This game is very original. The time shifting is strange but it makes the game. I have had this game for about a week now and it is worth the money. The fighting moves that you can do once you figure out the buttons are nice. Even if you finish your task you can still move throughout the cities to finish sub tasks. The graphics are good as well but that standard now with all the high end games.

This game is by far one of the best thought out and exciting gaming experiences I've ever had. There is a small twist at the beginning but don't worry it's awesome (kudos to the game team keeping it on the low down). The graphic are incredible and it flows very smoothly. I've experienced absolutely no glitches or hiccups. But the main thing is the story detail and the writing. I've not seen a game this good since Indigo Prophecy (Old game but great story). The combat is really all about timing and NOT button mashing. and story really makes you think. All of these other people don't know what they are talking about!!! This Game FREAKING ROCKS. Can't wait for the next one.

If you have both PS3 and 360 go with the 360 version smoother frame rates better textures vibrant colors and quicker updates..multi platforms are always better on 360 don't buy the hype

I'm probably about to rehash what everyone else has said but I figure I might as well (if the game is this repetitive I might as well be too).

Firstly, the game is beautiful. It truly is in every sense of the word. The music helps pull you into the game, the scenery is amazing, and once you've climbed a few of the towers you'll notice the city and general countryside is as well.

The thing is once you've climbed one tower you generally have a pretty decent idea of how beautiful it is and climbing nine others is pointless. However, climbing towers and assisting men and women being beaten up in the streets seems to be the majority of the game. There are also mini missions revolving around pick pocketing, listening in on conversations, and beating up people for information but they too get repetitive quickly.

Combat is enjoyable but once you get the hang of it really easy, especially with the parrying ability. I remember attacking a swarm (10 or so) guards all at once. I managed to easily kill all of them which seems a bit strange because despite how skilled a man is I don't think he could take a small platoon down himself. Especially if you consider the nature of this game it would make more sense if you were more skilled but if in situations such as that you wouldn't be so overpowered. Your role is to hide in the shadows not act as a hooded fashionably challenged Zoro.

In general it's a nice concept and interesting to play but it's nothing to get too excited about. The greatest part of this game has to be just playing through town with no set goal killing off someone and hiding. While it sounds like something an adolescent would enjoy it's fun to just see how people respond.

All that said, it was a fun game off and on. I enjoyed the beginning, got tired of it, continued playing, and got even more tired of it. It could have been made better but it does reach out into an area that formerly was not really well defined so for that purpose it at least opens the door to future games of this type which hopefully will be more enjoyable.

AC is a great game but it is quite flawed. The game is brilliant the first time you go through with an amazing story, great atmosphere, and fun gameplay. However, once you finish the game once it gets really annoying when you try going through it again, due especially to the fact that the in-game lectures that provided great backstory the first time through are not skippable. There are also some flaws in the game itself, most famously the fact that the game is quite repetitive, though I don't find the repetition as bad as some other people. In addition to all this, the game is very short at only 7-10 hours, though those 7 hours are very, very fun.

I'll have to say, this is one of the best games i've ever played. Stealth, action, mystery- it has it all. It gets a little repetitive, but what game doesn't? Tired of performing assassinations? Go save some Citizens, or explore the kingdom. I highly reccomend this game to anyone and everyone.

This game is one of the best I've played in a long time, amazing graphics, realistic AI, and being able to do anything at anytime. The assassination missions are great, you can plan your attack and strike at anytime, just like a real assassin. Also, you can hand scale almost any building and find unique ways to hide from guards. I was worried that it wouldn't be that great at first, but this game was awesome!

After about 3 hours with the game, I feel like I can give you guys a pretty good review about everything ive seen and done in the game so far. You really have no clue what you are getting yourself into when you pop this game in. First off, the game does start a little slow/strangely like some other reviews have pointed out. The start is pretty scripted but it does a good job at teaching you how to play. After you play through about the first 30 minutes the game sort of gets into a pseudo groove and you start to play at your own pace. The controls to this game take some getting used to but they do work well after you get the hang of it. Im going to try not to comment on the story much in the review; you really need to experience it without knowing anything before hand.

