This was the first game I got for my PS3 and it turned out to be one of the best. Stunning graphics, interesting storyline, and fun playability.
This has to be one of the best action/adventure games that I have every played! Naughty Dog has really raised the bar for other companies with Uncharted. There are stunning visuals, superb gameplay, action and suspense around every corner, and on top of all that there is spectacular musical soundtrack. All and all Naughty Dog has a HUGE hit on its hands. On top of that, this is a PS3 exclusive. This game is what the Playstation 3 is all about. Pick it up today, you won't be disappointed.
I thought every thing was just fine with the game it was brand new i recomend to every one to try this game and to buy directly from amazon it's like buying from a real store they them selves sell new stuff so you know its new i bought this game during the christmas season which was not smart since ther mail was all messed up where i live but they did every thing in there power to make things right for me to receive it
Awesome game from beginning to end.
Felt like I was watching a movie and controlling the main character.
Good story line, best graphics in a game that I've played so far.
Now I'm off to buy & play Uncharted 2. :)
There are a lot of positive reviews, so I'll keep it short. The visuals are really stunning, the game play is engaging and exciting enough to captivate nimble gamers, and the storyline is really innovative. I was also impressed by the length of the game: 22 chapters. You won't finish this one in a day or two. Now onto the harder levels!
the game its about 7-10 hours long
but each minute of it it's fun, from the puzzles, third person shooting, it feels like playing a movie.
This game is awesome. The best graphics and animation I have seen in PS3 to date and also included in this category is COD4. The game has great controls and it plays out like a CGI animated action adventure film and you control the character throughout the action. The story was very complex and enveloping. I couldn't put it down just to see what would happen next. For some the game could get a little repetitive but the difficulty changes as you progress further. Very realistic moves and a beautiful animation of the surroundings is a plus. Very highly recommended.
Call me crazy, but this has got to be one of the best looking games ever. I'm just going off of the demo (my copy hasn't shown up yet) but this makes Halo 3 look like a gamecube title. I own all three next gen consoles and this is the best looking game I may have ever seen since console gaming began, and I've been at it since Pong. Jaw dropping is not an exaggeration.
The movement and game mechanics are also second to none. Comparing again to Halo 3, the motion is always fluid and natural.
This is all from the demo, and I may revise after I get the full game, but first impressions are 5 stars.
Game was played on a 100" 1080p projected image.
Once again I come about two years to late to the video game front. However, even two years from its initial release date, Uncharted is a still a game that must be added to every PS3 owners library.
Uncharted plays out like a virtual action adventure movie. You play as Drake who is on a vessel with a TV host as he tries to find Sir Francis Drakes long lost treasure buried in the ocean. As a treasure hunter he is faced with opposition and the story starts from there. The beginning moments start out amazingly, nearly like a movie to be honest but you are actually playing. In several of these "would-be" cutscenes you can actually move around and start fighting enemies.
The games continues on from there and you go through the South American jungle searching for the treasure. It actually feels like an action adventure movie and I do not think it can be said enough.
Gameplay revolves around a mix of platforming puzzles (finding ways to manipulate the environment to open hidden passages or reach places that couldnt be reached such as scaling the cliffs) and firefighting scenes in which you are fighting opposition forces as they try to undermine and get to the treasure before you.
The game last approximately 12-15 hours on Easy difficulty and a bit greater depending on the other difficulties. The game can last longer if you want to get all of the trophys and unlockables such as concept art, music. Once the game is finished all of the cinematics are unlockable too.
Speaking of Cinematics the game is perhaps one of the most beautiful on the PS3. There are several moments in which you can tell the people who made the environments wanted you to stop and look out at the beauty of the waterfall, or cliffside, or the setting sun. It is amazing. There has been so much detail given to the characters faces that the emotion is definitely apparent, the game takes cutscenes to an entire new level. Speaking of which, there are no load times either, so the seamless play is all the better.
The soundtrack by Greg Edmondson is amazing and is also available to purchase. It is perhaps one of the best soundtracks available on the PS3 to date as well. Voice talents are splendid. This can also be seen how everyone clamors around the voices of Nathan Drake, Sully, and Elena whenever they appear at events. It is awesome.
The only con to the game is that some people claim that the shooting segments are too numerous or predictable, however in the context of the story it would make sense to have these moments. A moot point but the segments only take at most 10 minutes to complete (if you are not impeded by nasty traps).
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is one of the games on the Playstation 3 that highlights all aspects of a good game; fun gameplay, high production values in graphic technology, voice talent, and story, and great unlockables. Definitely check this game out if you have not. IT is never too late to pick up Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. It is the best $60 that I have spent!
Firmware Update from initial Release
*Trophy Support has been added
The graphics for this game are sick and only give a glimpse of the PS3's capabilities. I'll keep this review short and sweet. You play a character named Nathan Drake, who is hellbent on finding El dorado and he only has a small book and an old map to go off of. During the game, you'll be climbing and jumping from wall to wall (kind of like prince of persia), shooting down enemies in 3rd person style, and figuring out puzzles like in Tomb raider. This game is one of many games that makes the ps3 worth purchasing.
5 stars isn't enough to rate this game. it's amazing. the graphics are fantastic. the water looks so real, the fauna, everything as if it was hand sculpted one bit at a time. When Nate goes into water, he looks wet, when he comes out, he looks like he just came out of water. shadows are exact too. the jungles look real as well as the ancient temples and pretty much everything in the game. never have I seen a better game. The gameplay is amazing. there's always something new to do, sweet wepons, awesome fights, and looking for treasures along the way helps to keep it interesting when you get stuck. It's a crime if they don't come out with a sequal. I got it on Christmas and beat it yesterday. It wasn't a short game though and I usually don't spend my whole day, if any at all playing video games, but this one was so addicting, I couldn't stop. It had 22 chapters, all with great gameplay. And even my friend who hates the PS3 with passion (don't ask) and adores his 360 was convinced that it was a great game and now wants to buy a PS3. I knew the console would be good and now it has proven itself. I heard the Uncharted only uses about 30% of the PS3's power, so the sequal to Uncharted should be even better, if it happens, and since this game was so good, I wouldn't be surprised. There wasn't really much to go on at the end of the game that would make you think of a sequal, but with ratings like this, it'll happen.
I've played quite a few games on all the systems, but this game is what next gen was built for. Great immersive story, the levels are beautifully designed and artistically detailed. I'd find myself walking very slowly in between shootouts just to look at the amazing world they created. The gameplay is outstanding as well. To put it bluntly....GET THIS GAME!!
Many people complain there is no system seller on the PS3 (just because they haven't hyped their games to the point of saturation like Halo) but this game is IT! This is one of the best games I've ever played in my 25 years of playing video games, you owe it to yourself to play this game.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
This was easily one of the best games I have ever played. There were a few challenging levels but with practice you can only get better. For anyone who is not sure if he/she should get it, if you like adventure/shooter, it's the best game out there for the PS3. Comparing it to a game like Assassin's Creed, Uncharted wins flat out. In AC you repeat things over and over but in Uncharted, every corner has a surprise, ready and waiting for you. This game wasn't only focusing on gameplay itself but it had a story to it as well, and I believe there will be a sequel with an even better story/lay-out. Again, this is the best game out there for the PS3 (for adventurous people that is!) I finished this game in about 2 weeks but I WAS playing full-out, lol... Wish it was longer, other than that, flawless...
This game is so good that my girlfriend actually sits and watches me play. The story is riveting and the graphics are amazing.
This game is very fun. I wish it were longer, story is amazing. This shooter stand out from the rest.
