Not much you can say about this game that hasn't been said already. They improved on what was already a great game with COD4.

Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a video game for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Many people enjoy playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox live. The game in my opinion is fun and exciting because the graphics are so good that it actually makes you, as the player of the game, feel like you are in the game. I really like the graphics of the game a lot because as I said before the graphics are so good that it feels like you are right in the middle of the battle. My personal favorite weapon is the throwing knife or just a plan knife. Here is a little tip that helps me when I use the throwing knife. The tip is if you are coming up behind a person, try throwing the knife at his back or head. If you miss, just leave the knife and try shooting the person. Another good tip is if you come up against a person with a riot shield, and if you see he is not shielding his feet, throw the knife at his feet or plant a C4 and wait until he walks on it and then set it off. One more tip is if you are using a riot shield make sure to always shield your feet, and if you come in close combat with another person, just keep hitting the person with the riot shield until he either runs away or dies. Another thing is always watch your back if you have your riot shield in front of you because a person could simply come up behind you and knife you in the back or shoot you. From my experience with playing the game, I found that the riot shield will protect me from pretty much anything except for C4 and thumpers. In the game, you can play the game on live and on slit screens with friends and family. I would highly recommend this game to any teenager that has an Xbox 360 or a PS3. If you are interested in war games and having lots of fun with friends on live or at home, then this is the game for you.

Ok, first off, don't listen to ANY of the horrible reviews that people gave this awesome game. They have no taste. Ok, just to go straight to it, if your a Modern Warfare fan, then this game will be Heaven on Earth for you. The campaign is AMAZING! If your an addicted, no life person, you might finish the story in 5 hours. But if your not then it might last you 3 days. But either way, the story is amazing. Some of the best graphics I've seen, and I LOVE the ending of the game! I was worried that they wouldn't make COD6 as creative as COD4, BUT THEY DID!

Ok, no for the Multiplayer. The ONLY thing that I don't like, but it's not even that big of a deal, is the Riot Shields. I even use them, but I just think there a little unnecessary. And also, I think a few of the maps aren't as creative as COD4's, but other then the few maps that aren't that good, the other ones are very cool. The guns are very awesome and there are SO many more things in Xbox LIVE. There a much more Perks that you can have. Much more kill streak rewards like the Predator Missle. And now you can even throw a knife!

Now, I'm not a big fan of the other COD games, and I truly do not like COD WoW. So I'm sad to say, that they most likely will be making ANOTHER Modern Warfare, but Infinity Ward will not be making it. Instead the people who made COD3 and COD WoW will be making it. I don't know, I just have a bad feeling in my gut that says it won't be as awesome as the first two Modern Warfare games.

Welp, thats all I need to say. I hope this has been helpful.

There's a lot of tantrums being thrown about this game that only really apply to the PC. Matchmaking on console is perfect, unbelievable fast compared to other popular games like Halo 3, which I personally feel takes forever to get into an actual game. Spec ops is great to play with a friend. The campaign is short but enjoyable, I always get my moneys worth out of multiplayer anyway.

ok I didnt really fight in somalia and no disrespect to anyone that did, I have also never written a review before.

this is the most exciting gaming experience I have ever had.

one of my favorite movies of all time in black hawk down, the action in that movie it the best description I can give of the gameplay of codmw2.

this game is perfect, from the exploding bags of flour and exploding bottles, to the injured bad guys trying to get off one last shot on their backs.

the airport scene is bad, I cant believe they got away with it but it should not take away from the beauty of this game

buy it

same controls, better graphics (very surprising didn't think they could surpass the 1st) great gameplay, good story following the first, the action is intense and non-stop til the end and I love it.

Great game, the single player story mode is great but doesn't last too long. You get most of your buck from the online gameplay. Great multiplayer game.

This is a great addition to the Call of Duty franchise. Excellent game play in all three modes of play; campaign, multiplayer, and special ops. In addition the purchasing experience with Amazon as always was very smooth with quick shipment and delivery. If you are looking to pick up a new game this is definitely a good choice.