The graphics are amazing. The cities are huge and very well detailed. Every environment has great detail. The smallest things around you are animated and act true to what they would in real life. Early in the game you get to ride a horse. The horse animation is the best ive ever seen in a video game. Overall, it is a visual treat.

The game play is very well done. Once you figure out what you are doing, you can really get into what's going on around you in the game. You can basically go anywhere you want. I love climbing the buildings and running around on top of them. They did a nice job with the movement in the game. Animations are smooth and you can easily get into the realism they are going for.

Some other reviews comment on the way the game makes you do similar things over and over again. While it is true that you do have to do things several times, I haven't found it to be a bad thing. When you are scouting around for your kills you will have to interrogate and do other actions for information. This would be true in real life. While you have new targets, you do need to collect some of the same information before you can carry out the kill. Like I said before, I haven't found this to be a bad thing.

Lastly, this game does do some things ive never seen in any game before and ive been playing games for over 15 years now. I would go as far as saying it is groundbreaking in many ways. If you are looking for a new, innovative, addictive, well done game, Assassin's Creed will fit the bill. It is single player gaming at its best!

Assassin's Creed is one of the best games I've ever played in my entire life. I received it as a gift last Christmas, and I played through it's 20+ hour girth in record time... unlocking as many achievements as I could and yearning to hack through another guard every waking hour.

The only downside to this game is that once you're finished... you're finished. No real desire for replay.

If you can overlook the storyline, this game is loads of backstabbing fun. This whole ancestor animus gobbly gook of a storyline just seems like the developers were trying too hard to write one of those stories that just blows us away, but instead just wrote one that blows. If they were to just leave out the whole future ancestor machine part of the story and focus on just Altair and his journey, i think i would have liked it more. The gameplay is great fun but can get repetitive. Im not a big fan of collecting flags in the different cities really, but the assassination missions are quite good. You can kill just about anyone with your trusty arm dagger that extends at will and then retracts to hide. I like that they made your character an arrogant a-hole too, it was a clever idea because your master is upset with a botched job you do at the beginning and you lose all your nifty equipment. You are then forced to complete other missions while following the creed to obtain all your old weapons again. I thought the sword fights were fun and once you master the counter move you are pretty much unstoppable. Some people have complained about how you will be fighting one enemy and a group of his buddies come along and just seem to wait their turn to fight you instead of just jumping in all at once. But i like to think that they are all just too frightened because they see you are such a masterful swordsman. One other gripe i have is that the end of the game kind of leaves you hanging and doesn't really explain why you have been slaying half the country side for the entire game. Yes Assassin's Creed has its flaws, but i myself can overlook them to appreciate the core gameplay. Maybe the second creed game will retify all the problems of the first. Regardless, this is a good game and i won't be trading it off, its earned a permanent place in my library.

This game had me worried when i read the reviews at first but i put my faith in my own beliefs and tried it out. Let me tell you this is the most coolest game i ever played!!!! i love to just run around and jump on everything and when i say everything i mean EVERYTHING. i jumped off a persons head then caught myself on a ledge it was pretty funny. the fight system is excellent and all around gameplay never gets boring. may get a little boring but WHAT GAME DOESNT!!!!!! I just ask that you play this for yourself and not because a review said it was good or bad im telling you, you will love it!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is just amazing. Graphics are beautiful, gameplay is amazing, controls are fun and interesting. This game is just WOW. I got it from my brother for Christmas this year, and let me say that this game leaves me at a loss for words. My friend who is an AVID Nintendo fan came over to watch me play Assassin's Creed, and he was in AWE over this game. I have not beaten this game yet, but I am pretty far into it. And it is extremely fun. What I like about it is that it is a more real life than most other games. For example, instead of just getting that task of Assassinating someone, you have to investigate the person, find the right time to do it, chase him down sometimes, sneak up on him other times, escape his soldiers just to get to him and much more other things that you have to do just to do ONE task. This game was alot different than I thought it was. I thought you just walked around killing guys. It is MUCH different. I can't give details about the story as it would ruin it, but i do suggest this game.

for people saying the controls are weird or out of wack like some game magizines ive read i totally disagree once you get used to them the game becomes quite fun. it is however a bit overrepetitive but other than that its awesome and im having a great time playing it.
