seriously the one thing that i loved about the first game they go and destroy in the second game. and not just a little. in the first game once you had finally gotten your gun to the point where it was exactly what you wanted you could "pimp" it. i'm sure all fans of the first AOT remember, the detail the engavings, the variationis from weapon to weapon. now here in the second, the one that i pre-ordered because of how much i loved the first. stupid, zebra stripes and bubbles and stars have taken up the space needed on the disk to actually pay that much attention to detail. just flat gold and silver. no real pimping going on here, just a little gold plating.

and i'll suppose the 32 differnt types of camo you could put on your guns took up the needed space on the disk for some kind of a story. instead, its here they are, now they're on a mission, and now the city's attacked, no back story, no reason, just goons with guns and armor shoot'em in the head move up repeat. it didn't even explain anything about the "terrorists" after you beat the game, nothing about who the hell they are or what their agenda is. i think i've seen steven segal movies with thicker plots.

one of the worst parts about this craptastic game is that if you're home from sugery laid up on the couch and theres no one else there to play theres not even any real co-op moments, i think two back to back and random step jumps. not even co-op sniper is available on single player. it just kind of happens sometimes randomly when you pull out your sniper rifle rios/salem might happen to have theirs out. and to top it off what EA did was take simple fun mechanics of it and try to make it all advanced. but all they did was kill the fun of gameplay.

lastly theres the moral crap. whatever, just lob grenades at civilians and kill everyone, it makes no differnce in the story all they show you is some stupid little comic book slide show of someone being a douche.

in conclusion theres a reason i played assassins creed two almost the whole time i was laid up. this game sucks

pros: ummmm....

they kept the same names from the first one.

cons: see above

i'd rather play my little pony adventure than this crap. at least theres a story.

This game is a perfect example of how a game can be executed flawlessly on the technical side, and still really, well, just stink. First off, I loved the first one. Loved the co-op, love the mechanics (though some were a bit simple), and even loved the (albeit VERY simple) story.

Bluntly, the developers take EVERYTHING they did well in the first one, lead it out back on it's knees, kick it in the privates, and put two in the back of it's dome.

The co-op is TERRIBLE in the second one. They spend just as much time FORCING your characters to act independently from one another as they do encouraging you to work together.

The mechanics are equally botched in the second one. I have never seen a weapon modification system in a game with SO MUCH in there to modify your weapons that... never.... actually.... modifies your... weapons... by... that.... much.... Wait. Did I miss the whole point of the weapon modification system? No. I don't think I did, but the developers sure as heck did. No weapon can be modified in a positive manner in ANY of its stats more than 25% by ALL of modification effects on a weapon cumulatively. However, a weapon's stats may FALL by 75% or more because of penalties applied by these very same modifications. There are exceptions to these two rules, but the exception are far and few between.

Lastly, the story..... Um... there is really nothing I can say about the story that is good, other than it is mercifully shorter and even simpler than the first AoT. I can't post spoilers here, but all I will say is there is no happy ending here. Their can't be. No matter what you do you loose people. No matter how hard you fight and how well you do the developers kick you in the teeth with FORCING the story to go the way THEY choose.

If I sound a little bitter about the game ending, well, perhaps that is because I am.

Bottom line: Unless you are someone who enjoys disappointment and punishment for you hard gaming work, skip this title. Don't give EA money for showing the paying fans this level of disdain.

Do not get this game. It has the same nauseating over-the-shoulder POV as dead space, only the POV is even farther out to the side. Your "camera" endlessly runs into obstacles and corners as you navigate the character forward. The game does have a "switch to left/right shoulder" button but in most hallways it just puts you up against more obstacles and corners on the other side. This game relentlessly tries to obscure your vision.

Unfortunately part of the reason the camera is so nauseatingly lateral to the character is that the character obscures a huge portion of the POV. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING 3RD PERSON SHOOTER GAMES IN WIDESCREEN HD IF HALF OF THE SCREEN IS COVERED UP BY THE CHARACTER?

So for instance if you try to breach a normal-width doorway with enemies in the next room YOU CAN"T SEE ANYTHING except for wall until you are well within the next room, getting shot up. And then your partner dies. Thanks EA Montreal

What's worse is that the characters are incredibly slow walking around maps. But, if you try to run, the view shifts down to the character's foot, so you CAN'T SEE ANYTHING when you're running

So in sum, play any Halo game, put duct tape over the left or right half of the screen (just like the choice you get in the game), puke all over yourself, and then you have a better game than Army of Two, 40th Day.

I'm not goin to go into too much detail. Simply put, this game is not fun. Despite the poor reception that the first game received, I actually enjoyed it. Having said that, I was looking forward to part 2. What a dissapointment. I struggled to keep playing after the first mission. The story is very "meh" and the controls are aweful. This is certainly a game that you can afford to miss.

Update 01/14/10. I'm getting slammed because I have a problem with EA needing my email just to play a game. If you read my review you will see that I'm not talking about gameplay, just EA master account login. Now with that said if you what to find out about game play you should read some other reviews.

all I'm going to talk about is EA master account login. You have to login, or create new account before you play this game online. I could see this if you are on a PC but why!!!! do you have to do this before you play the game on a Xbox 360? I mean come on I'm using a 360, paying for live, and I still have to log into a game. This sucks! typing in all the stuff needed is a pain if you dont have a keyboard. If I would of known this before I got the game I would of passed this game up. I'm getting so tired of everything you do has to have a login, so that makers can have my email and send me spam. I know I'm not the only one that is getting tired of this. If EA does this to its next game I will not play it and I'm not the only one. I could go on and on, it makes me so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but I will not.

This games campaign is fun and surprising just as the first army of two. Upgrading weapons is amazing with the amount of variables you can access to each weapon. The co-op system is out of this world and the co-op decisions usually whether or not to kill someone or spare someone causes for great debates and comprimises.

Then there was the dreaded and all out terible multiplayer. Lets just say they should not even attempt multiplayer in this game just make the campaign a lot longer and erase all traces of one of the worst multiplayer games ever. from a scale of 1 to 10 1 being I would never buy this game to 10 I would sell my house to buy this game again. I would give it a 3.5 bottom line is can you live with just the so many hours of campaign over and over again I know I can't.

If you really liked the first Army Of Two. You, will HATE this one. The gameplay is slow paced and boring. The controls have been changed so you have to re-learn them. You can't preview weapons with their attachments without buying them first. The storyline in not creative, and barely even there. All the levels look the same. It's extremely repetitive. The characters have absolutely no personlity. And the whole game was just plain boring. I mean it was painful to beat the game just because of how boring it was to play through. Don't waste your time or money on this game, certainly not as fun as the first.

I got this game 2 days after it came out and was very excited to play it because I loved the first. I played it and thought is was pretty cool. It didn't seem to be a game I really strived to play every day. I play Codmw2 a lot and havent beaten this yet and will chose Cod over this a lot. This is still a fun game with little screen issues and some partner AI problems. 4/5 stars.
