Lego Star Wars is host to a multitude of small but cumulatively frustrating flaws: studs (the in-game currency) disappear too quickly to collect everything you scare up; the concept of depth is almost non-existent in some important jumping sections; vehicle controls are unforgivably loose; mission objectives are sometimes ill-defined. Even the insistent flashing of highlighted text on menus seems designed to annoy. Playing the game alone, the best you could say is that it represents an entertaining idea ("Legos plus Star Wars? How can we lose!?") hindered by poor execution.
Get a like-minded friend to pick up the second controller, though, and it's a different game. The length of time studs appear seems calibrated to multiplayer--two people working in tandem can usually collect everything before it flickers away. And a human companion is vastly superior to the single-player mode's brain-dead A.I. allies. Multiplayer has its own quirks; for example, friendly fire is always on and the auto-targeting feature likes to aim at your companion as often as the enemy, and multiplayer turns the already recalcitrant camera into one that almost gleefully obtructs your point of view. But having a second human player not only to strategize, but to laugh at the game's absurdities, lightens the mood considerably. So much so, in fact, that a game that's hard to recommend for one player could be a must-have for two.

At $15 shipped this is a great deal.
6 year old nephew loves it.
Slight warning..
..... you can decapitate characters with your light saber and you see the heads fall off.
But of course they are lego pieces and not really people.
This was a gift for my 6 year old grandson. He loves it more than any other Wii game he has had.
This really was originally released as three separate games, meaning you would have paid $150 to get the three games for the last gen consoles. It's a fantastic deal as an all-in-one. These games are good clean fun, full of humor.
I bought this game for my son (14) as a reward. He absolutely loves it. He is constantly finding new aspects to the game and telling me all about it. It is a great way to share time with him, even though I don't play the game myself. The graphics are good and the action is just right and engaging enough for my super Star Wars and Lego fan!
I picked this game up the day I bought my Wii. I had the original X-box versions and I played both of the starwars games on it. I was able to beat the first but never really had enough time to play the second. I was so excited to see the Complete Saga when I picked up my Wii.
The graphics are better than earlier versions. I have my Wii hooked up with component cables so that might make it a little better itself. I noticed it in the 1st door, Negotiations of Episode 1. If you look you on the floor when walking around you can see your reflection.
The game is much faster also. When you are refecting blaster fire from the enemy it bounces back much faster. The Pod racing is Super fast thought they did make it a little to easy to beat Subulba.
There are also a lot of new things you can do and buy in the game. It added quit a few hours to the overall completion.
And of course. Using the Wiimote as a light saber. Ok it isn't all its cracked up to be. It takes a while to get used to and even then I doesn't always work the way you want it to. I reverted to using the B button and every once and a while swinging the remote.
Overall all a great game with a lot of improvments. If you have kids this is the game for them.
I am at best a casual gamer... I am 47, work 45-50 hours a week and have been totally absorbed by this game! I have found it to be engrossing to the point of forgetting to blink, but easy enough to master that I can understand the objectives and figure out *most* of the puzzles. (I admit, a few times I forgot R2D2 can fly.) I've had it since before Christmas and still find myself making time at the end of a long day to lose myself for a few hours. It's fun to play with a friend and even the uninitiated can pick up the basics quickly.
I am just now getting to all the free play and am looking forward to discovering more secrets, building with kits and figuring out how to better fly in the really interesting, but rather frustrating air & space environments.
I purchased this game for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves it and has already played it several times. I have played with her and love it as well. This is a great game for Star Wars lovers.
My kids have so much fun with this game. My son is 6. He is obsessed! It is very easy for him to play. I also have two daughters, 14 and 12, who love the game too. They have almost completed the entire game. They get more involved with the game, which makes it harder. If you are thinking about purchasing it, do it! You will not be disappointed! (at least my kids were not!)
This game is tons of fun! My kids, husband and brother have played it constantly since we got it. They love it!
I have three boys ages 12, 8, 5 and they all love this game. They would play it all day if I would let them. The only problem we have had is being able to add the second player on. I have contacted support and did receive a response but haven't tried it yet. I will get back to you and let you know if it worked.
It is a great fun in a small pacage.. the star wars saga is great, but if you play the six episodes strait forward it only covers the 40% of the game!!! So every corner of it its a place for discover new thing, you had to come back to the missions and do it again with another caracther.. so the experience is expanded..
great game..
Being a huge Star Wars fan myself, my kids were already well aware of the Star Wars movies. As a family, we have enjoyed many great movie nights that included Star Wars! So it was not a big surprise how excited they were to try out Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Wii. I must say I have found this game much more fun that I thought it would be. It is truly a well done, fun game for the entire family. Now instead of my kids bugging me about watching the Star Wars movies, they ask to play "Star Wars Wii!!!"
It is an awesome game that has features like power-ups, which are little purple balls that make you invincible. They give you studs when you defeat enemies, they let you "use the force" faster, and they let you build lego objects faster. There are new levels in the game compared to the older versions of the game. There are new extras that for example, let you use studs to buy characters that you can use in free play mode.
I love this game. I bought it for my sons, but I can't stop playing it. It is definitely worth the money!
