I would pay 30 dollars for the original game alone; it was that good. The action is a strategic mix of magic, guns, and blade, while the role playing aspects are addictive and fun. Little touches like your avatar growing larger as you eat pies, or the ability to decorate the house and marry show how much love the developers put into this game. I was blown away by how addicted I was to buying houses while I was trying to become the game's Donald Trump. But that's my story. You could become the best gambler around, playing card games that would merit full on XBLA releases. You could be a party animal, giving beer to everyone while playing your lute. Or you could become the meanest villain of all time, leading unsuspecting followers to their execution at the whim of a macabre spin the wheel, choose your death kind of thing. This is the beauty of Fable 2, you can make the world your own. The bonus DLC is just icing on the cake, making this deal and incredible one.

Fable 2 is a great game which is obvious because it's now a platinum hit. Basically, it's a story that you create by making choices. You can become good, bad, corrupt, pure, neutral or a combination of them all. Your choices affect the world and people around you. I would call it an amazing Adventure/RPG game. You don't have to take my word for it though because this game is a steal at $19.99! And the best part about this platinum hits game is that it comes with the two DLCs (Knothole Island and See the Future) for free already preloaded on the disc so it saves a lot of hard drive space. That's an amazing deal for a game of the year title. Anyone with an Xbox 360 would be a fool not to pick up this game ASAP!

I totally loved the first fable and played the game all of the way through several times. I have only played this game beginning to end once, but that is enough to know the Pro's and Con's of this game:

PROS -

the game-play is simple and straight forward. It is easy to learn the game and it is easy to get around in the world.

The graphics are improved and the weapons as well.

the dog is a fun addition, and helpful on treasure hunting.

Buying and renting out property is a fun way to earn money as are the jobs such as black-smithing, woodcutting, and bar-tending for quick cash.

choices for good and evil are simple, but pure and corrupt is odd to have in the game.

CONS -

Condoms, prostitutes, and STD's - really? not something you need in a video game. Sex in any video game is ridiculous. The point is not to have a family or whore around, but to save the world.

Storyline is not unpredictable, but then again, straight forward is not always a bad thing.

Don't understand why there was not too much as armor or protection, but clothes that you dye. it is cool at first but then, pretty slim selection on the outfits, and gets lame fast.

***all in all, I love playing this game and i stay away from the stupidity and enjoy playing Fable 2 very much.***

Let me be the first to say that this is not a game for the casual gamer who wants to just pick something up and button mash. It's a mix of action & role playing with an added twist...moral consequences for your actions. Meet people, find treasure, start a family, gain power, customize your appearance, learn new abilities, become loved as a hero or feared as a villian....there are limitless variables which accompany the main storyline. Granted I didn't play Fable on the original XBOX, but I've never played anything quite like this. I really like the fact that despite the games complexity, you don't need a strategy guide....things are intuitive and the game will lead you in the right direction (using the "golden trail".

I'd guess I'm currently over halfway through the main quest. I have maintained a fairly moral path. I look forward to playing the game through again making immoral choices and gaining renown through villiany. Yes, I haven't completed the game yet and am looking forward to playing again.....high replay value IMO.

The Platinum Hits edition comes with both expansions, which make it the best value for someone who doesn't own a previous release of the game. This one has been worth every penny.

This is a great game! However, in the long run, I did feel that there was a cartoony, young adult feel to it. Any RPG gamer will want to pick this up and work through the main quest. There are some good achievements and side quests to explore in the Fable II world. However, what you find around the next corner might be a little stupid. I think that a couple of achievements were for dressing like a goth chick and a gay dude - fun for some; but, not as cool as a head shot.

I played Fable: the lost chapters and enjoyed it. This just as much fun if not better. There are a lot reviews out there - check them out. I say this worth buying. It's a great RPG!

Fable 2 is one of the few games that has a decent storyline, and is relatively simple to play. Each quest has meaning, and an effect on the world - as opposed to most OTHER RPGs filled with loot grinds, and mindless 'kill 10 of these and return' quests. It has an ever-present glowing path to lead you to the next quest, it's a great timesaver and you can move through the main storyline easily. While you can describe this RPG as a 'sandbox', it is not forced on you. All of the sandbox features are fun (like marrying, having a child, buying a store and crafting to make a living) but you can take part in each one briefly or not at all. None of the RPG extras get in the way of your progression. There are several mini games, crafting (to earn a living), and lots of side-quests. Overall, an amazingly fun game with just enough character building, customization, and interesting things to do to push it over the top into RPG greatness. I would also like to comment on the Mature rating of the game - it does not deserve that rating. While you can build love interests and have sex (and marry), there are no graphics and it is merely situational. There is not much gore in the game, although killing is a part of the game and they are humanoids.

