Awesome game, easily one of the best RPG's for 2008.

I only wish I could have bought the collector's edition at the holiday deal price.

There are too many good things to say about the game so instead I'll comment on a few things you can expect.

- there are a few glitches here and there though nothing that cannot be worked around, and with DLC (down loadable content) I'm sure they will patch the bugs soon...two words. "Save often."

- if you get the hang of the game quickly and figure out the min/max way of building your character you will most likely find the game to be too easy later on, though the difficulty level of the game can be changed in the options screen while you play...although it will make the experience a bit more challenging it will also net you more exp in turn making you level faster. best advice...just play, don't read any walkthroughs until you've finished it through once. I'm on my 3rd time through and I'm still finding things I didn't find the first two times.

A few nagging annoyances and spots in game play that slightly pull you out of the experience. You might have just killed every criminal in 1,000 miles saved someone's daughter from a poisonous giant arachnid, cured cancer and freed 100 slaves but if you so much as look at that bottlecap on a desk the shop keeper will treat you like a 2 bit criminal yourself. If I'm Jesus incarnate walking the face of the earth they should be happy I grace them with my presence. Similarly if you play an evil character it would have been nice if people treated with your the correct level of terror induced respect. If Darth Vader walks into your shop and steals something you don't trash talk him about eying the shiny trinket on the shelf.

The world is a bit static as well, it would be cool if there was some sort of dynamic economy where the prices of goods adjusts to supply and demand. By the end of the game I was bringing in hundreds of pounds of fully automatic rifles but the prices never went down, nor did their proliferation. As I move merchandise from the criminals to the shops it would be great to see the local population's gear improve and maybe feel inspired to fight back against the now weakened raider population.

All in all though that's just nitpicking. It's still one of the best games ever made and pushes the art form.

I bought this for my boyfriend for x-mas 2008. He asked me for the game itself but I wanted it to be a bit more special. I wanted to surprise him with something he wasnt expecting and this special edition was perfect. He says its a gift every girlfriend should give their boyfriend and the bobble head was a nice touch. He makes use of the lunch box as well.

The world of Fallout 3 is so complete is does the often difficult task of immersing you in the experience and making you forget your playing a game. The graphics are top notch. The sound is great. The simplicity of the interface and the RPG element makes it so much easier to play than other games of this genre. And that means it is more fun.

OK, I bought this game knowing nothing about the series. It took me some time to get into the game and the gaming system. Maybe 10 - 13 hours of play. However, once I got in to it, I totally got hooked.

I played this game on my Mac Book Pro running in Boot Camp. I had to reduce the graphics but even so, the play was smooth and fun. I really enjoyed the different ways to customize my character. I played start to finish 3 times and finished all but 2 (or 1?) of the goals in the game.

I only have two complaints: 1. the game has an ending and you cannot play after that ending. 2. the max level is 20, which will affect how you build your character.

I managed to finish many quests in very different ways. I found cool weapons and learned to manage my inventory weight pretty well. I did find that with a little work, it was pretty easy to make money irrelevant.

Overall this is an expansive game with a lot of fun. There are some very tough characters and generally stealth is rewarded.

I was surprised just how much I got into this game.

Oh, and I was traveling between the US and Europe a few times while I was playing this game. I logged about 20 hours at 30K feet.

Pure and simple this is one of the best games I've ever played. Once you've completed it there isn't a lot of reason to got back to it but the overall game experience was great. Will warn you though. The game does have some glitches and bugs. Even with them it is a 5 star game.

I got my CE from amazon this afternoon, and this is the nicest CE I bought this year comparing to the Fable 2 CE and GTA 4 CE. The CE package has a neat looking lunch box, you could either put it somewhere as a decoration or use it as the storage for small stuff, that Pipboy figure is a fine-maded bubblehead, kinda hilarious; There is also an artbook of 100 pages featuring the concept art in Fallout3, and a DVD of making of the fallout 3; I think the CE is totally worth the price especially now amazon is offering the $10 giftcard.

Now thinking about the game, maybe you would argue that this is just "Oblivion with guns", but this "Oblivion with guns" has more to offer than just "Oblivion with guns", it has a massive story(according the guide i received today, after you completed the game you got tons to do), also the SPECIAL is back! Pipboy is back, i cant help crying after i creating my character and seeing a whole new wasteland, which is far more detailed than the game I played 10 years ago. Maybe you would argue again, Bethesda is incapable of doing top-notch black humor like Black Isle, but the feels of exploring the wasteland is back, here I listed a few pros and cons

Pros

+ build of the whole wasteland

+ mission design

+ user interface

+ storytelling

+ Pipboy

+ tons of things to explore

Cons

- cant skip the VATS slow motion

- making choices wont affect whole game too much unlike previous ones

In general, I would recommend this game to those who love Oblivion

Post-Apocalyptia at its finest... The music, interaction, detail, humor, sense of reality, and general feel of the game is amazing.

Bethesda Studios succeeded at creating the Greatest Game Ever!

The game itself has a deep and brooding atmosphere. Its very easy to immerse yourself. Every detail has been thought out. The game play is solid with more than enough to keep you busy over 50 hours. I especially like the Collector's Edition with the bobblehead and lunch box. Those are extra nerdy touches that make it even more fun.

I love this game wholeheartedly and cant wait for the Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Edition.

I do however recommend that if you have a capable PC to buy this game for PC and download the G.E.C.K. If you like to mod for games this is a great one to mod for. There is a huge community for modders for Fallout 3 and the things you can do are seemingly limitless. For example you can...

Add new perks, have ridable mounts, have new companions, new housing options, change the animations, add an expanded arsenal of weapons and armor, wear disguises to fool different factions.

It is a must in my opinion to play this game to its fullest.

Cheers,

Billy

I purchased this for my boyfriend as a valentine's day gift. I bought him the MW2 edition of xbox for Christmas, and he had been itching to get this game ever since.

Unlike my boyfriend, I had never played the fall out series, but the lunch box looked cute so I decided on the collector's edition.

It arrived in brand new condition as it was discribed, and I was pleasantly surprised that the lunch box had a lot more packed inside than just the box and the game inside.

The bobblehead was cute. But my boyfriend refuses to get it outside the package and display it in the room, like a mudkip figurine I bought for him.

The game starts up a little slow but once you get out of the first area it picks up and keeps you busy. I hate first person shooters, but I don't mind watching this game as my boyfriend plays it for hours. It's always fun to watch him blow a head off a super mutant.

He is wishing he had the book for the game, so I guess I'll get that for him for his easter basket.

This was not only a great item but a bargan too. All in all it was cheaper than just buying the game outright. It included a few collectables as well as an illustrated flip book and DVD. It was just a great purchase and I would gladly deal with the seller again. Thanks a lot!!

A Satisfied customer,

Matt Murphy

This game is ridiculously immersive. It has a great story and hours upon hours of bonus quests. The graphics are great and the gameplay is addictive. Watching a super mutant's head get blown into pieces in slow motion never gets old. I would highly suggest this game to anyone, especially fans of Oblivion. Just make sure you have a lot of free time.
