Well let me start by saying any 1 who gave it 3 stars or under is an idiot. They are all doing nothing but complaining about issues ALL new games have. For those who complain about lag GET A BETTER ISP. I have no lag when i play.
Now in singer player mode the game is short but the story is an intense ride. I have played though story mode 4 times now. It has great graphics. Another thing is the mission "No Russian" Is A great break. Who doesn't like shooting people who don't shoot back.
In Special Ops Mode you do hard missions. two of the missions are co-op only. Over all the missions are fun and worth beating. They Do test your skills.
In Multilayer mode they added so many things. For example theres First Blood now and that is the 1st person to get a kill. also the titles and emblems are petty cool. For those of you who complain about campers LEARN TO USE A GRENADE. The maps come in all varieties. They range from close ranged maps like "Rust" to snipping maps like "Waistland".
Over all thgis game Deserves 5 stars and for those of you who say otherwise Learn TO Play.
This game is fantastic. Not only is the single player amazing, the online gameplay has blown me away. Another new aspect that has really made a difference is Spec Ops mode which took up just as much time as the single player campaign. It was really a new aspect that added some great co-op characteristics. The gameplay is great and the graphics are probably some of the best I have seen from a war game. Hands down my favorite game.
The Call of Duty control scheme and play mechanics are the bar that all other FPS games are judged on.
This series does so many things great, it's only natural that people will start getting nit picky with it. People may get pickier, but sales on the game keep going up, up, UP!
The MW2 campaign is a roller coaster ride from start to finish. Getting dropped into a completely new and exciting environment every level appeals to my ADD side. IMO the less story, the better, in this type of game.
The Veteran difficulty is much easier than previous installments. This could be seen as a plus or minus.
I'm bad at COD multi-player, but being bad in this one is much more satisfying. Lots of perks and fun to be had, even with a bad K/D ratio.
Spec Ops has a lot of great challenges to share with a friend. It can be much more difficult than the Veteran campaign.
I have both the PS3 and 360 version. These are the differences I noticed:
360 has higher gameplay frame rates, especially in smoke, dust or fog filled areas.
The loading scenes on the 360 are highly compressed and jerky.
360 loads maps substantially quicker.
On both versions party joins and chat are screwy. They probably shouldn't have messed with that part.
That's about it, but it's pretty safe to assume you already own this title.
The graphics are amazing. The story really draws you in. It's not very difficult to beat even on Veteran mode. Certainly easier to beat than CoD:4 and CoD:WaW. The multiplayer is very addictive as well since there are so many things to unlock.
It seems kind of silly that people buy this game for the campaign mode alone. You should have figured out by now that this franchise is building off their multiplayer success.
I'm only lvl 29 at the moment so keep that in mind.
CONS:
- Party chat. Seriously? Sure could use a patch for this. I'm really tired of listening to little kids and drunk frat boys when I could be talking to my buddies.
- No co-op. It's worth mentioning. But, like I said, this isn't what the game is about, really.
PROS:
- Exceptional level building and layout. Although there are a couple stages that I don't particularly like, all the levels are designed well and provide for multiple game types. Every level is HUGE compared to MW's maps. Also, props to IF for making some destructible aspects, good interior building, and nasty little hideaways that are only reachable if you use your tactical insertion perk.
- Expanded perk system. All your favorite perks, but with an update and further upgradeable. Remember Extreme Conditioning? Yeah, well now it is called Marathon and allows you to sprint continuously. Not only that, but once you complete the challenge involved with it, it will upgrade and allow you to climb faster.
- Weapon customization. Yeah, you can dual wield machine pistols now. Instead of just pistols as secondary weapons you can have a variety of weapons to choose from of pistols, machine pistols, shotguns, and launchers. Great news for snipers(especially since you can put a silencer on a shotgun). Even the secondary weapons have challenges and upgrades.
- Equipment and attachment customization. Throwing knives. Blast shields for explosive damage resistance. Tactical Insertion, which allows you to spawn wherever you throw the flare. Grips, Grenade Launchers, Supressors, ACOGs, and Red Dot Sights return in MW2. Fortunately so do their big brothers. You can now upgrade to a shotgun attachment, a Thermal Scope(which looks like the "White Hot" scan when using the AC-130), Holographic Sight(think Red Dot Sight, only with a larger crosshair and increased accuracy), Heartbeat Sensor, Sniper Scope, Full Metal Jacket, Rapid Fire(replaces Double Tap), and Akimbo(allows for dual wielding pistols and machine pistols).
