Let me start off by saying that I'm a big fan of Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. I think they are a blast and a nice change from the controller.

I was upset at how short this game was compaired to Guitar Hero 3. There is only one battle against Joe Perry compaired to three battles in GH3. There is about 13 less songs as well. The game is just way too short and unsatisfying for $[...] Do yourself a favor and rent this one as you can beat all the songs in a matter of a few hours.

The game was as discribed. The cost was low and it was in good condition. The delivery was fast.

Alright, I bought the game, beat it, and some of the songs are long, there are really easy achievements, and one of my big problems was you can buy all these costumes and guitars for joe perry and he will only wear them when you are doing the warm up songs and they are not even his songs. come on activision think a little before you create a game. the game was worth 3 stars.

Very good seller and game. This game is probably more suitable for older audiences who enjoy Aerosmith, Joan Jet, and these great older bands. Very fun!

I rented this game a couple of days ago and the title says it all; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is nothing but an expansion pack. I believe it would have made more sense (to the consumer anyway) to have all the songs as DLC for Guitar Hero III rather than charging full price for virtually a half of a game. It is clear that Neversoft wants to milk as much money out of its customers as it can with the least amount of effort and GH:Aerosmith proves this fact.

As you already know this latest edition of Guitar Hero features Aerosmith songs. However contrary to what I originally thought; all the songs are NOT Aerosmith. Out of the 31 songs in the game only 20 or so of them are Aerosmith tracks. In career mode you have to play two Non-Aerosmith songs to be able to play Aerosmith. This goes on for every venue and it gets rather repetitive and boring. Though it's JUST like GHIII it's just not as fun. There is nothing different between this and GHIII except for a couple of new animations and the venues. All the characters are the same, expect you can unlock the right to play with Aerosmith members or DMC from RUN-DMC. But honestly after playing through this game one time and beating it, I haven't picked it up again and have no desire to keep playing just to get the new characters.

The difficulty is no where as near as hard as GHIII and I was able to beat all but one song on Expect on my first try. Instead of wasting my rental time trying to beat that one last song, I went back and beat it on hard just so I can get finished with it and in one day I beat it. There is one boss battle in this game, but its no where near as ridiculous and cheap as Lou is on GHIII.

While I have also beaten GHIII and Rock Band, I still go back and play them regularly, however after beating GH:Aerosmith I have no desire to play it anymore.

I must reiterate that this game is nothing but an expansion pack and Neversoft has a lot of nerve charging full price for it. It only has a little over half the songs as GHIII so I am thinking it should be just a little over HALF the price, but no its the same price as GHIII. Unless you are a HUGE, die hard guitar Hero fan that absolutely must have every single Guitar hero game that ever came out, including Rock the 80's which was also full price from what I can remember, then this game is only rental worthy. Do not waste your money on this half of a game. Rent it, beat it, and save 50 or so bucks to use towards a full game.

I bought this game for my girlfriend. She and I have been playing each other for a while now, I think since Guitar Hero II came out, and this one just adds to the fun! We Can't Put It Down!

My main problem with the game is it is way too short and easy. Starting with Neversoft's Guitar Hero III, the series isn't as fun as it once was. There isn't much too say about this game since there really isn't anything new here. Basically, it's a Guitar Hero game based on Aerosmith and bands they were inspired by. The game is full price even though it only has half as many songs as GHIII had. Due to the game being too easy, it's also not nearly as fun. The only song I like playing on this game anymore is "Joe Perry Guitar Battle". I easily five starred every song on the Expert difficulty and I'm only semi-good. While this game is disappointing, it at least has a few advantages over GHIII. For example, the drummer isn't animated like a robot, no songs are over charted badly, you actually have to be precise with your hammer-ons and pull-offs again, and they don't advertise stuff that has nothing to do with music. While I am a fan of Aerosmith and I do think the track list was well made, I just don't like the whole one band idea. Maybe Guitar Hero: Metallica will change my mind, but I doubt it. The only reason you should buy this game is if you're a really big Aerosmith or Guitar Hero fan. Otherwise, just wait until the true sequel to GHIII, Guitar Hero World Tour.

Its not too much of a big jump, although its more entertaining because it actually has sort of a "storyline" to it, the menus have changed, and they have different achievements then GH3 like for example if u get a 100 note streak on the second song of career you get a gamerscore achievement called cheescake, and trust me, thats not the end of the weird names of the achievments

P.S. I was the first reviewer of this version of this game HA!! BEAT THAT!!

