great time occupier for the wanna-be-wrestlers-my grand-son,now when he get's it for the PS3 he'll be complete (in his mind anyway)
My son really loves his PSP Smakdown vs Raw 2010 video game. I purchase yearly editions. He loves this year's upgraded graphics and expanded roster. The order arrived at the "ship to" address sooner than anticipated, and in perfect condition.
I've had tons of fun playing this game so far. Each year the graphics and game options improve so I am looking fwd to the 2011 version.
This game has a Bunch of new Features. You could create a superstar,His/her moves, finishers & entrance. You Could also create your very own storyline...Very cool. I probaly spent over an Hour creating stuff. The Royal Rumble also has new features where you could throw guys out of ring in new ways. They also made a bunch of new realistic actions. The Road to wrestlemania Created superstar addition was Fun.
The only thing i didnt like was that there was no commentary during the matches, just music.
I picked this game up after watching a couple reviews, and I expected a watered down, serviceable grappler. What I got was a watered down, amazingly deep, and fun game.
THQ did a great job on this game. They included tons of match types, a lot of Create and Customize options(read below), a Career Mode, a Road to WrestleMania mode with 5 different storylines featuring 6 wrestlers, an upgraded Royal Rumble, and tweaked gameplay.
The gameplay is what you'd expect from a Smackdown game. Not good, not bad, just serviceable. We need to realize that we won't have a fun game like WWF No Mercy anytime soon, in terms of gameplay, anyways.
Customize, Create, and Customize seem to be the focus of this title. There a lot of Create options, including Create a Wrestler, Create a Storyline, and you can Customize existing wrestlers to the tee-including whether they are face or heel, who are their allies/foes, THQ only left out the option to customize their clothing like the PS3/360 versions do. You can sort out what brand your wrestler belongs to including RAW, Smackdown, ECW, and even WCW, of all things. This isn't as deep as Fire Pro Wrestling in terms of customizable options, but it is amazing for a THQ game.
So far, I am very happy with this game, and I have trouble putting it down. There are cons, which I will list below, but overall, this is a solid, fun title.
PROS:
-Good graphics for a PSP sports game
-Endless Create and Customize options
-Many ways to play, with many match types and single player modes
CONS:
-No commentary during the matches, just looping WWE theme music.
-Gameplay gets repetitive, like all WWE SvR titles.
Don't compare this game to the PS3 and 360 titles, that is unfair. If you want WWE on the go, and you want a deep title that will keep you playing for hours, this is the game to turn to.
