To me, this is the most perfect PSP game to date, if you're a fan of God of War you can't wait to play this game, the story is great, the gameplay is like the PS2 games and the graphics are gorgeous (To me this game looks even better than God of War II).
The only bad thing of this game is the duration, in the first play you will have 7-8 hours of gameplay, the extras will add some more time, but believe me, you will love this game.
This was the best new PSP game I have played all year. It was fun and challenging and had lots of blood and fighting and killing.
Simply put, this is the best PSP game on the market and one of the most stunning handheld games ever made. The production value is through the roof. I have never played a handheld game that was of this caliber, if it were twice as long I would call it the single greatest achievement on any portable system.
From the moment I started the game, I was emotionally involved and I did not want to put the game down. I had not played the other GOW games, so this was all new to me... and I was hooked. The action was intense, but the puzzles were never complex.
The few issues that I had were with the length of the game, and the thumb pad, some fights hurt!
If you have a PSP, you have to play this game... I hope this is the harbinger of the future for the PSP, because it proves that Sony's little console is quite something!
I've never played GOW or GOW2 before so I'm a newbie to this game. Due to the high ratings people gave I decided to give it a try. It's the best game I've ever played on psp. If you own a psp and you're old enough to play this game, you need to play it, otherwise you don't know what you've missed.
The graphic's amazing. The game control is the best I've experienced on psp. The game designer made so many different combos for attacks and magic with the available keys on psp. There are four different difficulty levels so it will be fun and challenging for everyone. And you will also learn some neat stuff from Greek mythology.
In conclusion, this is an epic game.
so i played for 6hrs and beat it. i could not put it down. im on my second time through and its still just a great game. if you like god of war for the ps2, you will love it more for the psp
This game is overall a great game. The controlls are simple, graphics are great, and replayability is there. The only Thing I find wrong with this game is the story is very short. I litlerly beat the game in 4 days. And I am not saying I played it all day, I mean a few hours here and ther for 4 days and I beat. So dont expect this to be FF 12 long.
I bought this game cuz I am collecting all god of war games execellents games to whoever likes brutal fights. I can hardly wait for the third game. I recommend this games to everybody who likes good fights and adventures
Game rocks, may be a bit short but the challenges of the Gods extends gameplay for a long time. If you love God of War, you will love this handheld entry to the series. It is awesome.
I was unfamilier with the other GoW games and bought it because of all the positive reviews. I was not disappointed, and I am not a FPS gamer at all. The graphics are top-notch, and even if you are uncoordinated you should be able to slug through on the easy level with no problems at all. Then you'll want to go back and replay the game at a higher level once you've got your skills perfected. If you are an expert at these games God mode should have you busy for a while.
There is no reason not to add the game to your collection. I really doubt the reviewers that claim they can complete the game in less than 4 hours, there are a lot of puzzles to solve, some that will have you scratching your head, but they are a nice break in the action.
It's a pefectly balanced game, with great graphics, great plot, dead-on controls. I wouldn't change a thing. You won't be dissapointed in this game.
I thought Daxter was the best PSP game to date. The top spot has now been taken over by God of War: Chains of Olympus. It's by far the best looking PSP game I've ever seen. The shadows and particle effects look like something out of a PS2 game. The controls work very well and the story is intriguing. The cut scenes are top notch. I can't say enough good things about this game. It might be a tad short, but I think most fans of the series will want to play it again and again.
This game is the reason to purchase a PSP. The graphics are beautiful and the sound is crisp and storyline is kept within the boundaries of it's mythology, which I appreciate. Castlevania did the opposite and I was a little disappointed. This game has set the bar for other PSP games. It has the same level of "greatness" as most pioneering games of other game platforms, for it's small size. I hope these game designers keep on making other games for the PSP.
Well, it's been a long time coming, but Kratos has made his way to the small screen of our PSP's, and it was well worth waiting for!
From the description of the game on Amazon, it talks about epic gameplay on the PSP - but Chains of Olympus does more than this...it makes me forget that I'm playing on a PSP! Why? Because the graphics are absolutely breathtaking! The camera angles are a perfect match to the Playstation 2 counterparts of God of War and God of War 2.
In a nutshell, you get to follow along with Kratos in his forced servitude to the Olympian Gods.
There are a lot of combat moves, most of which are transfers from the other God of War games...but had to be changed with the lack of a second analog stick. Surprisingly, after a few hours of playing, you won't even notice because you adapt to the gameplay quickly. There are new weapons to power up, but the good ol' Blades of Chaos are right where they belong, in Kratos' hot little hands.
The boss battles are excellent. However, some of them will take a little intuition to figure out exactly how to defeat them, but hey, that's what God of War is all about...try, try again while slicing and dicing!
As far as the puzzle solving goes, some are definitely easier than others. Anyone familiar with the first 2 God of War games or Resident Evil should be able to figure out most of the puzzles without too much difficulty.
My only gripe about the game: As other reviewers have mentioned, it takes about 7 to 8 hours to solve it, and the PSP battery will not last anywhere near that long. But even if you run out of juice, you can plug the PSP in to recharge, and you'll pick up right where the game left off!
This is one of the best features of the PSP, being able to turn the unit off and pick up the gameplay when we're ready to.
With the unlockable content, advanced gameplay and extra costumes, God of War: Chains of Olympus is a MUST HAVE for the PSP.
Eat well, Spartan...FOR TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!!!
This game is so much fun. I wish they made all the other parts of this game for psp I would definately order them cause it so much fun to play.
This is one of best psp games i own. It looks fantastic and is great to pick up for some hack'n slash fun. This is a "Man's Portable Game" because its got tatas, blood, and violence and thats all a man needs. Now he can take it anywhere he goes.
So I'm not a doctor or in the medical field in any way. This game gives me one of the worst hand cramps ever. I'm not even passed the 2nd level and already I'm frustrated beyond replaying in the next 2 weeks.
The whole problem is a combination of the PSP's awkward positioning of the Joystick and the fact that this game does not let us change the controls. Plus it required 4 buttons to be pressed simultaneously to dodge (R1+L1+X+Joystick), and you'd have to do that ALOT. You can imagine the pain your hand has to go through to do all that.
However, this game is rated as the 2nd best game of the psp. So, if you dont mind the hand cramps, or are a HUGE action or God of War fan, this game is highly recommended (and i KNOW americans love God of War).
WARNING - this game does have some over 18 years of age material.