This has got to be one of the greatest first-person shooters since GoldenEye 007! The missions on this game game are extremely intense and they give you the feeling that you are truly in battle. What I like the most about this game is the online game play which requires Xbox Live which only costs a few bucks a month. There's nothing funner than sneaking up on unsuspecting victims and showing them who their daddy is! Everything you've heard about this game is true and I highly recommend it to anybody who is into fps games. Whoever says this isn't a good game definitely has a distorted view on what a good game is supposed to be like.

This is the best game I have ever played! Beautiful graphics just wowed me as soon as I started the first mission, S.S.I.D. I was just... woah. When I played the Afghan mission I was thinking they did a great job making the combat real. It seems real, it feels real. The enemies just pop out of everywhere and surprise you. And the shooting is so... haha real. The old saying "two in the chest, one in the head" really applies. You shoot them a couple of times and think they're dead and move on and you're terrified when you get shot in the back with a pistol. Sometimes what I did was made sure they stopped moving before I left. So I'd say the second mission, Cliffhanger is my favorite.

[SPOILER ALERT] You start the mission on a cliff and you have to climb up it, which is nerve-wracking. You slip a couple of times and the first time you play this level it terrifies you. But when you get up finally you see two guards standing in front of you. You take them out and infiltrate a base, set some explosives, and your squadmate gets surrounded by thirty-something russians. You set off the explosives and kill the enemies then try to escape while everybody shoots at you. When you get to the bottom of the hill there are two snowmobiles that you comandeer. Then you try to get down the next hill before the other snowmobiles kill you. Its an exhilerating ride where you can shoot the other drivers. This one part of the mission is just... wow.

[SPOILER ALERT] Later in the game you get to a market square and almost everybody is trying to kill you. But there are civillians that you have to try not to shoot. Be careful because if you've been using the same gun for, you WILL run out of bullets after just a few minutes. Keep in mind the shotgun is practically useless. Sure it kills them in one shot and can kill a couple of them but it takes far too long to reload. After you get to almost the end you will find yourself pinned down by only two enemies. Yes, I said you the war machine will be pinned down by two. Only two, only two. At this point, you are out of ammo. For all guns. You will have used up your shotgun if you were dumb enough to use it or if you still have bullets for it it wont work. Your main gun will have practically no ammo left. So you have to go back to find a gun. Not so fast! Those two guys can see you. You have to get a mini uzi or a desert eagle, both are shorter-range. And you have to use them. If you run out of ammo for those, you have to brave going back. Beware of ambushes! Some of the militia only sit around in the houses and wait for you to do just that. So once you get those two guys you'll have difficulty getting to where you go because you get lost. Then you win and huzza. That's my second favorite level.

[SPOILER ALERT] The last mission is awesome. I wont tell you how to beat it because its so hard! But in the end there's a boat race identical to the snowmobile race in cliffhanger. Its fun. Oh fine I'll tell you the end! [WARNING! I'M ABOUT TO TELL YOU HOW THE GAME ENDS!] You, Shepard, and the other guy fall off a waterfall. You try to knife Shepard but he grabs the knife and stabs you. Then how do you kill him? [WARNING! I'M ABOUT TO TELL YOU HOW TO WIN THE GAME!] Press the use key. You take the knife from your own body. Keep pressing it real fast. Finally you get it out. And you throw it at Shepard and oh! Right in the eye!

Pros

-Beautiful graphics

-Very real shooting

-Cool technology

-Scary ideas

-Gore isn't over-the-top

-Fun multiplayer

-Guns are very satisfying

Cons

-If you have a bad graphics card it won't work

-I feel like there's no real reason to be fighting for the mission; didn't watch the briefing

-You have to play the training mission every time you want a new campaign

-Hardened and veteran are nigh-impossible to win

-Recruit is STILL hard to beat!

-You're in the snow and you cant see anything... except the blood spray. Wtf?

All in all, I would say 4.75/5

Single player campaign is awesome! Great cinematic story. I'm a PC gameer so the xbox controls are a little tough getting used to. Multiplayer is ok, too many MW2 addicts online make for some real challenging matches.

