I don't really see what all the complaints are about... this game is a STEAL for the extra $10. If you're like me and don't need the extra remote, then buy it, keep the game, and sell the remote! We have entertained ourselves for hours trying to earn Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platnium medals in all the different categories. I love the pool game and can't wait for someone else to release a full version! The tank game is really really fun. Fishing is good. The "Where's Waldo" version of Find Mii is super fun especially with 1 or more people helping you! The shooting game is fast, but fun. The laser hockey is frustratingly fun! The bubble game hurts my wrist, but is also very fast-paced and exciting. Table Tennis is much better than some of the reviews have give it credit for... it's more challenging than it looks... I still haven't got 100 volleys! There's even a racing game... on cows! True, none of these games have the dept of Zelda, but they are fun and entertaining AND will help hone your Wiimote skills! It's definitely worth $30, if you can pick it up for that. If you need the remote, then you're in business since it's $40 by itself! If not, sell it and keep the game! Side Note for Online Wii Users: The New "Everybody Votes Channel" is now available for FREE download! It's a little cheezy, but should be pretty cool once it's up and running for a while! Wii enjoy it as well as Wii Play!
I just got my Wii today my kids have wanted it for a while well the only thing that's hard is playing with my kids I have to set the sensor bar more to there level , but other than that I learn to compromise so its better on both of us to play. We love playing the games.
It is fun to play Wii Play. A game for age 2 to 99 as Wii Sport.
Having played this game for a while, I have to conclude that it's a fun game that's simple and entertaining. Not all the minigames may cater to one's taste but there are a few which are quite fun to play. My favorites are the tank battle, pool/billiard, "duck-hunt" shooter and the fishing game.
I like to view this as a $10 game instead of a $50 game with a free remote.
I love, love, love the Wii! It is a wonderful motivator! A truly fun way to move your body without being bored!!
For those who have recently purchased a Wii, this is a good way to get a second remote---and the games are just a bonus. These are also the kind of games that an amateur gamer or guest can easily pick up, so it's a nice option to have around for playdates or family gatherings where not everyone is Wii-proficient.
NOTE: from the box, it appears you are getting the remote alone, but it does come with the clear rubber 'jacket' as well.
If you're new with the Nintendo Wii and want to learn how to use the controllers like an artist you have to buy Wii Play. It's a simply set of 8 fun Minigames that allows you to use the control to the fullest. I think it's really simple the great part is that the game comes with an extra Wii Controller to play with your family or friends ;)
When I first looked at this game I was a bit iffy because of some of the more negative reviews, I must say that after buying it however this may have been the best game that I picked out in a recent shopping spree and I must say that for including another controller (making the game itself about $15) this was THE best deal that I got. Basically there are five or six games out of the nine that make this game VERY special and kept me and my friends up all night playing these. As for the not-so-fun games, you don't HAVE to play them so you shouldn't really have a problem there. Either way, this game is greatly worth the money because I would easily buy target shooting for $5, tanks for $15, fishing for $3, billiards for $5, etc. so if you really think about how much you would pay for each game alone this whole pack turns out to be an excellent deal.
Each game uses the remote in a different, creative way, no repitition (fishing has 3d movement, ping pong is simply moving the controller back and forth, etc.) and all movements of the wiimote come naturally, you could probably understand how to play without instructions for maybe some younger kids who can't understand complicated instructions.
I suppose that there are always some cons...:
1) A couple of the games (find mii, pose mii) will never be played more than once or twice.
2) There is only a maximum of two players instead of four
3) I would have liked to see more sports like basketball and soccer though you can't really complain about what ISNT there because there is so much that IS there to be positive about.
4) Graphics? (Though we are all told that graphics are over come by playing intuitivity, which IS true, there could be at least a little bit more work done here)
Either way the pros to this game are MUCH stronger than the cons, plus, you get an extra wiimote to go with it, I mean $50 for the wiimote ALONE wouldn't be too terrible of a deal so with such a great game....
Just buy it, you'll be glad you did.
I think that the wii remote is easy to use. and I like it.
If you need a controller, and like the sport games, then this is a good deal.
I got the Wii game for my daughter for Christmas and the entire family has enjoyed it. I am glad that we got the extra remotes so that more than one person can play a game at one time. I highly recommend the Wii game and purchasing additional Wii Play remotes for multiple players!
This game is fun, it guides you through basic control of the remote which is useful for other games also. I love the cow races.
Thought this was a great deal. I got it on sale. It has a lot of games that my grandchildren can play and harder games I can play. Keeps me moving and is great for my joints! I can exercise easily through these games as they get my heart rate up and keep me stretching. I commend them for thinking of every aspect in playing games. Fairness, ease of use, ability range, positive feedback even if you are not great, learning, and the music is relaxing not annoying.
If you have a kid that likes to play video games... this is perfect. My son is now up sweating and having a great time playing this..before just sitting for hours in the same position with the other systems.
Good game. One game of bubbles is hard to understand at first. Graphics are great and well done.
