Good campaign. Amazing online play. The new Spec Ops mode is a lot of fun to play with a friend

This game is a ton of fun to play on multiplayer. I did try the single player story mode, but a little too hard for me. But I can see why alot of players get hook on this game. I highly recommend this game to anyone.

I bought this for my 13 year old son. He loves it! I think this is about the only game he plays now.

The multiplayer part of the game is awesome, we have about 20 xbox 360's system linked and we will just play for hours. Not to impressed with the campaign, would be nice to be able to play 2 player on it like in WOW. But its pretty good, some good play time.

MW2 takes what worked in the fantastic COD4 and improves upon it. The story, game play, and graphics are all top notch, and multiplayer is still excellent. They did change some of the weapons around. There are more weapon classes, especially for the secondary weapons. This allows the player to create a more balanced character, but they can still make one that specializes in a specific area if they choose so. Spec-ops mode is a very nice touch, but I still want a full blown co-op campaign. Online play offers some very nice preset character classes so new players can better compete with some of the veterans, and the unlockable contend comes at a steady pace that does reward you for doing well.

Things I don't like:

Party chat is not allowed in some game types. This is done to prevent cheating and increase teamwork with other players, but can be annoying if you're playing with a group of friends or in a clan. I don't like the Tactical Nuke kill streak reward. It is an auto win for which ever team manages to get it and although it is hard to obtain, I have personally seen it win games for loosing teams that have had no chance in winning. The TN just isn't fair to those whom work at winning, but can't get the required kill streak.

My final complaint is no fault of the game, but rather the parents whom buy this thing for their kids. This game is rated "M" for "Mature" and is recommended for persons 17 years old and older. As with any XBox Live game, there's are always little kids that play whom shouldn't and their parents need to listen to the large amounts of vulgarity and profanity that come out of there mouths. Not only are they swearing while playing the game, but they are doing it over a mic and other players can hear them. Many players, myself included, swear when they get mad or frustrated during play, but these kids do it in an attempt to be cool.

My rant is over, I just hope some parents read this before they buy this game for their middle schooler.

I have never been a fan of the Call of Duty line of games, but this is not a game ... it is an EXPERIENCE. And it is absolutely EPIC.

I played this game on an HD projector with a good surround sound system and subwoofer. It was almost TOO intense (I flipped out in one scene and got all emotional.)

It's really a new level of entertainment somewhere between action movie and game. It's just the best ... ever.

YOU HAVE TO GET IT.

I hope more game studios will put this amount of effort (and money) into development. My mind was blown.

CODMW:2 may very well be the best game of 2009. In a world where sequels often fail to live up to expectations, MW2 is certainly an exception. I gave this game five stars because its awesome and I think everybody should buy it. There are a TON of cool features added into this game, though I do have a couple of concerns that I'll share as well.

Campaign - The storyline for MW2 is amazing for a couple of different reasons. Not only is the plot really exciting; the storyline is both realistic and believable. A large number of locales are explored - from the arctic, to the desert, to our nation's capital. It really gives you the sense that what occurs in one area of the world can have great ramifications elsewhere. New vehicles and new weapons are introduced that really provide some epic gaming. Though the campaign is definitely one to be remembered, I feel like it could have been better narrated. I was really confused at a couple different points in the game, the end included. One minute you're running the obstacle course at base camp and the next minute war has broke out on America's doorstep. It would have been helpful if they threw in a couple shortish cutscenes throughout the game to help move the story along. The short dialogues that the characters had whilst the next map loaded often left me wondering exactly what the mission at hand was. I feel like we're at an age in gaming where somewhat of a cinematic experience is expected from big-time games, but on the other hand maybe that's just me. I also felt like this game was REALLY hard. I'm a pretty hardcore gamer and I found that playing just on hardened was way too difficult. I suggested to my friend that he play regular as opposed to a more difficult setting and he mentioned that even on regular he died pretty regularly. Maybe it has something to do with improved AI, but I definitely don't anticipate I'll give veteran a go anytime soon. Though I'm of the opinion that COD4 had a much better storyline and campaign, the campaign in MW2 will definitely blow your socks off.

Multiplayer - This is basically the same as COD4 with a couple of subtle changes. They did give this one a bit more of an arcade-type feel to it. It's really fast-paced and I feel like they are trying to discourage sniping just a bit. Though I prefer the maps from COD4 by a great deal, I've had fun playing online and I wouldn't expect that to change for a very long time.

Graphics - The graphics are the real deal - definitely top-notch as far as the 360 is concerned. Environments look sweet and characters actually look like they could be real people, as opposed to those in Halo:ODST.

All in all, this is a really sweet game. I don't think it's as good as COD4, but that's because COD4 is undeniably one of the greatest games ever made. MW2 is certainly a sequel worth the hype.

Another note - This game is rated 18+ for a reason. There are gruesome scenes of death/disturbing images/themes that younger kids probably shouldn't be exposed to. I'm not suggesting that it's inappropriate for everybody under 18, but if you are trying to determine whether this would be an appropriate game for younger kids then the answer is probably no.

I have every CoD ever made, and definitely enjoy them all. This one is definitely the most intense of any; in fact, as an epileptic, I find that I must be careful not to overdo it. But I like the game SO MUCH that I play in short spurts of no more than 1 hour at a time. Everything in the game is extremely realistic, and some missions may be objectionable to gamers. However, the designers put a switch at the beginning to "OPT OUT" of these type of missions.

I've played CoD on both a PC and on XBox. My own personal preference is PC for two reasons: 1) I like keyboard controls over the XBox controller (less awkward), and 2) PC has many independent maps created by gamers themselves. XBox additions are all an extra cost. Other than that, the game is simply "Excellent!"