COD: MW2 is simply amazing. The original game was great, so InfinityWard had the right mindset of "more but better." The single player missions are fun and diverse. Sniper missions, snow mobile missions, all-out battle scenes... it has it all. I can't find a single flaw with MW2. It's the front runner for game of the year in my book.

By the time you read this review, you will have read everything about the game, so as an XBOX gamer, I am going to tell you this,... you are nuts, if you do not buy this game and devote at least the next year of your life to the multiplayer mania that it holds. Yes.. it is all about the multiplayer action. Halo is for sissies, MW2 is for diehard respect the graphics, devoted server, multiplayer action hungry, in your face, tactical expolsion starving players! This is by far the best piece of art, I have ever played or watched. MW2 is where its at!

COD 2 has the most involved online experience yet in the COD series. Granted COD 5 had competitive campaign and zombies!!! online but COD 2 has even more you can kill for. Not only do you get attachments for your weapons (new attachments too. Akimbo!!!) you can also get upgraded perks, camouflage, and now you get to customise your title image with images you win during game play. Just make sure this gift is for older gamers ONLY. There are several levels in single player that are not appropriate for you gamers. personally I would say at least 16 or older.

I enjoyed Modern Warfare and eagerly looked forward to the second installment. I have enjoyed playing this game a lot, especially the multiplayer and Sec Ops game types! I had a blast being the AC-130 gunner in Modern Warfare, and I couldn't wait to be the gunner of one in multiplayer! Is it wrong to grin so much when bringing the rain on your opponents?

The single player campaign falls a bit short of the first one, though it still is a lot of fun. In MW, you are thrown into the action, but it starts a bit more slowly in MW2. It's hard to top the successful formula of MW! You meet some old faces from the first one, but I feel that they could have done better with introducing you to those characters, however, most gamers don't seem to care as much about the story as they do the action, which is what MW2 specializes in. While I won't go back and play the single player as much as I did with Half-Life 10 years ago, however, it is still a thrill ride the first time through!

Some of you may have heard of certain objectionable content in the single player campaign. This content involves you killing civilians and police at an airport. You are an undercover CIA agent attempting to gather intelligence on a character in the game. This part of the game wasn't objectionable to myself if you understand it within the context of the world of covert ops. I don't know that CIA agents have done such things in the history of covert ops, but it has been touched on in Hollywood movies. The question, then, is do the ends justify the means? While such a scenario may not happen in real life, that does not diminish that the fact that the CIA may have done similar things to gather intelligence. I want to highlight what one can learn from this objectionable content; always ask yourself if the means are morally, and ethically acceptable. If you play through this sequence in the game, you will probably understand what I mean. I see it more as a caution of the severest sort when making choices in day to day life. While our choices may not involve the slaughter of civilian people, they may backfire on us in a similar way because of the consequences that may follow.

If you intend to play the multiplayer part of this game, prepare to have your derriere kicked royally!! Unless you have invested 24 or more hours of game time practicing, you will probably be killed quite a lot, and that can be very frustrating after awhile. So, if you can play the single player on hardened difficulty without dying too much, then you have a chance at multiplayer. You may stand a better chance of survival if you work with your team mates rather than as a lone wolf. It is also advisable to learn the strategies usually employed in each map and where most of the engagements occur if you want to be a formidable player. People are creatures of habit, us this against your opponents, and dont' let them use your habits against you! The regulars are ruthless and will show no mercy whatsoever. Multiplayer is quite addictive because you are playing against real people where each has their own specific style of play and weapons that they use. This variety makes multiplayer challenging and fun.

For those of you who are parents with children begging you for this game, I would exercise caution because of the violence in this game. It may be a bit much for them to handle, but that is up to you as a parent to decide. If you do get MW2 for your child, I would certainly talk with them about what they can learn from this game, such as the objectionable content I discussed above. Many are crying foul over video game violence, and many of the complaints are unfounded according to the book 'Grand Theft Childhood' by Olson and Kutner. They do a great job of tackling the thorny issue of video game violence while holding at arms length the plethora of biased, and sometimes unethical, studies that loudly proclaim that your child will become a mass murderer after playing violent video games. Be a parent to your child rather than letting everyone else raise your child, that is the best defense against any significant effects that video game violence may have on your child.
