Thank you for the quick shipment. I found the used game to be in new condition. I love the game. I give you 5 stars.
I have had this game for several years and it still retains its playability. I wish they would come out with more songs for it though; although I realize that with GH3 out, they stopped doing that.
Thankyou for sending me this game in such a quick manner, I'm currently in Iraq, and now I'm just a little less bored.
I owned and played the heck out of the original Guitar Hero, and managed to get everyone I knew into it. Yet for some reason I skipped GH2 when it first came out, and didn't return to the series until GH3. I was very disappointed in GH3, but when I saw GH2 on sale for the new 360 I bought it - and fell in love with the series again.
As a sequel GH2 picks up and improves upon almost every aspect of the original. Co-op mode was a great idea, and there's a better mix of genre/decade songs than the original. The game offers a few genuinely challenging songs and is for the most part more difficult than the original. However for those, like me, who played GH3 first and wanted to try something else in the series GH2 is a lot easier. That's not a bad thing - at times it felt like GH3 was artificially adding button combinations or notes in order to ramp up the difficulty. To put it shortly, GH2 is an improvement in gameplay (as much as rhythm based games can be different) from both its predecessor and its first successor.
However, since we're comparing the game to its sequel, the most painfully obvious difference is the lack of master tracks. The covers aren't terrible but the fact that there aren't more original recordings is pretty disappointing. For some this won't make the least bit of difference, for others it can be jarring. It all boils down to how you feel about covers in general. Another potential fault is the DLC area. The tracks you can download are a bit pricey, but if you're willing to pay they definitely help prolong the experience.
GH2 is still my favorite of the original three GH games. It has a great mix of music, it just "feels" a lot smoother than its sequel, and the new multiplayer mode definitely adds a lot more to the series. If you enjoyed GH3 and are looking for more, if you love the guitar experience on full band games, or if you want to get into the genre with no background experience I highly recommend you check out GH2.
Plus, who can argue with a game that has a SPINAL TAP song on it?
My daughter is in 7th grade and really loves this "old school" music. She really likes this game!
All the songs are great. This is a great game just like all the other Guitar Hero's also.
This game is so much fun. My kids begged me for this game. Even my husband and I have played it. It can be frustrating when you first get started. Once you coordinated enough it's hard to put down. I find myself saying just one more song, just one more but unable to stop playing. This is a good family time game.
I've owned Guitar Hero 1,2,3, Aerosmith and Rock Band 1. I've also played Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2. This game has the best songs in my opinion.
Can't you hear me knocking - Girlfriend - Heart Shaped Box - John the Fisherman - Last Child - Life Wasted - Message in a Bottle - Possum Kingdom - Search and Destroy - Strutter - Surrender - War Pigs - Who was in my room last night - Woman - You really got me.
All of these are very fun to play on my little plastic fake guitar :)
Every game after this one pales in comparison as far as the song choices. (In general)
If you missed this one, buy it!
Just wanted to throw in an important fact. Don't buy the GAME ONLY unless you already own a GH guitar. I went and bought both GH 2&3 thinking I could use my Rock band Guitar. Your RB guitar will not work with any GH games!!! Now I have to spend more money for a guitar, when I tried to save money. Great Game BTW!
Game is a lot of fun to play. Doesn't have too many flaws. It gets stuck sometimes, like the other games, but overall isn't bad.
I bought Guitar Hero 2 originally for Playstation 2 when it first came out and then it out later for Xbox 360 so I bought this game also because it had better graphics and some extra songs. This game is really fun I can play it for hours and not get bored of it.I play it on medium because I find it difficult to press the orange button on hard mode. This game has a lot of great songs, but not all of the songs are good, some of the cover songs are not done very well like "Killing In The Name","Them Bones",and "Institutionalized". Besides the covered songs the rest of the game is fun and I think this game has better songs than Guitar Hero 3. This game has a unlockable songs, costumes, and guitars. My guitar that came with X-plorer guitar which is my favorite guitar,I own the Les Paul guitar and its not as comfortable.I do think that these games should have more newer bands like Chevelle,Three Days Grace,Breaking Benjamin, and Bullet For My Valentine.
My favorite songs are "Freebird","Crazy On You","Them Bones"and "Laid To Rest".
Pros: 70 songs,unlockable costumes,comfortable guitar,hours of fun,difficult on hard and expert modes,improved graphics
Cons: should of got newer bands, covered songs
it's a little older and cover songs suck compared to the latest master recordings in rockband and world tour. but it is still a great game for those that like to rock out with fake plastic guitars
This game has always been entertaining and a great way to pass the time. The songs on it are great and there is plenty to keep you occupied. Mastering the easy level was very quick but getting through medium and hard proved to be much more difficult. The only complaint I would have about this product is that the jump from playing on a Medium level to the Hard level is too much. They should have eased into it a little more. All in all a great buy.
Guitar Hero 2 is pretty good the only downfall is that i wish a majority of the songs were done by the original band. Other than that the songs are still fun to play and the difficulty is still pretty intense.
Id like to start off saying that I played GH3 before I ever played this game. I noticed that the hammer ons are much harder to pull off in this game but songs are easier to complete. For $20 though you cant go wrong, great song list though the downside is that they aren't sung by the original artists.
I gave this 3 stars because the visuals are poor, when you star power the whole screen shakes and non-original artists. Just consider all of this when GH Aerosmith and GH4 are just around the corner!
