If you have played all 3D GTAs you will not be disapointed with this one. Played the original Vice City for PS2? If you have, you'll be right at home. Controls are the same as any GTA (excluding GTA's 1,2,Chinatown, and IV)with a few minor differences, such as the auto-rotating camera. As well as the 'Drive-By' controls which involve pressing and holding in L and using the analog stick to select the direction you'd like to view.

Here is my Long, Detailed Review.

Graphics- 10/10: Outstanding, complete 3D enviroment, cars dent, gun shells fly when you shoot, and the people match thier zone they are in (Lifeguards, swimmers, at beaches/ thugs, gang bangers, prostitutes in alley ways). When you drive in sand you leave tracks. Trees bend, water ripples, clouds float across the sky, and more eye candy!

Sound- 8/10: Sounds are also great, as I mentioned before when gun shells fly and hit the ground they have a ringing soundwhen they hit! With good quality headphones you can hear the ocean crashing, cars engines. Without headphones the quality isn't the best through the PSP's speakers, I recomend a pair of headphones. Radio stations have a great array of music but this is where I gave it 8/10. It could just be my copy, but sometimes the music will pause and skip and some vehicle sounds lag. Voice acting is also kinda lame, but not the worst.

Story- 5/10: Probably the dumbest story yet. (CONTAINS SPOILERS) This game is presented four years before the original Vice City. Remember Lance Vance from Vice City? Well you are his brother. Victor Vance a soldier who joins the Army to help out his family. His sergeant Martinez has him deal drugs and betrays Victor for a stash that he hid in Victor's bunker's cot which gets Victor kicked out from the Army. So Victor has to gain money in a honest way to gradually get revenge back on his Sergeant Martinez. The last mission involves you killing Martinez. Oh yeah, in the begining cutscene of the original Vice City Victor is seen carrying the case of money and gets killed.

New Features from Vice City Include: Vehicles, weapons, and followers. Vehicles-(Air Ambulance, Armodilla, Quad, split six ATV, little willy, police bike, biplane, dozer, and military jeep) Weapons- (Scorpion, AK-47, Micro UZI, and Butterfly knife). Followers (Recruiting Gang Members).

Overall a great installment for GTA and the PSP game collection. You will not be disapointed.

This game screams PLAY ME!!! If you are a GTA fan i suggest you pick this up.

Of course this is a GTA game, so it's amazing compared to regular fare, but in many ways the series took a step backward here. Car handling can be crazy, the setting "borrows" so much from Scarface I'm surprised they weren't sued, and the character is annoying -- especially when he breaks the fourth wall and talks to you. But the bones of the game -- killing, mayhem, crime -- are all as strong as ever.

GTA Vice City Stories is a magnificient PSP game that anyone over 25 will enjoy the music and cars. It starts off pretty slow but suddenly picks up after several missions compared to GTA Liberty City. I just completed the entire game after completing all missions and still play it for fun. I love riding around town and getting my having the police chase me. This one is a keeper in my opinion.

I bought this game for my son. He plays it quite a bit (every chance he gets). He says that graphics are great and it's a fun and addicting game to play.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories is an enjoyable video game. If you don't have a Sony PSP and you are a fan of the Grand Theft Auto Series, you may want to pick up a PSP to play this game. Vice City Stories is an extension of the 2002 hit game Grand Theft Auto Vice City. The game takes place two years before the original Vice City with different lead characters. This time around you will be playing as Victor Vance. Vance is a military man, frustrated with his career looking to make a little extra cash. Surprisingly it's his supervisor Martinez who hooks him into making a little cash on the side via crime.

If you played and enjoyed Grand Theft Auto Vice City, you should like this game. Afterall, there is no place like home. The map is not identical to the first game but it's very similar. Some of the businesses you remember from the PS2 game have not yet been built but there are a lot of new businesses and the roads are slightly different in some area. There is also much more time spent on the military base near the airport, as your first save house is Vic's barracks on the base. For this game you start out on what is known as the second island. When driving along you hear the familiar message about bridges closed. Road blocks block access to the other island, but you can access Starfish Island from the beginning of the game.

The first few missions are simple enough. The main character Vic can swim for a short amount of time and the first mission has him swimming to shore and then delivering a package. The next mission you will be paying a visit to Phil Cassidy (a character from Grand Theft Auto Vice City), and helping him with some problem some people.

Rockstar Games did not push the Grand Theft Auto series further with Vice City Stories, so don't look for a lot of new features that didn't appear in San Andreas, the most recent game in the series. GTA Vice City Stories is basically a new adventure in a familiar setting.

The game looks gorgeous and quite cinematic on the PSP system. The soundtrack is awesome with all of the previous stations returning and a few new ones. The vehicle handling is awesome. I had a few issues with targeting as far as shooting but I got better with that. Playing the game you rely on the left analog pad a lot. On the PSP the pad is not raised off of the system. This caused my thumb to get sore a lot quicker than it ever did than when I played a game on the PS2.

