So far I really like this game. I will go ahead and give it 5 stars even though it's probably not the greatest game ever. I expected it not to be. I knew that it would be fun and it is. It doesn't have to stack up to the Call of Duty series or Halo because it's different and that's the way I like it. I will also give it 5 stars because I know that many others will leave biased negative reviews and trash the game. The only thing about the game that I would have liked to see different is that the levels are a little too linear. I really haven't had a chance to play on multiplayer yet because I got the game early and there was nobody on. I started playing on the Marine campaign and, let me tell you it's a little creepy. It's dark and very atmospheric, just the way it should be. Your'e little motion tracker is thumping and you don't know when one of those aliens is going to just jump right out at you. You'll see the blips on youre tracker but they don't always come at you. Just the way it should be IMOP. Plus killing the aliens isn't always easy. They do maneuver just like they're supposed to and sometimes you will have to unload an entire clip on one just to kill it. The outer exoskeleton shell of the alien is hard like it's supposed to be and it takes a lot to kill the damn things. I think with the majority of negative reviewers they won't like a game unless it's Modern Warfare this day and age. I won't go into the details of the game because others on here are already taking care of that and I haven't played enough of it yet. I don't think I will be changing my stance on it the more I play. I like it. It's fun. That's all you need. It's so simple and doesn't need to be all complicated as to why a game is enjoyable. So far, so good!

I was a big fan of the 1999 release of AvP2. This game brings most of that back and fixes several problems I had encountered with the previous versions. First, mobility... Aliens are fast and nimble as they should be, at a sacrifice for durability. Predators can leap from tree to tree and ledge, you're strong and direct. Humans, many complain about balance here but I can assure you, if a human sees you coming, you won't make it to them. They've captured the spirit of the universe surprisingly well, even the AI humans will unload on the smallest sign of movement and keep firing wherever they deem trouble to come from... this is a refreshing (and useful in PvP) technique.

The trophy kills are brutal, very brutal, and they come at the expense of exposure. As a predator, you can leap from a tree, landing directly behind an enemy and kill them in silver-screen glory... but don't expect its friends not to light you up as you perform the spine-ectomy. The story-lines are very intersting and the sound effects are glorious, especially the human motion-tracker and the predator (well, pretty much everything).

Graphics aren't perfect, but certainly high-end enough to get the feeling. HUD's are perfect for the races. Some people have complained about controls, I haven't experience much difficulty here, it has a learning curve. The most difficult aspect is fighting a horde of quick moving aliens with your hands, the tracking system is not meant to accomidate multiple targets and is the only gripe I have. Target switching on the fly would have been nice.

If you're a fan of the movies, you'll dig the game, it lived up to my expectations most definitely. I perhaps am scoring a bit high based on my interest with the universe, but I can deal with that. Pick this one up if you're looking for a different kind of shooter/horror game.

I was really looking forward to playing this game and I really enjoyed playing the demo on both the PS3 and the xbox 360. I even went as far as getting a copy for myself and another for the kids that I picked up at my local Gamestop so that I wouldn't have to share. What a disappointment it was when I put it in and started playing the campaign. There's really no maps to guide you along your way, it's basically hit and miss. All 3 campaigns could have been a bit longer and more detailed. Game seemed kinda rushed and not totally put together. In my opinion not worth the $60 being asked.

The only thing that makes up for it is the multiplayer mode which even gets bland after a while. I love the fact that you get to be either Marine, Predator or Alien while in multiplayer mode and it's random so you never know who you're going to be in the next game but still could have been better all around.

this game is awsome. i might be biased as i played avp2 on my pc way back when but this is just an awsome game. it posses awsome challenges. being the marine is alot harder then being the alien (i havent yet played the predator i figured save the best for last). the bonus to being the alien is they have a fantastic story as if its part of alien ressurection takes off something like that. but overall being hte alien is fun it totally captures everything about the alien. as for the marine. its hard has lots of challenges and is scary too having to kill the aliens is difficult i still havent quit gotten through that part yet. and having things pop out of no where at you is scary as hell. my favorite part about being a marine though is when you run out of ammo you can actually pistol whip the aliens repeatedly (though it wont do you much good as far as damage just knocks them down). face huggers are a problem once its easy to get em off. twice not so much. and look out for swarms....its like youre actually facing off against the alien hives....

this game was captured awsomely. the graphics are great the controls are even better. i love it! i give it 5 out 5

I have always been a huge fan of the Aliens, Predator, and the AvP universe. Books, comics, movies, and games. I have them all. I very much liked the past AvP games, but this time I read the reviews for the new one and was afraid it wasn't going to be good. I thought I would get burned the way I did when the Terminater: Salvation game came out. It too got a bad review and I ignored it and bought the game anyway only to be sorely disappointed. AvP is a different story altogether. Both Gamespot and Game Informer gave it awful scores. To play it safe this time I rented the game. Wow. I have never seen the reviewers get it so wrong. This is by far my favorite AvP game. I thought the game was worth 60 dollars after playing the Marine campaign. Then I started playing the Predator campaign. Man, it is freakin awesome. I give the game a solid 8.5. Fans of Avp, don't miss out. You don't have to take my word for it. Just check out the gamer reviews on [...]. I am not alone. Now if I could only have the 10 bucks back it took to rent it to put on the game.