This is a near perfect game with intense action, great graphics and storyline. The multiplayer is addicting, but can be somewhat frustrating at times. There are still people out there who like to exploit glitches or employ cheap tactics (camping, "noob tubes"). Otherwise it is a hell of a lot of fun.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is even better. Lots of up to date weapons. The new maps and story line is awesome. Solo or Co-op this game goes on for days. If your interested in detail, this game has it.The graphics and sound are stunning. For those of you who don't like or want the gore or language you can change the settings at the beginning of the game. I liked Halo 3 but love Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2 is set five years after the conclusion of Call of Duty 4. Despite the efforts of the Marines and the SAS, the Ultranationalists seize control of Russia and declare Imran Zakhaev a hero and martyr, erecting a statue of him in the heart of Red Square. Meanwhile, Vladimir Makarov, one of Zakhaev's former lieutenants, begins a campaign against Europe by committing numerous acts of terrorism.

The game begins in Afghanistan, where US Army Ranger Private First Class Joseph Allen helps take an Afghan city from an army of militants. Impressed by his performance, General Shepherd recruits Allen into the CIA for an undercover operation. Meanwhile, two members of Task Force 141, Captain "Soap" MacTavish and Sergeant Gary "Roach" Sanderson infiltrate an airbase in Kazakhstan to recover a lost ACS module from a downed satellite. Shepherd then sends Allen on an undercover mission in Russia in order to get close to Makarov. Allen, under the alias "Alexei Borodin," joins Makarov in a brutal massacre of unarmed civilians waiting in a terminal at fictional Zakhaev International Airport in Moscow. Makarov, however, is aware of Allen's true identity and ensures that he and the other terrorists speak only in English during the attack. Before leaving, he kills Allen and exposes his identity as an American, so that the Russian police will believe he is responsible for the attack.

Angered by what they believe was an American-supported terrorist attack, Russia launches a massive surprise invasion of the United States in retaliation. It turns out that the ACS module Soap and Roach recovered in Kazakhstan had already been cracked, allowing the Russian forces to damage America's early warning system and advance without alerting them until they are very close. Private James Ramirez and his squad of U.S. Army Rangers, led by Sergeant Foley, are called upon to defend a suburb in northeastern Virginia from the Russian attack. They then proceed towards a war-torn Washington, D.C., where more U.S. forces are fighting a desperate battle against the Russians for control of the city.

Meanwhile, Task Force 141 start searching for evidence implicating Makarov as the culprit for the massacre. Intelligence from the airport attacks lead them to Rio de Janeiro to investigate leads on Makarov's contact, Alejandro Rojas, but the only intelligence they learn from the operation is that the most hated enemy of Makarov is locked up in a Russian gulag on the Kamchatka Peninsula. As a result, Soap decides to rescue the prisoner from the gulag to use him as a bait to draw Makarov out. Using a counter-attack on Russia by the Navy SEALs and U.S. Marines as cover, Task Force 141 manages to free the prisoner, who turns out to be Captain Price. Price agrees to help them track down Makarov, but knows they must go to extremes to end the war. He decides to go rogue, hijack a Russian nuclear submarine, and launch an SLBM at Washington, D.C. However, he rigs the warhead to explode in the upper atmosphere, which destroys the International Space Station, but spares Washington. The resulting electromagnetic pulse cripples the vehicles and electronic equipment of both the U.S. and Russian forces in the city. Later, Ramirez and his squad discover that the Air Force has assumed that D.C. has been lost after the nuclear explosion and plans to carpet bomb the city. The only way to abort the operation is to set off green flares on the roof of the White House, which is under Russian control. Ramirez and his squad fight their way to the roof the building and manage to set off their flares in the nick of time, while green flares on the roofs of other D.C. landmarks signify that the city remains firmly in American hands.

Narrowing down Makarov's hiding place to two separate locations, Task Force 141 decides to split up. Price and Soap go to the aircraft boneyards in Afghanistan, while Roach and Ghost raid Makarov's safehouse in the Caucasus Mountains. At the safehouse, Roach manages to obtain vital intelligence from Makarov's computer that implicates Makarov in the massacre at Zakhaev International Airport. However, General Shepherd betrays them and kills both Ghost and Roach, taking the intelligence with him. Price and Soap quickly learn of Roach and Ghost's death and manage to escape Shepherd's ambush with the help of Nikolai. After managing to contact Makarov and learning Shepherd's secret location, they decide to take revenge on him in one final, bloody suicide mission. However, during the infiltration, Shepherd tries to escape and a long boat pursuit ensues.

Shepherd appears to escape when he drives his boat into the back of a hovering MH-53 helicopter. However, Price manages to shoot down the helicopter just before their boat tumbles over a waterfall. After recovering from the fall, a heavily-injured Soap staggers towards Shepherd and attempts to kill him with his knife, but Shepherd blocks the attack and stabs him. As Soap lies on the ground, Shepherd prepares to execute him with his revolver, but before he can, Price attacks him and knocks the revolver away. Price and Shepherd then engage in an extended fist fight. Soap manages to pull the knife out of his own chest and throws it at Shepherd, striking him in the eye and killing him. Price attends to Soap's wounds as Nikolai arrives in a helicopter to extract them. Nikolai warns them that they will be pursued, but Price insists that Soap receive medical attention; Nikolai says he knows a safe place to take them.

That was a summary of the story and BTW the multiplayer is awesome!

I loved the game. I only played the single player/story mode aspect of the game. I thought it was great. The graphics were improved from the previous game and the story was pretty solid. My only complaint was that it was a little short.
