The game is actually not bad. It plays sort of like Gears of war on the RDA campaign, and to be honest it is definitely worth a try. The graphics are incredible and I liked that it mixes rpg elements in with the action. 'Nuff said :P

It is a great game! It is a lot of fun and you can choose either RDA or the Na'vi

If you like Avatar this game is for you. If you do not like Avatar don't get this game. I found it fun and entertaining if at times kind of repetitive. I found myself thinking this again. In general it was great. I am a big fan of Avatar and fighting games. Not a good shot so being a Nav'i was my choice. You can play as a soldier or nav'i so it can be for fans of shooters or fans of melee.

I saw the movie a few...or more times and had to get the game. I played it through twice. 1 time for each of the Separate story lines. a little bit after you start the game you have to choose whether you want to side with the Na'vi or the RDA and play that role out. My favorite was being a Na'vi. very exotic environments and animals and you get to ride and fly them like in the movie. I enjoyed playing that storyline out but after I beat that I started the game over and sided with the humans this time and did the other storyline where you are the human soldier and that has completely different missions and cut scenes so its like a whole new game the second time as the different character. If you have a 3d ready TV you can play this game in 3D. one important fact you should know though. This game is supposed to be taking place approximately 2 years before the movie events and does not have my favorite Na'vi "Neytiri" but does have a short cameo in the beginning of Sigourney Weaver - Dr. Grace Augustine. and Also has Michelle Rodriguez - Trudy Chacone as your pilot for long distance air travel on the scorpian helicopters when your going to a different part of the planet (different maps). other wise you can fly those yourself when doing some missions. I really hope there is a avatar the game 2....along with a second movie in the future.

After seeing the movie, I had to try the game, just to get some more Avatar story into me. I pretty much agree with everyone on terms of the pros and cons. Though, as I played this game, I could tell that the people making this game really wanted to make it, a good game, but fell shot due to deadlines. In a weird sort of way the game reminds me of KOTOR II where there just empty plot holes that could of been explored more either with cutscenes or gameplay. Everything is also straight to the point with no real side stories. Then again this isn't Bioware who made this game. The ending is disappointing and kinda leaves you hanging wondering what happens to your amazing character and wondering "hey, but how does this play into the movie?". Though, since I had fun with this game and can tell that the makers poured what they had into it. I'm giving it a 5 just to bump up the rating, though I'd really given it a 3 or 4 because the story is what games and this one had a not so original one, that wasn't finished.

Avatar is one of the few excellent shooting game appropriate for children, having an age rating of 12+. Just like Pixar's movies and Nintendo games, Avatar is an high quality triple-A production for the family that stands high above the cheap products usually destined for this audience. It lacks the depth and maturity of hardcore games bearing the 17+ age rating, like Gears of War, but instead Avatar is enjoyable for casual gamers curious about exploring the incredibly beautiful world of Pandora. The controls are simple and the missions won't demand trained gaming skills, so the Avatar experience is truly accessible to anyone. Even the chaotic online multiplayer is just plain fun and will make you scream and laugh like you were playing Mario Kart. Just make sure your 16 years old boy doesn't get this under the Christmas tree this year instead of its Modern Warfare 2.

After reading a mix of good and bad reviews, I decided to go for it and get the game.

So far, I have found the game-play to be engaging, and it gives fun way to explore the world. Sure the missions are spread out all across the planet, but that's the point. And contrary to some other reviews, I find the controls to be good, similar to other 3rd person shooter/rpg games I have played.

Also, there appears to be an easy way to switch between campaigns, in the continue screen you can choose to go back and continue from the point where you decide if you're on the human or Na'vi side.

And last but not least, the graphics are great. You can also play in 3D, well if you have a 3D capable tv that is.

This game was actually a whole lot of fun. It's not an extremely difficult game but challenging enough, which I like because I'm more of a casual gamer. The graphics are great, but don't expect it to look as amazing as the movie did. Never the less they are still very good. What I like about this game is that at a certain point you must make a choice of what side to take. The RDA or the Navi. This makes it two different games that are both a great deal of fun. I had a lot of fun playing this game and recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the film and wants more excitement from the world of Pandora.

I've only gotten about an hour into this game(more like 45 minutes with all the exploring I did) but I can safely say it won't be coming out of my XBOX for a while. If the game is any indication of the movie it should be amazing! The 3rd person feel of the game while you're in human form is somewhere in between Lost Planet and Gears of war though you don't feel quit as heavy or slow as either of those two while escaping death by monster plant or dog like creature in the large and beautifuly alien rainforest environment. The Vehicles are cool but they're definitly NOT the highlight of the game. The highlight would have to be playing as a 12 foot tall native in your Avatar form which doesin some ways resemble a giant, menacing Smurf which any normal human being would lose control of their bodily waste managment functions apon seeing.

I can't give you a review of the online multiplayer(Give you 3 guesses why that is) but If it's as smooth as the single player mode there is room for some amazing innovations in that department as well. The weapon selection seems to be decent with very primative yet powerful exclusive weapons for your Avatar and the standard Machine gun, Shotgun ect set up for the humans. All in all I was pleasently pleased with what I've experienced so far of the game and plan on playing some more in oh, say 5 minutes or so.

In summary, DO IT. DO IT!

Beautiful graphics and pretty fun. Riding on the flying creature took some practice but was really awesome. Wish the game had lasted longer though.

This game is pure awesome! I can't really explain it that well, but i can say that it is DEFINITELY worth buying!

Some details

------------

* You can choose to be RDA, or Na'vi.

* The game's storyline is not based on the movie. It's more of a prequel.

* VERY Detailed scenery.

* Conquest mode is an easier way to take over territory.

It would have been a 5/5 from me, but i knocked off a star because the animations, movements, and interactions could have been Way better.

Long story short - Buy this game

I'm completely sold on Avatar! So the game was the logical next step. I love the game, I have yet to play through the RDA story line, but have almost completed the game. If it's not played on an HDTV I feel that the game can't fully be appreciated. I think it's easy to get caught up into the game and could easily fly by if you lose track of time. There is some plot missing, but it does cover tons of information that the movie didn't go over, so it's worth it in my mind to go more in depth and learn from the game. If you're an Avatar fan that is.

Worth Every Minute Played!