I like it. It's fun. Played all the campaigns, storylines were not amazing, but being each type in the game was fun. the dark levels with a crappy maglite was cool in my opinion. alien transitioning from floor to wall to ceiling gets annoying and makes me dizzy. predator's weapons are freakin' sweet. just started playing multiplayer online the last few days, it rocks. even though the marine isn't the best killer, i really like the challenge. i bought it without trying the demo, and i am not disappointed. controls and graphics aren't fabulous, but i give it five stars for the entertainment.

I like this game a lot, it's like having 3 games in one, because you can chose from being the marine, the predator or the alien, If you are a fan of the movies you will like this game because you'll feel like you are the Predator with all his weapons and the optic camouflage and the termal vision. I don't know why some peolpe say it's a bad game...

The solo part of this game is ok. It is basically training for the multiplayer. It has a bare bones story that moves things along, but for the most part it leaves you wanting more. Which is a perfect lead in for the multiplayer. If all you play is the solo game you'll walk away thinking this game was kind of a let down. If you play the solo campaign and then take what you learned into the online you'll find this is one of the best multiplayer games ever. That's right, ever. I've been playing the online multiplayer now for over a month and I'm still haven't grown tired of the trophy kills (the Predator has some really fun ones.) I would recommond this game to any alien, or Predator fan as well as any FPS fan. The great thing about this game is once you get bored of being a human, you can play as an alien. Once you get bored of being an alien you can play as a Predator. And once you get bored of playing as a Predator...well...you might want to make sure you're playing the game right. 7/10 for the single player, 10/10 for the multiplayer.

And I'd give a strong warning to any parents out there. This is the most gore filled game I've ever played. But then again, this may be obvious since it is a game based on film franchises that are rated "R".

I'm 28, and the movie Aliens was one of my first loves. If you're around my age and you're reading this, you probably know what I mean. The combination of foulmouthed marines locked in a deadly battle of cunning with a bunch of downright horrifying giant space ants appeals to a teenage boy like some kind of opiate. Likewise, a particularly nasty intergalactic big-game hunter squaring off against a bunch of fully armed foulmouths is equally compelling.

The funny thing is that as I've grown up I've realized that the first two movies in both the Alien and Predator franchises are actually quite good, especially when you consider that they're action/horror films about space monsters. SPACE MONSTERS! You either love 'em or hate 'em.

But if you love 'em, you're in for a treat!

From start to finish, I give this game a thumbs up. The mood, the look and the feel of these characters and this universe is recreated here with such loving care that I'm certain that the designers were fans themselves. And on top of all that, it's actually a fun, highly playable game!

I have only two warnings:

- Online play is a major part of this game's appeal. The three campaign modes in which you get to play through an interwoven storyline with the three respective species, while enjoyable, function as extended tutorials. These prepare you for online play, where you have a lot of options. If you're not gonna play online, just rent it.

- In this game, you will have to master 3 control schemes, 2 of which are fairly exotic and difficult for a FPS player to adjust to. You'll eventually get the hang of it, and then the game becomes an absolute blast.

So take your time, play the campaigns to learn not only the controls but also the different tactics that pertain to each species, and for the love of Ripley, have some fun!

A lot has been said with so many reviews already in for this game, so let me keep it short. I just finished my third and last campaign of the game and greatly enjoyed them all. There are some small control issues here and there, especially when the camera gets all squirelly (rare, but it DOES happen), so I can't rate it perfectly. But dang, it came close!

I have played the first 4 missions of the alien campaign and the predator campaign. So far I am enjoying the back story and the game play. Each race as their own little perks that I enjoy using including luring unsuspecting prey into a dark corner so I can properly execute them. :)

Graphics seem subpar for a 2010 game, but it doesn't hold the game back too much. Sound is excellent and I haven't had too much problem learning how to navigate the maps with these 2 races. (still have an occasional messup when trying to switch from walls and roofs as the alien, but nothing too bad. I really enjoy crawling on the roof and ambushing from above lol)

I haven't played multiplayer yet besides the online demo I downloaded the other day. However, that 1 demo level was fun enough to play for a hour or 2 here and there, and I imagine with a variety of game types and maps it would be even more enjoyable.

I really hope there is a team deathmatch options where you can be one of the 3 races and use team strategy to take out the other races. I hated the FFA set up when I am impaling a predator as an alien and had another alien come up behind me and bite my head off..

Good buy!

"Aliens vs Predator" is an extremely fun game for the Xbox. The ability to play as an Alien, Predator, or Human is very enjoyable, and the computer controlled opponents are challenging. The environment does capture the creepy feel of the movies very well and the special attention seemed to have been given to making the Aliens just as sinister.

