclusion of Iron Man was key for me, as he's my favorite Marvel hero, and one of the more useful characters in the game.

The game controls well, and looks particularly good on the 360, as it takes advantage of the systems advanced lighting and texture capabilities. The frame rate is constant and fluid, and there's little you won't like here. The camera angles can be tough to deal with at times, but compared to some other versions (Wii...ugh), this one is a pleasure.

This is easily one of the most playable (and replayable) titles on the XBOX 360. With a ton of unlockable content (and more that you can download from XBOX Live), and some of the better multiplayer available (competitive and co-op), this one will keep you busy for a good while, and keep a smile on your face all the while. Excelsior!
