I bought this game from Amazon and I want to say I couldn't believe I got it in time for Christmas. I ordered it two days before, My grandson loves the game and said it was the best present he got for Christmas. He is 8 yrs old and has been enjoying it almost everyday since Christmas. THANKS AMAZON
Me and my 5 yr old son enjoyed Lego Indiana Jones 1 and we were waiting for this game for months.
It does not even come close to the IJ-1. Seems like some new college grads, hired by Lego, slapped some stuff together and labeled it Indiana Jones -2. Lego is just selling its reputation built on IJ-1.
Here are the problems.
1. Total mess, I am an engineer I cannot figure out what is going on.
2. There is no continuty of events , for example if you clear one stage you should go to next, but here you come back.
3. Desert and snow are just a bridge away. It shows some body just slapped thing together.
4. You cannot play all the 4 indiana jones directly. You need to unlock them.
All in all it does not seem a work of heart as the IJ-1.
This game is a lot of fun. My son and daughter play it together and love it. It uses a split screen whenever the characters are too far apart and so they don't have to stay together. This works great for my daughter who is 5 and learning how to play these types of games.
While we originally bought Lego Indiana Jones 2, we turned around and bought it for play ourselves as well. This game is excellent. It's a wonderful continuation of the first Lego Indiana Jones game and we're thoroughly enjoying playing it, and will continue to for months and months.
I just completed the game and had a blast doing it! The formula has been changed a bit from the earlier Lego games, but there are some welcome new additions, too. The pros: better weapon function with Wii remote targeting (similar to Batman's Batarangs), much better vehicle challenges that are actually fun and allow you to get in and out of the vehicle, improved graphics, lots of large areas to explore, no repeated content from first Lego Indy game. The cons: no treasure chests within the levels (This has been replaced with other hide-and-seek bonus stuff, but I still miss replaying the levels to find treasure.); shorter levels with frustrating 'boss' levels and repetitive bonus levels; no single 'home base' for checking progress (confusing at first). All in all, this is a more sophisticated game, but I wish they had stuck a little more closely to the original format. Still, if you love the Lego games, you'll definitely be hooked!
I hate to say it but this was a disappointing game on every level (no pun intended). I was looking forward to this game having heard of all the new content added & having LOVED the original Lego Indy game. Sadly the levels are 1/4th the size of the original's & have next to NOTHING to do. It lacks the depth, length and exploration that made the original so great. Most of each level is given to you in video cut scenes & the actual level itself is practically spoon-fed to you. The driving levels area real pain too, and repetitive. They changed the physics of the cars so now you go all over the place out of control & plan on spending some serious game time upside down as you try to catch the vehicles u need to destroy only to go out of control & end up rolling upside down again. They r fun for the smash'em up derby fun they provide AFTER u beat the level but it's a pain when trying to beat the level. The Raiders levels start out in Marion's tavern (yep, that's where you start) with you fighting toht for the head piece to the staff of rah. After that seriously annoying battle you're off to Cairo where, after all the video cut scene's, all u have to do is fight waves of enemies before you move onto the map room where all you have to do there is get out. Yep that's it for the levels. SHORT, NO length, NO exploration, just show up, fight or chase then watch the next cut scene, BORING. I was expecting so much more & got so much less. I actually went out & bought the original Lego Indy again, having traded it in toward getting Indy 2 & I haven't looked back. Lego Indy 2 may work for some, & that's fine, but it didn't work at all for me. Rent it first.
My six year old and I have played all of the Lego Wii games. Indiana Jones 2 mixes up the game play enough to keep it fun. There is more need to follow clues and occasionally a little more hand-eye coordination than the other Lego Wii games required.
I played this game with my nephew this week and we had a blast! My favorite thing was that we could each go off and have fun with the split screen option instead of one person having to follow the other person around the whole time. Also, each Movie section has this big area where you can go around and discover all sorts of other fun things to do, not just the normal game.
He's 9, so he definately is ready to start taking charge and it was great because he never had to ask his aunt how to do something, in fact, in the area wehre you can create your own stuff he was showing me how to do it. Everything was really intuitive for him so he had a blast.
We played for an hour or so and never got bored, there were so many different types of things to do in the game. It was just bedtime so we had to stop. I can't wait to play it with him again!
Subject says it all. I love it and in fact, feel totally comfortable calling it the best LEGO game so far. Retelling the content from the origional 3 movies means everything is fresh and new and has that great LEGO charm and humor. The split screen is so good, I see others implementing the feature the same way. It is totally seamless and really allows for the freedom to explore the way both people want to. And the editor? Creating my own levels is def one of my favorite parts. For me games these days are all about replayability. I'm not spending $50 to play a game for a day. All the new levels plus the editor means there is SO MUCH CONTENT! You are absolutley entitled to your opinion (heck, this is the Internet), however I feel you are really off base with your comments. Best LEGO game to date.
kids have only played for a day or so, and really love the graphics and the details. not too difficult yet challenging for 7 year old.
Let me first say that we have played every "lego" game for the Wii. My 4 and 6 year olds love to play them. This game still intrigues my 4 year old, but my 6 year old refuses to play because it is "boring." I have to agree to a point. The bad news is that the game play lacks any kind of cohesiveness and seems to be kind of arbitrary in its play and to complete it. There are way to many racing quests, and it is often a guess as to where you have to drive the vehicle/planes, etc. They are not difficult, per se, just more of an annoyance. Some level challenges are misleading because it will say you need a character when you do not: e.g. you need a character with explosives, and you really a character with a bazooka. This is annoying when you have not opened every character and think there is one with explosives. This is also a very buggy game and freezes and characters and vehicles often get "stuck" or frozen and cannot be used, making you restart and lose whatever you have done. The entire game just doesn't feel like it was put together well, or with any kind of thought to make it a smooth transition. This is mostly a game of destroy as many lego things as possible and hope you find it all, then follow the arrows into the caves, etc., and solve the puzzles and then go back in because some of them have second quests (it's just a guess which one to go into as some turn colors and some do not). That is pretty bad news. and the only real reason I gave it two stars instead of one was because of the split screen. This is a great idea and allows the characters to go off on their own, and when you have young children playing, it is useful, as my youngest just like to drive the vehicles around and around until I find somethine interesting or unlock/open a quest. If I had it to do over, I do not think I would buy this, even if it went on sale (it would have to be really cheap). It just doesn't have the fun of any of the other games, nor does it have the challenges. It's too bad, because there certainly was a lot of potential....final word, Pass and hope that the Lego Harry Potter is better (due out in March I think).
This was a great game, with new features. My son loved that you could create your own level. He has been playing as often as he can. I would definitely recommend this.
The new split screen action is a great addition. Now two players can stray far away from each other and be independent. My 9 year old son is addicted!
The kids love this game. You can create your own levels and customize the whole thing. Huge hit with a 9 & 11 year old.
This is a wonderful game to play, and the kids can make their own game as well. My kids love to build a game by themselves, and we have never seen a game that has this feature. Very cute!
