i want to like this gsme but with your life always creeping down i just cant enjoy it like i want to,imagine playing halo and the entire time your health gauge slowly drains untill you kill some enemy and get their health and then it begins to drain,no time to adventure around even though on easy you do have a little time you always feel you have to stay on the move constanly or die,for the most part you do,it really gets annoying actually it was annoying the first time i played it.thats to bad their was so much hype, try rainbow six vegas, gears of war, prey or call of duty 3,or FEAR, this is ok for a rent

This game was really quite enjoyable. But it is really simple, the enemies are simple to defeat, and it can get old really fast if you don't fall in love with it. But even if you just buy it and play it every once in a while i think its worth it. The single player missions can get a little tedious and the story line is nothing special but if you make it a little bit more difficult for yourself it can be pretty fun. What i mean is dont just kill whats right in front of you. Go out of your way, wander around, kill everything, even the giant boss style creatures that most people wont go after. Do that and you will get a real sense of accomplishment. You can brag to frinds about beating the giant snow worm that everyone else runs from. You dont have to mention the thing ate you twenty or so times. If you do everything in the game and play it to the fullest, it is a great game to have. Not to mention it doesnt have any real blood and gore so a younger child could play this and a parent wouldn't need to worry about there child being filled with greusome images. Where else can your kid fight fight off giant scorpions the size of a semi truck? Now that can be fun for the whole family!

I have owned this game from day 1 and I must say that it is by far my favorite game. I have little interest in the 1 player mode so I can't speak on that. But when it comes to online play.... This game is FANTASTIC !!!

I've read that many people think that Gears of War is a better game than LP. I completely disagree. I own Gears and have spent many hours playing it. In my opinion, the only thing Gears has over LP is the actual speed of the game. Gears is a much faster paced game. Aside from that... LP is better. There's more variety in LP. You have access to numerous Mechanical warriors (some that transform), probably close to 20 different weapons to choose from, grappling hook and numerous game modes including Post grab (similar to capture the flag), Elimination (Every man for himself), Team Elimination (2 to 4 teams battle it out) and Fugitive (one guy gets hunted by everyone else). This game really does bring a lot to the table. Don't be fooled by all the Gears of War hype. This game is better !!!

See ya on the Battlefield Sometime

This was probobly one of the worst games ever made. The storyline makes no sense and is just so bland and boring that can not seem to keep my attention for more then two minutes. As for the stupid thermal energy thing goes, what is up with that. It makes no sense and half the time you die trying to keep up your thermal energy while also having to fight. I wish I could get my money back and the 2 hours of my life that I spent on this game.

The most qualified people in my house to write a review on this would be my husband and my son but since I can't seem to get either one of them away from this game you'll have to settle for me repeating what I hear.

This game is awesome!

I can't believe how well thought out this game is!

Look out Halo!

How did we not have this before?

And it goes on and one but honestly I tune them out. So I would have to recommend, based on what I hear, this game to everyone. I personally do appreciate the fact that my husband and son can play a game together that is not M rated.

Lost Planet delivers fast-paced gameplay that definitely makes shooter fans happy. The shooter controls work excellent as the should for an Xbox 360 title, the graphics are amazing, the alien designs are cool, and it's definitely challenging. Some flaws are noticeable however, such as the storyline(Evil corporation called Nevec, The Frontier Project, and oh no! It turns out main protagonist Wayne was frozen in ice for 30 years! Gasp!), and you have to pick up the red glowing orbs for your survival and since your life force through these orbs can wear off and you'll freeze to death. These problems are fairly minor however when you are in the fast shooter gameplay which keeps you intrigued. Oh, and by the way Sony fans this game has been announced for Playstation 3 for 2008, so quit whining about Devil May Cry 4 going multiplatform, you stole an exclusive from Xbox 360.

First off, let me say I have always been a PC gamer for years. I never thought I would like playing on a gaming console as much has I like playing on the PC. When Call of Duty 3 came out last year and the game developer didn't make a PC copy of that game, I knew I had to buy an Xbox 360 because I love all the Call of Duty games on the PC and I didn't want to wait until sometime this year to get the next version of Call of Duty on the PC. So I broke down and bought the Xbox 360 console not only so I could play Call of Duty 3, but I also wanted to play Gears of War.