- Killstreaks and Deathstreaks Rewards. You can now customize your kill streak rewards. They include everything you ever wanted from the original. You have your standard chopper as well as a fully armored version for a higher killstreak reward. You can even get inside the actual chopper and use the turret or use the AC-130 instead. At 15 kills you are awarded an EMP charge that knocks out your enemies electronics completely. Everything from your crosshairs, UAV, radios...everything. It sucks. At 25 kills you get to use a nuke. Yup. That's right. A nuclear bomb that drops on the map and kills all players, ending the game.
All-in-all, this is the best FPS multiplayer experience you can find. If you have even a little interested in FPS or competitive online gaming, you owe it to yourself to buy this game as soon as possible. It will likely be the most played FPS for years to come. At least until MW3 comes out.
Fast action, awesome graphics, and the guns are varied and plentiful. It is fun to try new weapons throughout the game. It is a lot of entertainment for the money.
Modern Warfare 2 is easily one of the best FPS of all time. While the campaign was a bit short, the new spec-ops mode is great with a friend. Multiplayer is very good, with new perks and attachments. This game should be in the library of any serious gamer.
Excellent review I give for this product. It arrived in a timely manner and in perfect shape!! The games works beautifully!!!
Nice shooting game but i'm suprised this game so short ,i expected more from the game makers !
Ok I'm keeping this short 2 DAY SHIPPING AND COD5 IS NOT HERE I REPEAT COD6 IS NOT HERE AND IM PISSED, OVER AND OUT
This game is great. Graphics are of course amazing and gameplay itself is awesome. Just wish online play had more maps, I'm sure they are coming soon. Otherwise I recommend this game to anyone who loves a great online first person shooter. If you're into the single player, I found it to be okay. It's a short story line and you can tell the game is directed at online play.
I'll start off with the bad and get it out of the way first...
-Storyline is decent, I think a little too hectic and jumpy to follow good though.
-Multiplayer is known for its bad community (mostly because it is the most played game online)
--don't be shocked to see a good amount of cheaters (which includes boosters, glitch exploiters, immature kids + adults, and the very occasional hacker)
-No Cheats for the campaign
--In COD4 you could collect hidden laptops to unlock certain cheats to extend playability and make it a lot funner, but nada in MW2
Now to the good, which makes up for the lack of cheats in campaign...
-Campaign is super epic, with tons of fun and exciting parts
-Spec Ops is great when you have a friend over (or online, or even by yourself)
--There's a ton of missions which you can really challenge yourself, and have fun too
-Multiplayer has a really great variety of everything
-Customization (as well as the leveling up system) in multiplayer is just fantastic
--You can now unlock and customize your killstreaks, plus there's a load of new weapons (and attachments, and perks, and sidearms) in each category
-I think the multiplayer maps are great, a good variety there, with a lot of different routes to get to different places. Generally, it is created fair for both teams, so one spawn does not have any advantage over the other.
-Glitchers and boosters aside, MW2 is just a fun game to play online, especially with friends
I can't rate this game higher than a 3 just because it doesn't live up to the hype that was built around it. The single player campaign is fun but too short. The multiplayer feels just like CoD4 but with some new maps and gameplay mods. The perk system has changed and that's not bad.
What I don't care for is the fact that once you get a 5 kill streak, you can end up getting many, many more kills if you get a harrier or chopper gunner perk. They've taken some of the skill out of the game in my opinion. You can steal a teamates care package too. I snagged a care package for a chopper and got 15 kills by hiding in a coner. It took no skill at all. There's always something in the air too with harriers, choppers and ac-130s being used a lot.
Overall, I'm dissapointed in the game. It is still somewhat fun but I don't think it will hold my interest like CoD4 or CoD:WaW did. As of now, I'd rank both of those game higher than this one.
Good game, better than world at war. I like the difference in settings from tropical, snow, and desert. Love the use of different weapons and how they all shoot different.
If you know COD, then you know that COD4 was a huge waste of time. This one makes up for it.
