If you like shooters, this is a great game and must. Bungie needs to take a lesson on how to do sequels from these guys. Thanks for all of the hard work in order to take the game to the next level when they could have pulled a Bungie and repackaged the same game for $$. Already looking forward to MW3 thanks to the neat cliff-hanger. Thanks again Ininity! Campaign: a little short, but was amazed at the cool things you get to do over the original, like the breaching and clearing, famous snowmobile scene, rapelling to secret attacks. Even though it was short, it was truly well done and with the US being attacked added a intensity that was truly immersive. The only mark against it is the terrorist level, as it is over the top, but they had the disclaimer for a reason. A

Group play also impressed at the graphics improvements, fluidity of the play, pop-up scoring, and big step up in intensity and perks. Since I usually get shot more than shooting, love the play balancing features that make the game more fun for people that have lives (who don't play it all the time... :) sorry, couldn't resist, just my excuse for being not so good). Maps are a bit big but will help discourage camping which plagued the last two versions. Be a man, get up a fight, as it's only a game! :) A+ Alternate missions with the special operations is nice when you have completed the game but still want more. There is a huge variety of opportunities.:Really fun for those who like the classic coop features. I love how it builds on the campaign, yet adds enough to make it more fun. Just a lot of fun with friends. A+

I hadn't played the modern warfare titles before I played this one, and this one got me hooked! I love the action and story in the campaign mode, plus the multiplayer component is great too!

This game is the whole package. I was constantly intrigued throughout all the story with all of the twist and turns. Muliplayer is outstanding. The only thing is the game-chat. I don't dislike it enought to have this game lose star.

best thing about this game is its graphics. the storymode was ok story kinda sucked. spec ops isnt very fun. and the online well its about the same as all the others but added more things into it to make it more complicated. this might only be jus me but i liked call of duty better when it was world war 2. i dont care for the modern day much. but people who loved mondernwarefare 1 should have no problem with 2.

This game has the best online multiplayer that I have ever played. I have owned this game for a month or so now and I have yet to play the story mode because the online mode is so addicting, in the best way possible.

This has been the busiest gaming year in recent memory. With games such as Batman: Arkham Asylum, Halo:ODST, Fallout 3 GOTY, Borderlands it would've been a great year for many a gamer. I've picked up all of the aforementioned games and I've gotta say MW2 is the best out of all of them.

I haven't been able to beat the story yet, but the first few missions are absolutly amazing. Each one was better than the last. The graphics were also revamped, and this is definitly the best looking Call of Duty game ever.

Multiplayer - Lot's of new additions, including more exp for more objectives. For example you get extra exp for killing the person who last killed you(Payback), you'll also get extra exp for stopping someone from getting a killstreak (Buzzkill), and so on and so forth. The multiplayer no longer has the perks Juggernaut and Martydom, as these were the 2 most commonly hated perks in the game. Martydom is still in the game, however as a death streak. A death streak is also something new in the game, where if you die a certain amount of times in a row without obtaining a kill, you'll temporarily gain a perk until you get a kill. Martydom requires you to die 4 times in a row, and once you finally kill someone, you'll lose it...until you die 4 times in a row again. Juggernaut has been seemingly replaced with a deathstreak of it's own called painpills. Once you die 3 times in a row, you'll spawn with extra health for the first 10 seconds after you spawn. As weak as it sounds, it's saved my life and my opponents life countless times already.

In terms of gameplay online, the multiplayer is the same as before. Kill, get objectives, etc. The weapons seem more balanced, and with the new perks, deathstreaks and addition of customizable killstreaks, it's rare to have 2 people use the exact same thing. The game has definitly gotten more tactical, and is a huge plus. The maps are gorgeous, however they all have a certain familiar scenery to them. The first time I visited certain maps "Oh, this looks like _______ from CoD4", yet are completly different, it's hard to explain, but you'll understand once you play.