This is the one that gets pulled out when there are friends over. Everybody loves Aerosmith.

Though I don't own this game when Metallica guitar hero is released it will completely destroy this game. Oh wait aerosmith has been around longer than Metallica, But for true Metallica fans we know where the real talent is.

So this was great for him. The only problem with Rockband is that it gets old and eventually the instruments just gather dust, like old exercise equipment, hehe.

I am a Guitar Hero junkie, I admit it. I have played every title in the Guitar Hero franchise multiple times. When I heard that they were making a game based almost exclusively on Aerosmith, I was ecstatic...I have been a fan of Aerosmith since I was a wee child wearing out my father's copy of the "Rocks" album on the record player.

Needless to say, I was there at release to purchase my copy; I bought the bundle version as I needed to replace my wireless guitar controller which has started to wear out due to constant playing. Upon getting my copy, I rushed home to play.

I was a little underwhelmed, to say the least. The first thing I noticed was there was little more than HALF the content of the previous releases. There are a total of 31 songs in the career mode, with an additional 10 available through the in game store...a whopping total of 41 songs total to play through. Compared to the 73 songs available in Guitar Hero III, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith leaves something to be desired.

As for the track listing, there is a decent smattering of Aerosmith tracks, however, some tracks that you would expect to see here are missing, such as "Janie's Got a Gun (The band's first Grammy win), Angel, Dude Looks Like a Lady, Eat the Rich, Cryin', Amazing, and Crazy, to name a few. These are some of the highest charting and most popular songs of the band's career, and given the relative lack of content overall, their absence is inexcusable. As I progressed through the game, I became convinced that this game should have been released as downloadable content or a lower cost expansion to Guitar Hero III.

On the plus side, the game mechanics are identical to Guitar Hero III, so anyone familiar with the workings of that title will be right at home here. The inclusion of short video clips featuring interviews with the band members between each tier of songs was a nice touch, as well. Being that it's basically the same game as Guitar Hero III, the fun-factor is unchanged.

Bottom line: If you are a die-hard Guitar Hero fan, and enjoy Aerosmith as I do, RENT this game for now, and wait to purchase until after the price inevitably drops. However, if you are neither, then go play your copy of Guitar Hero III...you're not missing much skipping this installment altogether.

This game really didn't get the reviews it should have. I will say that it isn't great, but it really should have fared better critically. The long and short of it:

The good

-Fun game

-Tons of nice Aerosmith songs

-Cool content (Interviews and characters and such)

The bad

-Not for Aerosmith-haters

-Not as many songs as other games

-Kind of short

I really enjoy this game. I'm not a huge fan of Aerosmith, but I don't hate them. I do like their songs, and one has to admit that Aerosmith is a pretty good band, but not everyone enjoys them. I am a bigger fan of guitar hero and the entertainment of playing challenging and unique songs.

That is the strong point of this game: Aerosmith has many songs which are unique and fun on guitar. Joe Perry isn't a virtuoso by any means, but he dose know how to write a good solo. The songs are by no means easy, but they are not anywhere near as hard as late songs in Guitar Hero 3. This, as you can imagine, results in some pretty fun and very unique charts that you don't find elsewhere.

The venues are fun. It's fun to play through a set and then get a short video of interviews with the separate members of Aerosmith. Steven Tyler is noticeably amusing, if not altogether strange. Playing songs is a new experience as well. The characters on stage dance around much like Aerosmith would. Tyler does his weird dances and poses; Perry has his own very entertaining moments, such as when he begins playing guitar while lying on the ground. If you can manage to take your eyes away from the highway, it's very enjoyable to watch the scene happen.

You also get a pretty impressive, and cool, lexicon of characters. The characters from Aerosmith are a given, but you have all of the characters from GH3 and even DMC. King of Rock and Walk This Way are two of my favorite songs form the game, and easily some of the best songs in Guitarhero history.

But it comes to pass that this game is about Aerosmith, and it is short. The listing of songs is less than even GH3 and GH2. It will take you a little while to play through the game, but you probably won't come back for more. It has a few cool songs that you might want to play a few times, but the entire game isn't as memorable as other games.

Im not a big fan of them but I got this game for like (...) new and shipped to my house from on here awhile back. The songs are not bad it ends up like all the guitar hero games after a couple weeks it gets boring.
