I am upset that people are dishing on this game because it is similar to the first one. That is not a bad thing! Bioshock 1 was one of the better FPS games I have ever played, and while this one has similar themes etc it actually improves on them. Improving on an almost perfect game? Not sure how that's a bad thing. i beat it on 360 and have now purchased the PC version to beat again (your gamer points are doubled if you do this. :P

I bought this for my husband for his birthday! He absolutely loves it (he's playing right now!). He finished Bioshock, so what better present than Bioshock 2.

It was awesome. I love the campaign because of how it was smartly designed. It had some great scenes and I will play it for a long time.

They should of added a longer singleplayer story and scrapped the multiplayer. The MP: is un-balanced and no match making (based on rank/level).Could be good for the newcomer but as a longtime gamer it was [terribad]. The story and the graphics were amazing. Wish it would have been longer.

This is bioshock continued but better than the first, just some added tweaks here and there, don't expect a completely different game, yet this it has a great story. This is a great game, just not a mysterious as the first, but still great.

Bioshock 2 starts off slow, but once everything gets rolling, it becomes incredible!

5 stars.

If you loved 1, you'll love 2! Simple as that as far as I'm concerned!

Bioshock 2 is excellent. The story takes you on a emotional roller coaster and 2K marin did an excellent job of making you care about not only the story but the little sisters.I personally believe that this is better than Bioshock 1.Also the multiplayer is F U N Fun.

I've heard a lot of complaints about this game being just more of the same, and its just not true. The major complaint is that its not original enough. I think they are missing the point, anyone who played the first game probably enjoyed the story as much as the game. But there in lies the problem once the cats out of the bag you can't put it back in. So why complain about originality when this is so obviously a sequel. Its like saying spiderman shouldn't have been the hero in Spiderman 2. What were people expecting an all new rapture on the moon. I enjoyed the story from the second one and I thought it was pretty good. Don't listen to the ney-sayers as they apparently have never pondered the thought that the first one already existed and that there is no way to ever go home again, it was time to move on and they did. The multiplayer is good but not great, it is competitive, but the servers do need some help. Overall I would give this game a 9.5 out of 10, if you enjoyed the first one chances are you will enjoy this one as well. I guess you just can't please everybody.

There is not much that needs to be said about this game except that so far it's perfect, I've played through the first one numerous time and it remains on my shelf. It is artistically unrivalled (in my opinion) and keeps me coming back. As the sequel, this game adds multiplayer and a new level of incorporated difficulty as you chaperone "little sisters" through their activities. There are a myraid of different games available for purchase right now, new and old, but Bioshock 2 is the FIRST game you should pick up. Had it been released before last year's Modern Warfare 2(also great), I doubt I would have bothered to pick that one up, it's that good. Stop reading, BUY IT!

I admit, I was a little iffy on purchasing the first game because I was used to playing first-person shooters on XBox that had multiplayer capabilities. It wasn't until GameStop ran an ad for a buy Bioshock, get The Darkness game deal that I bit the hook. Like a fish dragged through the sea, I was hooked alright! With a new take on the first-person shooter in the sense of ultra-realism, the game blew my mind. I remember the first time I stepped through a stream of water and the drops of water landed on my screen; I reached out to touch them.

Bioshock 2 returns and although the storyline or mystery is not as good as the first, this game made up for in action. You play the role of a prototype Big Daddy, which if you played the first game were the ultra powerful protectors that took a $h1tload of ammo and your own health to take down. You're not as powerful as that model because they were created as a second generation to you; nevertheless, you are still pretty bad a$$. The whole idea of turning the story on its head and adopting a new persona was really interesting. In this second chapter of the game, you get to dual wield weapons, something you could not do in the first game which doesn't leave you vulnerable to attacks while you're occupied with something as doing research on Rapture's inhabitants. Oh, and it looked like 2K Games listened to player's gripes about multiplayer and made the game THAT MUCH better by incorporating a multiplayer in this version. The multiplayer is interesting in the fact that they take old concepts of multiplayer battles and put a Bioshock spin on it, but I'll let you figure out what those "spins" are yourself. I've said enough already, so just go out and get your hands on this game. It's a MUST BUY. Cheers

I do not believe this game is as good as it was hyped to be. I really enjoyed the first game because of the new world and mystery story. After playing the first game, I really expected a lot from the sequel, so this is why I have been re-evaluating the game's overall score. From start to finish, I was paying more attention to the audio messages and looking for clues that might give me an insight of the new plot. I have to admit this was not my strong suit in the first game, so I was hoping to figure out the plot twist before it would happen. There were times when I thought I had it figured and realized I wasn't even close. The game never had a plot twist like the original and I finished the game quite suprised by this fact. The game was rather linear and rushed at times. At any rate, I felt cheated by the ending. Overall, I enjoyed returning the the crazy world of Rapture.

Good Points: I loved the duel welding ability, and I enjoyed the upgrades for the plasmas. Telekinesis was always my favorite plasma in the first game, so it was great to upgrade it to a point where I could pick up living splicers and toss them. As far as weapons go, I liked the new additions (rivet gun, drill etc) and my favorite weapon is the spear gun. My wife thinks I'm crazy.

This game required more strategy (protecting the little sisters) which I rather enjoyed.

Investigating the splicers has always been one of my favorite parts of the game. The video recorder is much better than the camera. I found myself attacking a recorded splicer with creative combinations of plasmas and fire power. From throwing splicers to barrels of gas, I never got tired of this.

Bad Points: I felt this game limited your creativity. For example, you have the ability to pick up the dead splicer, but you can't pick up and move an adam filled splicer that your little sister has identified. There are many times in the game where the little sister has selected a splicer that is in a horrible location to protect. I understand the designers attitude toward this, but I don't like it when a game is not consistent.

I understand the idea to have splicers show up in areas that were previously cleared, but this game had a bad approach. It became apparent rather quickly that a splicer can just materialize anywhere, whether it makes sense or not. In a game that requires you to strategize, it leaves you hanging in the common sense department.

Overall, I'm glad I played the game and I hope to see another continuation in the future.

Great game. Great story. Very responsible. I can't say enough good things about this game.

I would recommend playing Bioshock first if you really want to get into the story.

I have to agree with previous reviews: This could very well have been an expansion pack. Granted, a very large expasion pack, but one nonetheless. HOWEVER, I have no complaints about that. If you loved the first game then you will love this game since it's so similar. There were several new areas to explore, tons of items, cool new plasmids, the ability to wield plasmids and weapons at the same time, and a great new storyline. It was still eerie, the music was still good, the story was still disturbing and interesting, the audio files were still good enough to listen to, and the enemies were still sometimes shocking and freaky. It was a bit shorter than the first game but not so much that it really matters...I am completely satisfied with this game! It is very fun and captivating; I'd never want to stop playing and only would when I'd get tired cause exploring new areas can get exhausting at times. Great game!
