This is a great co-op game. I have not played single player yet but with 2 people it is one of the best co-op family friendly games you can go with. Me and my wife love it and we will purchase every LEGO game that comes out now on!!
I'm a big fan of the Lego games like StarWars and IndianaJones,
as you might know the two metioned titles play themselfs a lot alike which is kind of anoying, the great thing about Lego Batman is that LucasArts wasn't involved, finally we have more possiblities and got rid of the linear lvl structur. The game DOES NOT follow the movies, more like the characters with small references to the movie. It is a bunch of fun though, for kids as well as me 20 yrs old college student. Great game for fans as well as no-batman fans
My 10 yr old thinks this is the best game every. They really like switching between characters.
This game is a lot of fun. My husband is really enjoying it, and you get to be so many of the characters; not just Batman. You get all kinds of suits and vehicles. It is great. It is longer than the Indiana Jones or the Star Wars versions.
From what I have played so far, this game is great. It has all the great Lego-ness about it. The levels are fun to play. There is more hand to hand combat in this compared to start wars, but so was Indy. The bat suits are great and the typical Lego humor is there. I am a huge fan of the Lego series and have all the games so far and like this the best I think. It has all the same features as the other games, but a few tweaks here and there making the game feel more polished. It is hard to describe, but it feels refined. Certainly worth the money. Great if you have kids at home too. I bet they would like it as much as any adult.
I started buying the Lego games so that I could play something with my wife. We purchased Star Wars Saga complete series first and enjoyed that one. We just got Lego Batman and at present my wife, who is not an avid gamer by any stretch of the imagination, is actually a little addicted. You play as Batman and Robin, with the ability to find new power suits to alter your abilities. You can also play as the villains, as there is a whole story that includes them. All of the stories are really fun and offer some real challenges for kids and adults. Either way, this game is a lot of fun. It has frozen on us once so far, but I always assume games are going to freeze now and again on the 360. The game is also a little dark in contrast, so some things may be hard to see at times. Regardless, the game is fun, clean and well worth the money.
lego does it again. it's great! i wonder if they have a harry potter lego?
Now this is the best lego game out there, don't get me wrong the others were fun to but, more game time for your buck here. The story not being lock down to the movies lets them do more things with the game, 31 long missions. Jones was fun but was done in a few hours, we need more play time for our money. But what I really want to see is a Lord Of The Rings Lego!!
WOW. I owned Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga, before owning this game and I have to say I'm impressed with the graphical stand point of legos. I suppose this is the loophole for parents not wanting their kids to play violent and bloody games, instead they can blow up legos. I don't know, but for me, being young 20's it's still amusing!
I've played both the original trilogy LEGO Star Wars games, the LEGO Star Wars Complete Saga, and LEGO Indiana Jones. I rented LEGO Batman and beat it to 100%. I'm very glad I didn't purchase it.
This latest iteration of the LEGO series is absolutely dripping with glitches and bugs - some of them glaring. I have had to restart levels because unlockables - called "Power Bricks" weren't appearing even after the camera zoomed to where it SHOULD appear. Nothing happened! I even had to restart the game because an achievement wouldn't unlock (the infamous "Natural Habitat" achievement.) I replayed the level the same way I had played it a half-dozen times, and *plink* - got it. A.I. characters got stuck behind an open door (are you serious?) or get stuck in a death loop - as soon as the character respawns, it's instantly killed again. Very tedious, busy work.
The animations prior to and after the various levels are hugely UNentertaining. I've been a Batman fan for years, but never read the comics. I had also never seen an Indiana Jones movie, but could still understand the general LEGO story even without the characters talking. The Batman story simply didn't make sense. I really had no idea what I was working towards, and after the first few "episodes" it simply became a chore.
I will say that their creativity in some of the various unlockables really was quite amusing. My favorite was a mini-game in the "Villians" episodes that had me driving little remote control trucks through a little road course, putting the trucks into areas of their respective colors. It was so trivial, but it was a lot of fun! They also got pretty creative with the benefits of certain characters (or "suits" for the Batman and Robin characters.) One Batman suit lets you touch glowing-red-hot lego blocks. One Robin character lets you walk underwater.) These were new twists on an otherwise aging method of game-play.
I learned after Star Wars Complete Saga - don't buy these games. I hate to take business from Amazon or anyone else for that matter, but once you finish these games, they are worth nothing more than coasters. They'll keep you busy for hours at first, but their replayability is zilch.
As a father of two and a long time gamer, I'm a huge fan of the Lego games. Lego Indiana Jones was not quite as good as the Star Wars installments, IMO, however the Batman game reigns supreme! Yes, the quirky AI issues that have plagued the series still exist but they are easy to tolerate given the engaging game play and fun spirited humor that has become a trademark of Lego Video Games. The ability to play as the Villains in Story Mode is a great addition. I also appreciate that the game does not follow any particular movie script.
This game is fun for both adults and children and offers an excellent co-op experience. Even my non-gaming Wife enjoys playing this with the kids. The bottom line is, Lego Batman does not disappoint. Enjoy!
I played the demo for this game and decided that I had to own it. On the surface, the game appears deceptively easy and shallow. However, after a few minutes of banging around the first level, you'll realize that this game is pretty deep. The easy combat, simple controller system (few buttons to use), and head-scratching obstacles make this game easy to pick for just about any age. My 6 year old loves this game. She won't play anything else on the Xbox 360 console. Don't be fooled by the size of any level. You can't find half of any level's goodies in one pass. If I had known about the Lego games sooner, I would have gladly paid full price for such a deep gaming experience.
"My favorite Lego game so far. I thought it was better than Indiana Jones and the Star Wars Saga. Hours of fun for me and my 7yoa son. Easy 1,000 achievement points."
A game that keeps your interest and keeps you focused on getting to the next level, but at the same time not wanting the game to end.
I really enjoy to play this game. If you like "Batman's story" it is great because you can play with "batman" or "jocker" ...
