Resistance Retribution is a great game to come to the PSP. The graphics are almost as good as God of War Chains of Olympus except some character animations look a little blocky. The cutscenes look crisp and clear on the PSP's LCD screen. Even though there is one analog stick the controls are easy to use. There is an automatic lock-on when an enemy comes into view. Or you can manually aim which is a little tougher. Even though I've never played Resistance Fall of Man or Resistance 2 because I don't have a PS3, this game turned out really good and I would strongly recommend this to anyone. Its rated M for blood and gore, partial nudity, strong language, suggestive themes, and violence.

This is an extremely well thought out game. The graphics and gameplay are excellent- I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed. Because of the auto-aim capability I do find it easier to play than Resistance Fall of Man, but given the lack of high-fidelity controls on the PSP, it's a tradeoff which works well.

With the journals and the narration by Rachel Parker, the game's main character is more accessible than Nathan Hale. I felt that I learned more about his character in the Resistance novel than either Resistance 1 or 2. R2 did some characterization but not enough. The campaign also is well varied, challenging and fun. There are few new weapons, but some old ones have twists. The razor is a nice psp spin on the bullseye. It has a charge attack that ricochets off walls. It's pretty cool, and it needed to be to replace the bullseye. The mech battles are nicely distributed. I think the use of hags also really mixed it up. I hated those things, but they require good aiming (or a powerful blast, which wastes good firepower). All in all I can't recommend this game more. On a technical aspect, it is not God of War, but its gameplay and story are arguably the best on the system if not the best.

Best way to sum up Resistance: Retribution... simply amazing. It's my first Resistance game, but the gameplay is intense. Amazing graphics (PSP games should all be this good), great plot (really involves you), and very good controls (third person shooters, take a note!). I've only had the game a week, but have hardly been able to put it down. Definitely one of my favorite games now. My only issue is that there isn't a "save" option in the middle of a level which can get on your nerves if you're only able to play about 5mins or so. However, I'll overlook the save bit since I love the rest of the game. Even the unlockables are pretty fun. Finding intel definitely gives the game some replay value as well as the Infected and Plus modes. Overall, this game is a must have for anyone that enjoyed Resistance, third person shooters or just wants a fun action game. I give it 5 stars... I'd give it 6 stars if that was an option!

I enjoy the PSP gaming system but there really has not been that many games available. This game; however, exceeded all expectations. Outstanding

this game is one of the best 3rd person shooters I have ever seen. for those that like free look multiplayer without all that sticky crap, welcome to heaven!!! It is like Halo for the psp, minus jumping, but when was that ever able to cross into the psp world?? total a good game for the young adult and adult players; good stuff.

one thing that kinda makes me sad is that some of these games could have stayed on the shelves longer if they had a free play mode like in battlefield with command posts, but that is never bound to happen, they just don't know how to improve on this goodness because they never want to try: its portable: how many honest people actually play it comparitively to people who play Xbox 360, or PS3??

I'm not much of a gamer but I like to play the PSP when I'm watching TV. I bought this game because of all of the reviews and without a doubt it was the best game I've ever played. It was real hard and took me forever to finish. It had a tons of levels and they were all challenging. It's a great game and it was totally worth the money.

This is by far the greatest game out there for the PSP. It reminded of the joy I had the first computer game I ever played- Doom. It's just plain fun with a great background story and lots of things to kill. I played the whole game in Normal mode and while it's definitely hard in parts, and frustratingly difficult toward the end of the game, it can be completed which is always great. I was also pleasantly surprised with how long the game was- it just kept going and going. Truly a magnificent game.

Resistance Retribution is awesome.

I don't know how long it is. The action is just right. From the time I've played it, I will say if you like 3rd person shooters, this WILL entertain you for a long time.

Now, if they would introduce MAX PAYNE, FFVII, and PARASITE EVE to the PSP.

AS ONE GAMER SAID, THIS IS HALO ON THE PSP.IT IS THAT GOOD.....ENOUGH SAID.

I normal hate the shooters on the PSP that use the buttons to look around but by them putting the bracket their to assist you with aiming has helped this game alot. Its well made, voice acting is good with a descent storyline. I'm not finished playing it to the end yet but it has been a good enjoyable experience so far.

This is the first real game I've ever played. I only own a PSP for games. Resistance was the third attempt at trying to play games for fun. Tried a driving game and a Tom Clancy game; both were OK but too boring for what I was looking for. At my level this game is worth playing through more than once. I'm middle-aged with a 9-5 job so it took a few weeks to get through the game :)

The storyline is well above average; the cutaways also. I really cared about the protagonist. The story would make a fun short if stitched together.

It was a ride to get through. I always looked forward to picking it up and playing more. The music is good and coherent throughout; no cheeze.

I hope I'm not spoiling anything but the end gives a hint that a sequel is possible. Not that there isn't closure in the end; it's in the narrative of one of the cutaway scenes towards the end that reveal a possible part 2.

I've seen the series on the PS2/3 systems on youtube and the PSP doesn't compare, that's true. But, for those who know and understand the "simplified" graphics and interface that goes into games for the PSP, it should cause no dismay.

In the end, if I lost my copy, I'd replace it new. Best of luck to all.

I LOVE this game!!! One of the few games that even after several playings doesn't get boring. I started it on the easy level and am now trying to get through it on "normal" which is still hard as heck.

It is bloody and probably not for the kiddies but still lots of fun and killings things is always a good way to work out stress right?