From what I understand there is no co-op in campaign. This is the biggest let-down in the game. However the addition of Spec-Ops partially makes up for it. I've spent already more than 5 hours in Spec-Ops and it's truly the most fun, yet challenging thing I've ever had in a Call of Duty game. Spec-ops is only 2 player (Again, another let-down. I hope they decide to 4-player DLC soon), and throw you into situations with an objective. My personal favorite, had me as a ground soldier, and my co-op partner as the gunner for a helicopter. I had to make it from Point A to Point B so that I could get rescued. While I ran around, my partner was shooting down enemies to help clear my path. It was insane. Other missions include racing on snowmobiles, running a training course, and of course defending yourself against waves of soldiers, helicopters and Jeeps!

This is the definitive game of the year. People have been saying for a while that it's overhyped and overrated. I'm sorry, but this game deserves all the credit it's due. It's amazing in every sense of the word. I give this game a 10/10. THE ONLY flaw in my opinion that this game has is that it does not have campaign co-op online. However the "replacement" Spec-Ops is so much more exciting and fun as a 2 player co-op.

Believe the hype. Buy it. Now.

If your a fan of shooters then this game is a must own, with non stop fun and enough features to keep you playing for a long time. The campaign is really fun, but also quite short but i wouldnt worry about that too much because this game is all about the Multiplayer.

Theres enough perks/guns/unlockables to keep you wanting to play more and more. Im finding myself addicted to the whole perk/guns system, i keep unlocking new guns and attachments and i just love fine-tuning my setup until it suits me just right!

Also ive played a few of the spec-ops with my friend via split-screen which are also a blast as long as you have a friend. I also tried doing a couple alone but it just wasnt the same.

Overall great game, amazing graphics, and an addicting online modethat will keep you coming back for more.

Many complain that the campaign is too short, and at 5-6 hours on the hardest difficulty it isn't exactly a marathon. I found that the campaign really drew me in to the story and kept me on the edge of my chair; I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The multiplayer, however, is where this game really shines. The new "Special Ops" mode is a blast for you and a friend to play and allows for hours of additional gameplay. There is also the traditional multiplayer scenario on Xbox Live, which if you played COD4:MW, you know what to expect. It's a fun game all around.

The past Call of Duty games were great but this one tops them all. The story mode follows up on Call of Duty 4 and finishes what it started 2 years ago. Online game play is better than ever with host migration, new weapons and attachments, and great new maps. I got it the day it came out and it was on my door step ready to play. If you love Call of Duty you can NOT go wrong with this game.

Having just finished campaign mode last night, I'm left speechless. It was incredibly cinematic, yet it felt more immersive than most cinematic games. I don't feel like I just did a bunch of run, gun, and trigger cut scene. In most games, when you get stuck under fire or otherwise fall behind in the progression, the AI characters will keep repeating themselves and wait until you catch up with the progress to proceed naturally, but this game does a great job of giving a more real-time feeling. It even created genuine anxiety at times when I felt compelled to leave cover and just run for it rather than hunkering down and trying to clear the area before proceeding.

Campaign mode was fairly short, but I'm a father of 3 young children and my gaming time is short but prized, so this game was perfect for me. I plan to give the XBox Live gaming a try to get the rest of the value out of this game, but I know I will get my $#@ handed to me against live competition.

The game came in very fast and in great shape. I love Amazon.com and everything they do. They are number one on my list. I have ordered from them for years and have NEVER been disappointed.

I am writing this review for parents who may be buying it or thinking about buying it for their children. If you're a gamer you probably already know this is a good game.

Modern Warfare 2 is rated M for some good reasons. There is some extremely violent themes and interactive scenes in here. If you have children under 17 or who are impressionable DO NOT let them play this. The game allows the gamers to shoot at innocent civillians. It does not contain intense gore or sexuality though.

Aside from the content warning, the game is great. It runs smoothly at 60 frames per second, has an outrageous and insane plot, and lets you play over 30 different weapons at your disposal.

After the single player campaign is finished the replay value is essentially limitless due to Special Ops mode where you can play on different difficulties against the computer as well as a multiplayer mode to compete online.

Best game that I have personally played, may not count for much because I am no avid gamer. But I really enjoyed it.

All I can say is that no review does this game justice.

Be warn online play is addictive.

Just get it.