I really didn't expect any console game to be, graphic-wise, as good as a PC game so I didn't expect too much from Call of Duty 3 or Gears of War. Boy was I wrong. Let me tell you something. The graphics on both Call of Duty 3 and Gears of War are just awesome. I have to admit that the graphics on console games are just as good now as on PC games. I thought I would never admit that since I have always been a die-hard PC gamer all my life. I am so glad I went out and bought an Xbox 360.

And just so you know. I do not work for Microsoft trying to push the Xbox 360 console or its games. I'm just what you call a gamer junkie who just loves to plays games. If I didn't like the Xbox 360 or its games I would tell you the truth. It took me a while to get used to using a wireless Xbox 360 hand controller because I was so used to using a keyboard and a mouse on the PC, but after playing on the Xbox 360 for a while, I found out the hand controller is pretty easy to use.

Now on to my review on Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. I have played through the first two singleplayer missions in Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. The storyline and the graphics are really good. The graphics for this game are right up there with Gears of War. The creatures in this game are very well made. Plus the harsh cold climate in the game is very believable. You have the neatest vehicles to control and maneuver around in. You are also fighting against other humans on the planet called Snow Pirates and I was really impressed on how the Snow Pirates maneuvered against me. The AI in this game is really good. The explosions in this game are just mind blowing. The sounds in this game are really good. My recommendation is to go out and buy this game. It definitely one of the top games out there right now.

This is super great game! Worth the buy. If do not already have this game, get it, it is must have! The graphics are outstanding, the story is one of the best and the game play is super. This game is fun and challengying. The best thing is, that the graphic for the game are so real, that it makes you feel like you're really there. When I stared playing it and I saw the snow blow and crunch beneth the carature's feet, I felt a chill. Five stars is just not enough.

This game is a bland third person shooter especially compared to Gears of War and Rainbow 6 Vegas. While it looks decent, it has serious framerate stuttering particularly during boss battles. It also requires you to gather energy from dead foes, barrels, etc. or else you die. This forces you to rush at times and removes any tactical element to the game. Its an ok game and I'll probably finish it, but its not worth $60.

This game reminds me of a cheesey sci-fi flick that I'd love watching at a drive-in theater but I actually get to play it on my 360! It has everything from giant scorpions to a giant spider and what better way to kill these threats than in my groovy mech walker thingy!

I have had a total blast playing this game, really I can't understand the previous reviewers not having FUN with this game... My only gripe is its over so fast. I beat the game in 7 hours which I feel so totally unfair considering its $58

I would've preferred some open-endedness, a few maps with akrid, snow pirates and nevac skirmishing would've been so kewl for those of us that like single play more...

Very underrated game, it doesn't as much attention as other greats but this is up there with some of the most fun games. I recommend this for anyone who likes action adventure games.

I must say that I was not expecting the game to be as good as it is. From the huge bugs to the dum snow pirates I am enjoying the game from top to bottom, though Im not done with the game yet since I am playing on hard difficulty and it is pretty challenging, and thats coming from someone who played through gears of war on insane and beat it. I enjoy throwing a grenade into a cluster of snow pirates and hearing them scream the most. All around great game.

This game has some features that Halo 3 does not have. It is a third person shooter game and some features are nice to play. It is not the best game, but an 8 out of 10.

  • from Amazon

This game is great, from the start you are tossed in to a fast paced action packed thrill ride. Yes this game does have some fairly difficult parts in it but that just makes it all the sweeter once you beat that nasty boss at the end of a mission. The graphics are superb and the gameplay is top notch. This game was worth every penny I payed for it.

Looks great, but this game was just so boring to me. Even when you were shooting things and running around in various vehicles and robot contraptions, it still felt totally lackluster. The visuals are the strong point, from the enviornments to the creature designs; It also features the best explosions in any game so far; But the controls are slightly off and sluggish, and the pace of the game matches the character movements...slooooow!! Whatever that 'it' is that makes similar games fun(RE4, for one...just a different setting; also by Capcom...), or just other games fun in general, seems to have somehow eluded Lost Planet. It is such a shame, because the potential is clearly there. Maybe if it was designed as a first person shooter...But I say that about alot of games. Gears of War, anyone? If you must see for yourself, rent it.