Using movie ratings, I would rate this game a PG-13, maybe even PG - there is no nudity or vulgar language. One caveat, is that you are not role-playing a 'good hero' during the game. You can perform actions such as stealing, assassinations, crossdressing, gay/lesbian partnership, sex with multiple partners (and have multiple wifes) if you so chose. In that sense, a child could willingly explore subject matter that you may not want them exposed to, since the options are readily available. I believe the openness of the world is why it garnished a Mature rating, not the game itself. This is sad, and I think they need some kind of new "Y/Y" (Yin/Yang) rating for games that are two games in one with both a light and dark side. In many ways this game could be useful to parents of teenagers, whereby you expect what path your children to take and then you can review their game to see whether they are following the path you expected. You can then talk about these subjects with your children. For instance the character stats screen shows how many thefts, murders, wifes, sexual partners, stds, etc you have had. A deep and interesting RPG game overall.

I basically got an xbox 360 to be able to play this game.. haha. I loved Fable I, and this one is just as good, so if you're a fan of RPG's, this one is a can't-miss!

I never played the original Fable, but after hearing friends rave about it for years, I decided to try Fable 2 when I got my X-box 360.

The game is awesome. It starts out seeming almost like a kid's game, but it turns out to be fun for folks from their teenage years and up, but perhaps isn't great for most younger teens with the serious amount of sexual content, prostitution and violence. Hence, the "rated M for Mature."

Don't judge the game by the first 20 minutes of play (hour if you're really slow.) After the scenes in childhood, the game starts to get more and more interesting and you can really make something out of your hero. You can choose the Good path and grow a halo and looking more and more handsome/beautiful or the path of vengeance and evil, growing horns and having your appearance grow hideous.

Being called Sparrow gets irritating, but you can change the name as early in the game as you want if you have the gold, or earn titles.

The knothole island and see the future quests really add a lot to the story, especially the latter. However, to explain how would be to include spoilers. Even if you already own Fable 2 without the additions, it's cheaper to buy this edition with the add-ons than to buy the add-ons separately on dvd or through X-box Live. I highly recommend re-playing the game with the additional quests.

  • from Amazon

Simply Fable 2 with all DLC content all on one disc. If you've already played Fable 2 then the add-ons aren't really worth buying the game again and do not add that significant of an expansion to the game. Just some extra quests, items, and achievemants.

I suppose the most important part of this review is that I want to point out that this is NOT as great as Fable. It seemed a little more forced here to make it magical and it just wasn't as good. I loved it anyway though.

The Goods:

-Graphics are great, environments are great, and the customization levels are fairly decent.

-The decisions are a lot of fun. It's fun building a good character, building a bad character, and having another to do whatever it is you would do case by case.

-Game length is decent. It's no 40 hour RPG, but you'll have plenty of options to keep you going. You can get through the main story VERY quickly if you choose to go linear and play only the main story line.

-Platinum includes all add-on material, which saves you a bundle from buying it in the arcade.

The Bad:

-The boss battles are NOT epic. There are not many large bosses, which is something I love about action games, and something that Fable has the ability to throw in since it's such a magical and fantasy based game.

-*SPOILER* The final boss battle is obnoxiously short. Most games build up to that awesome final battle. This one would surely disappoint you like it did me.

-Gambling (Pub Games) are kind of stupid for achievement hunters. Take a long time.

Overall:

-This game is definately worth picking up at the listed price. It's a fun and simple game. Great for the family, though you may want to allow older kids to play as the action, while not bloody, does have certain over-the-top elements such as keeping the heads keeping bad guys heads as trophys to show off. Some of the bad elements are hilarious, but crude, like farting. The game is a lot of fun.

Achievements:

-The game has a lot of easy achievements that you get as you go. Some require you to play the game multiple times (choose the different endings, be good or be bad). Some are just play tough. This is not an easy 1000 (more if you have the platinum version or DLed material).

Recommended Price: $25

Fable 2 is a great game. I have never played a game quite like this but have heard people go on and on about it. I tried it and fell in love. You get to make choices and based on your choices you become a certain type of person in the game. The xbox 360 version is even greater because the achievments are actually achievable.

  • from Amazon

I love the first Fable and when Fable 2 came out i Rent it and finish the game in less that 8 hour, it was a big let down, so i return it and never play again. But then i saw this Fable 2 Platinium Hit edition with all the DLC and i give this game another chances, and now i can tell this game its worth it if you dedicate some time doing everything the game have to offer, to Slaying bandits and Hobbes, or get marries, to buying every houses and shop in the game.

And yes the game comes with ''See the Future'' and ''Knothole Island'' DLC on the Disc.

  • from Amazon

Pros: To start with the game is beutiful. the style is the closest you will get to playing a charles dickens novel. and except for the abrupt ending the game has a pretty great story that manages to hook you in the beginning take into account your actions through the game. the way your characters appearance changes based on how you fight, moral choices, the type of food you eat is pretty awsome.

Cons: secrets tend to hide worthless items. Money is so easy to come by that you won't struggle buying anything, and vendor equipment is typically better than the legendary equipment you find out in the world. bassically the game gives you all kinds of optional puzzles to solve, but all they give you for finding and completing them is a Pie or a gold necklace. The game is short for an RPG.