Overall, GTA Vice City Stories is everything you loved about GTA Vice City in a portable system with a great soundtrack and a new storyline. I had absolutely no complaints with the game. I love the free roaming that GTA Vice City Stories provided in no time I was wandering around finding hidden body armor. I will say that the game is much better than Liberty City Stories, a lot of improvements have been made. This game will provide you with hours of fun.

from what i hear yes there is not other game series better than grand theft auto. and now its portable it has awesome weapons, very creative missions, and there ary many hot cars. but the thing is. are the graphics good on the ps2 and on the psp well my opinion is yes. the graphics are no doubt good and in the begining of the game you start as an army person but u getting fired anyway on the 3rd mission this is when it gets fun u start killing everybody u see from a mile away. i have to say i play it just about every other day. to give u a little heads up the last mission called "last Stand" u kill the army general u were working for in the begining of the game. so any GTA fan out there a must get. at first i never played it before so i just happened to go on a vaction to florida to see my mother she told me there was a walmart near-by so i brought my psp to florida (so i can play it on the airplane) and i bought GTA vice city stories and on the ride back i was playing until my hand got soar and i was tired. so to make a long story short a must get for any GTA fan and u not sure if u dont like it or not go rent it at blockbuster u can decide from there. so this is one of the top PSP games out there in psp games out right now (loved the game).

As in my other video game reviews, you will find absolutely no spoilers here, so read on.

Rockstar once again have outdone themselves with their long-awaited title, but it was worth the wait! So, let's cut to the chase:

Graphics:

Awesome! This time around, you will actually tell a difference between night and day. When the night falls, you will see beautiful street lights and store signs all around you, resembling a Miami night filled with lights.

Controls:

Great news! If you played Liberty City Stories, you already know the controls, as they are unchanged. So keep playing where you left off, instead off spending hours learning the controls.

Gameplay:

What can I say...this time around, Rockstar took all the best features from previous titles and combined them here and then added some more. There is so much to do, but I will not spoil it, but believe me, you will be busy for a while. Here is a brief overview of some features:

Swimming: Don't worry about falling into water and dying by accident, just swim back to the shore!

Cops using motorcycles(this wasn't implemented in original Vice City game)

New Vehicles: Rockstar listened and included the most vehicles into a title than ever before, including water and flying vehicles.

Weapons: new weapons implemented, including a silencer add-on.

Annoyances Removed: When arrested or wasted, you can now pay a bit more to get your weapons back.

Revenues from your businesses/empires are deposited into your pocket right away at the end of the day! No more waiting a day and running to " $ " icon to get your payouts.

Sounds:

This is why this game is such a great value: You get 105 different 80's songs from various radio stations, which is about 25%-50% more radio songs than previous averages. Once again, you will be treated for sexually-oriented humor on radio shows and hilarious commercials. If you are a fan of a radio as much as you are of a game itself, you will not be dissapointed!

Bottom Line: If you are a GTA fan, you will love it. If you aren't, you will learn to love it. This could arguably be Rockstar's best title of the series.

After having heard so much about GTA and never having played one, I had to get a GTA game when I got my PSP. I am not disappointed at all. The game reminds me of the old Police Quest PC type games, but then on the other side of the law.

The game tells a story and takes you from mission to mission. The missions are waved into the story, and that is done very well.

It is very entertaining. The language is rough, so maybe not for the younger, also some images are quite explicit. Nevertheless a two thumbs up and I recommend this game.

Cons: it is not easy to save a game.

Greatest game I played on the PSP. Good story and fun to play. Missions are fun and not too hard. If you played previous GTA games, the contols will flow like watr.

There aren't many good games on PSP. This is one of the best. Plays for hours, interesting missions, and lots of extra things to do. A no-brainer if you want something fun to do on the PSP.

First time playing PSP version of GTA. Graphics are awesome for a small handheld machine... and the special effects are better than my PC version! Controls will take some time to get used to... and the missions seem to be pretty simple overall... hopefully it gets better with time.

Maybe it's the new adventure set in Vice City with a new character. Maybe it's the fact that I can carry it around and play anytime, anywhere I want. Who knows? But, one thing I do know for sure is that I love Grand Theft Auto:Vice City Stories a heck of a sight more than Grand Theft Auto:Vice City for the PS2 Console. Course, this game takes place 2 years before that game does. It tells the story of Vic Vance. A soldier who makes one big mistake by trafficking drugs for his sergeant and is kicked to the curb by the service. It's then that he makes a tough choice. Build an empire of his own or be crushed by all the opposition that is into the drug trade. Guess which road he takes. Gary Busey, Danny Trejo, Phillip Michael Thomas, Phil Collins lead an all star cast providing voices for the game. Even DJ Luke is voiced by Luther R. Campbell, better known as Luke Skyywalker from rap group 2 Live Crew as well. Music by performers such as Egytian Lover, Run DMC, Whodini, The Jonzun Crew, Queensryche, Kiss, Dio, Dokken, Rick James, Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, The Human League, The Thompson Twins, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, ABC, among others are featured.

The game itself is a huge improvement over Liberty City Stories. All the graphics in this game have alot more detail to them. The framerate is alot better. There's less pop-up than before. You can even see alot farther in the game now with no problems. Essentially, though, it's the same GTA that we've played time and time again but who's complaining? Certainly not me. I'm amazed with this pocket version of GTA. Why? Well, I was expecting it to be a dumbed down version of GTA,actually. I was also expecting the loading times to be absolutely horrendous(like the PSP Midnight Club 3). Lo and behold, I was quite surprised that neither was the case with this game. It's quite an achievement for the PSP, believe me.

It's a great game. I love it. I just wish we could talk Rockstar into making a Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas Stories now. That would be real sweet for us PSP owners.