The controls are intuitive and easy to use for all of the characters, and there is a tutorial at the start to learn the specifics for each type. To start, the Alien is the most fun to play, the Predator is overall the best as levels progress, and as to be expected, the Human is the weakest and hardest to play.

This game has a lot gore and very bad language (read cursing), so be aware that you will not want the little ones in the room when playing this one.

Highly Recommended!

I consider myself to be a horror genre freak. Anything to do with zombies, demons, ghosts, and aliens. I have most likely seen or played. I have yet to meet anyone who's horror collection to surpass mine. Consuming all the way up from children of the corn to the very last silent hill.

Now, with most horror fans there is a top 2 on this list. Resident evil with its creepy atmosphere, pop out in your face moments, and outstanding storyline. Well that is until r/e 4-5 left the zombie threshold and I began to lose interest. And silent hill with is absolutely twisted mindset that will make you wonder what drugs the writers and artists where on the time while you are checking under your bed for knife wielding infants.

The choice to buy AVP was most likely that I have been on a classic horror kick, that has lead me once again to every last alien movie. And out of impulse on Amazon I clicked the dreaded "add to cart"

This is a must play in the dark game. Me....working nights... long ago has completely covered the windows in my room with cardboard and gorilla tape leaving my room complete blackness save the countless blinking LED lights from my self made rack of external hard drives holding said movie collection. Also, surround sound, or a good set of headphones with noise cancelation is a must. ( well you can skip the noise cancelation on your part, as long as you don't have to deal with helicopters and gunfire freaking you out while playing this. )

In AVP you have the choice of playing the alien, the predator, or...my fav. The marine. Each has its own storyline that takes place all at the same time. Each with its own ups and downs.

As the alien you play as 6 a nasty bugger that Mr W himself kept alive for sheer spunk. Your fast....ok... your not fast, your insanely fast. Abel to cover 200m in just a few seconds. Can crawl on any surface, strong, stealthy, and just plain deadly. With the ability of smelling....err seeing... your prey no matter where they are and nearly impossible for them to see you. There is no scary factor for playing this character. It just slaughter. You always know where your prey is, abel to kill them quickly with finishing moves, and never alerting his fellow crunches in the room.

Playing as the predator is just as fun, you play as a young blood on his first hunt with his elite counterparts. stealth is key with this guy. But when the time comes to strike. Your overpowering weapons and strength leaves this one fun boy to play with. You come with a power blaster that will literally blow anything to bits. Thermal and binocular vision leaves your enemy whether human or not no place to hide. Advanced sound devices that allow you to lure your prey out of view of his comrades to give you ample time to collect his trophy.

And this is where the terror factor comes in to play. The marine. It starts off about the same story as Alien 2. And your quickly left alone by your comrades trying to save their own skin. With all the power and advantages of the other characters, your just helpless in this one. Its dark, very dark.... But... you have a flashlight. A $200 issued flashlight that can be outclassed by a Wal-Mart knock off for $5 that your commander made you carry because he wanted everyone to be uniform.....that sound very familiar ( cusses his own captain under his breath.) ok, so you can't really see... BUT FRET NOT. You have a state of the art motion tracker that will tell you the exact location of your enemy....well in theory. In action.... It gives you somewhat of a clue that there is something moving in the area. Or, a coke can fell off that table you bumped into a few seconds ago. And when you snatch around to see what the motion was the real nasty in the room crawls out of a pile of trash right next to you. .....oh my.... Well... at least you have something to tell you there something around.... Well.... Then again, there is always something around, it all just depends if it finds you interesting enough to come out and play.

Ok, so, you can't see, you have a slight clue if something is around, but you have guns! Guns that some commander that has probably never seen combat in his life keeps in service cause he is to afraid to look like a fool replacing them. Most of the guns are so underpowered you will find yourself expending way more ammo than you want to dispatch one single enemy while there are 5 more closing in on you.

Oh, and as far as dispatching you enemy goes.... They crawl on everything. As soon as you get a bead on it in the dark and open fire, one of 3 things will happen. You will lose track of it, you will have to reload, or the other nasty will grab hold of you.

There is a lot on this game that I will not cover because I want you to find out for yourself, but it is a good buy. But I could see my self playing just the human story and being completely happy.

First of all the game play is absolutely great. as alien you get so many awesome moves and you can climb walls and travel through vents. playing as a marine things are a tad bit more difficult. you do get a radar but half the time you can't see where the enemy is and that can get agitating. playing as the predator you get the ability to use his shoulder mounted cannon and the cannon aim is authentic from the movies. like i said the game play is absolutely terrific. my favorite to play as is ALIEN. He is awesome.

I am a heavy gamer sometimes non-stop, I HAVE ALREADY BEATEN THIS GAME

EXCEPT FOR THE ACIEVEMENTS. THIS GAME IS NOT FOR ANYONE UNDER 13 YRS OLD
