This is one of those games where almost everything about it works: the car customization is extremely detailed (tune it up, test it, tune it up again - it's almost too realistic); the car selection is to die for (over 300 top models from all over the world); the simulation is spot-on; there are a million upgrades you can get; and last but not least, while some complained about the graphics (the motionless clouds, the intermittent choppiness), I felt like they were more-than-suitable, if not top-notch (the cars are rendered beautifully though, which is the most important thing). The one small complaint I have is the limited, slightly repetitive race-track selection - while it's cool that players have the choice to pick which tournament they want to play (or re-play), I wish Forza just added a few more different ones for variety. Otherwise, racing fans, this is the one to get: not Colin, not even PGR4 come close to beating the success of this game. Hours and hours of gameplay are guaranteed.
Gran Turismo was the only reason to have a Playstation. Since the PS3 was hard to get I went with the Xbox 360. When I found out that Forza 2 was coming out I was looking forward to giving it a try. Let's just say I am glad I went with Xbox 360. Forza 2 blows Gran Turismo out of the water. The amount of cars and the countless options of painting and graphics makes this one of the most customizable games out there. Get the Xbox wheel and you become a better racer. One thing I love about this game is there are none of the silly licenses to get. You just race or practice. I don't have the time to try and complete a corner under a certain time just to get a license to drive in the game. I always would have to find cheat codes to get past those stupid things. Forza 2 you just go out and race. The more you win the more tracks and cars unlock, which is makes it fun. Isn't that why we do this. If you are holding out for Gran Turismo 5 or whatever it will be, Make the switch and never turn back. Forza 2 is a winner.
Forza 2 has great physics and handling while running at a solid 60fps. You get a powerful livery editor (painting), tuning, upgrades, an auction house, and a ton of cars. The assists let anyone from a beginner to expert race the way they want and have fun. There is real damage too, unlike some other games, so you feel the consequences of taking a turn to wide or bumping into other drivers.
I love this game. It is so much better than all the other racing simulators I have tried. The graphics are really impressive, the audio is clear and active, and the game play is wonderful, both online and off. I have only played for several hours at this point, both online and off and both have been wonderful. The Career mode is great, with ability to tweak and upgrade my cars all the time. Multiplayer is really fun since you can compete with people with similar skill and car levels.
I highly recommend this game.
If you are looking for a good, realistic racing game on the 360, this is the one to buy. Tons of cars and tracks make the game last for hours. For an even more realistic simulation, pick up the 360 wireless wheel and pedals, they work perfectly with this game. Great game for racing fans!
This is a very good racing game. The physics are realistic and the graphics are impressive. There is a huge selection of cars with numerous aftermarket upgrade options. I enjoyed every minute of playing this game.
I received this in a package with my 360. I've been a PS1&2 fan for the duration and I finally bought an original Xbox used after the 360 came out. But this time, after reading quite a bit about the 360 vs. the PS3, I decided to get the 360 first. I know that I'll eventually own both systems but it seems that there are many more good games written for the 360 at this point. I know the PS3 has more technical potential than the 360 but it doesn't seem like it's been realized yet by the programmers. I'm sure this is simply because the 360 beat the PS3 to marked just like the PS2 beat the original Xbox to market several years ago.
Anyway, because I'm a PS 1&2 fan, I really enjoyed the GT series and am still a big fan of them. I was pleasantly surprised at Forza2 as it came packaged with my 360. I think the game play is comparable to the GT series but there is a much greater selection of really high end sports cars (Ferrari, Lambroghini, etc.) than in the GT series. I know the damage isn't "realistic" but it does add an element of challenge that doesn't exist in GT. Overall, it's not a revolutionary step forward over GT but I do like it more. Maybe next Christmas, I'll buy a PS3 and hopefully GT4 will be out.
Why?
1) The car simulation is very true to life. Different car designs play true to their characteristics. And if you invest in better stuff, it shows. And then there is the car's set up. Still not convinced? Try doing donuts in a 330 Ferrari from 1967! OMG. Convinced that lots of power is all you need? Try wrestling a Lingerfelter Vette in New York!
2) The crash modelling is just a killer app and sets it apart from GT4. No more pinball racing! You crash and you spin and you burn! Just try simulation setting, and you will be limping around the track with bent suspention or even a dying engine that will spew smoke out the pipes! So much so, that you wonder how the pro's can manage to finish a race with all the rubbing going on! Or you can go out and play Crash Derby and watch what it's like to hit a Enzo doing 180!
3) The tracks, although lacking in variety (I really miss Monaco!) are very well modelled, including detail like differentiated behaviour as you hit sand traps, gravel traps, or spin your tyres on grass or dirt. Amazing. The Sebring track even has the irregular pattern of the concrete slabs, and tyres actually sound different over them and the car behaves like a pool with wheels.
4) The opposing AI is just fiendishly realistic. Set it in hard and they will go out to get you! If you rub someone off track, you better keep ahead or else he will come at you and push you out at the nearest curve.
5) The car hop up program is similar to GT but takes it a step further. There is more detail, and you can even do engine swaps with models that allow it (not all of them)
6)The controls are great as the triggers offer ample modulation. I am still struggling with my GT habit of all ON or OFF.
7) Finally, if all this is not enough, you can get artistic and pimp your ride with an incredible array of art. A game inside the game.
And did I mention that you just plug in your MP3 to the Xbox and listen to your fev tracks.
Well I think someone stoled this idea from Gran Turismo. Which I have been saying for years. Someone else should do a game like Gran Turismo. If I didn't know better I would think I was playing Gran Turismo. And since Sony won't publish Gran Turismo on any other systems except the play station. This game is great. I knew I would love it when I bought it. Although it lacks one thing. Since you can level your driver up, you should beable to have a switch to turn on death for a driver incase you crash your car so bad it kills you. Laughing I mean I have gotten so mad at the computer for running me off the road I have turned around and smashed every computer car. Hey it lets you vent. Always fun to watch car parts go everywhere. And hey if you are quick enough you can catch the collision in a picture. Anyways this is an awesome game. If you have a Xbox 360, buy it. You'll be so addicted. I even started over in the other two regions just to see what cars they give you when you level up. Oh one thing that does differ from Gran Turismo is the cars you win are only worth a 100 dollars, but who cares. That just means you have to go race more to get better cars. Okay I am rambling now. L8r T8rs.

As many other people have already said, the graphics on this game are amazing. This game will keep you busy for a while with all the different modes and customizations you can do. If you search the web you will see the type of customization you can do to the cars that adds an awesome twist to the game.
I have been a loyal gamer all my life and almost played every racing game out. GT series was fun in the beginning. But after a while. It totally bored me out. My latest joy in racing was Forza 2 (plus the first one). With this game, you CAN NOT get lazy with this game. I put in major work detailing my rides. I now care in I rub or bump another car because that is paint transfer. Forget about it.
This game is the best racing game i have played. I really liked GT3 and even 4. But this game along with its predecessor are better in a lot of ways. Even if you are not an experienced player when it comes to racing games, you will catch on quit the game allows you to learn at your own pace witch in the end makes it more fun for everyone. The customizing and upgrading have improved from the first game. It really is a challenge for experienced players and a breeze for newbies both at the same time. But if you like racing games any at all then buy this you wont be disappointed.
A game with great graphics and life like gameplay. It gives you the opportunity to buy parts and modify your cars. Tuning your car becomes a must, which is fun. Real, known, popular engine swaps are available. You'll need the skills to successfully win races. Aimed towards serious racers/gamers.
i'm having a great xperience with this game. Use with the official steering wheel. Can't get more real than that.
I spent lots and lots of time playing Forza on xbox, so naturally I had to buy a 360 just for this game. let me say it was way worth it. you can do lots of things in this game. you can buy a honda hatch and swap and S2000 motor in it. great graphics, GREAT physics. everything great. if your into racing then this is the game for you. if your into ricey crap then stick to NFS.
