My favorite fighting game on the new generation consoles. If you've played the super nintendo game, then get ready to step your game with the all new ultra combos and the online feature.

  • from Amazon

I think this game compiles everything that Street Fighter gamers need, excellent graphics, excellent motion, all characters that we love and more, and the always missed bonus stages, definitively the most beautiful piece in the Street Fighter gamers collection, it's a must have.

  • from Amazon

I absolutly loved SF4 and love SSF4 Way more. The Graphics are awesome and stylized. There are plenty of old and new fighters to master and each has 2 Ultra Combos instead of just 1 like in SF4. The presentation is better in this one. This is pretty much SF4 with way more stuff. If you have SF4 I would suggest this one as well. For the price i paid I really like it. The one little complaint I have is I wish the controls were as reponsive as MVC2 or Alpha series. But don't hesitate to buy. 5 stars

I am almost 40 and when I was a kid I remember playing Street Fighter in the arcade and then at home. It has always been a 2D fighter. This latest iteration helps this long in the tooth fighting game revive some of its newness and lost luster. Now you can fight as all of the original fighters plus 9 new ones. I have not played the online multiplayer yet.

Gameplay (+)

This game is a fantastic 2 player game to have at your house when your friends come over. Its so much fun to battle your friends head to head as characters you have played in the past. The mechanics are still the same and you can pull off combos with the right joystick movement/ button combo.

Graphics (+)

The last street fighter I played was probably 4 years ago and at that time they were trying to introduce 3D into it. It was never that convincing because one of the beauties of this game is actually the 2D space. By restricting you to only forward and back you can concentrate on the killer moves needed to take out your opponent. What this version does (and others prior to this might but I never played them), is bring in 3D movements and marry that to the 2D space. Now your fighting moves are very lifelike and yet you are bound to the restrictions that make this game work.

Scenes (+)

The scenes are just great. Each one of the characters has their background that fits their look. Each one is animated with great characters or objects.

New Characters (+/-)

I like the new characters. Each has their own style and special moves. I have not unlocked special characters as of yet. The main selectable new characters have cool looks, and genre specific styles that emulate where they come from like Juri is Korean and has a Hapkido/Tae Kwon Do look to her style. The negative I can see is that the new characters are archetypal versions of what we already have. The big muscular slow fighter, the fast quick light fighter and so on. Nothing added is really innovative other than their special moves.

Special Moves / Finishing moves (+)

Some of the finishing moves are absolutely hilarious and great to taunt your friends with. An example is Hakan; this fat slow guy that resembles a hippo. Some of his finishing moves I have tried out are awesome. He slimes himself up so when he fights hes slippery. He uses that slime to do some cool finishing moves on people. I have not tried every character out, but have seen some of the moves watching friends play this in the arcade.

Tactics: (+)

You could go into this doing the same combo over and over and quickly see that you would have your butt handed to you. This iteration of the Street Fighter series rewards you for tactics in that there is more damage done when you pull off the harder moves and not spam your opponent with them repeatedly.

Summary:

Overall this is a fantastic fighter to have in your arsenal of games. The price makes it even more appealing. I highly recommend it!

Thanks for reading my review.

This is one of the funnest games I've ever played. Definitely the funnest I've played in 2010. Has the best replay value of any game out there.

I don't quite agree with the reviews that say "this is what Vanilla Street Fighter should have been like," because well sure that would have been nice if it was, but how would Capcom know what the fans want fixed from the original, before the original was out?

They pretty much saw what players wanted and fixed allot of what fans said needed fixing. We now have a "super" balanced game, where (at least to me) it seems nearly impossible to tell which characters are better, as now they all require learning how to use, and all have tough matchups.

This game, much like the rest of the street fighter series, is NOT designed to be played till you beat the game. This is a tournament style game designed to be played against other people. You will never get good at it if you only play against the CPU. Likewise if none of your friends play the game and you aren't willing to get into the Street Fighter scene to find good players to play against, and only like games with a very well developed storyline, I would suggest you pass this one up. It takes a *TON* of time and effort to get to even a mediocre level of play. Also you have to not mind loosing, because if you're new to fighting games you WILL lose a lot.

However if you are a fan of fighting games what are you waiting for? BUY the damn game and start practicing! If you're looking to get into 2D fighter games and are considering starting out with SFIV, yes get this over the vanilla SF or any other current 2D fighting game, it will have the most people playing it, and is the funnest one.

Also don't forget to pick up a stick (if you don't already have one), I personally prefer the TE layout over the Hori layout, but that's is all opinion. There is no real different between the madcatz SFIV TE and the SSFIV TE, so unless you want it for looks, get whichever is cheaper.

I actually got it for both platforms because it's that awesome.

With the new online modes such as Endless Battle, Tournament Mode, Team Matches, and an improved Ranked Matches, it makes playing online much more fun from the previous Street Fighter 4. Also you don't need to unlock all the characters, you get them all at the beginning of the game,

I love this game, I play it over 120 hours now and still playing. If you're serious about fighting games, I'd get the fight stick Super Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition S - Black.

SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4. When I heard of this I knew it was a must-have game just like Street Fighter 4. Street Figher 4 really set the standard and the bar very high for fighting games when I played I just thought who can do any better than this: Ryu, Ken, Fei Long and Sagat in 3D Blu Ray. That's what I thought when I played SS4 until I played Super Streeat Fighter 4 it took the same people to top the standards of SS4 I love all of the new features such as Team Battles 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3, or 4 vs. 4 elimanation style fights played 8 players online, for the true showoff like myself Endless Battle 8 players again take part in an elimination style fight again and fight until they lose and should to able to spectate other people fights to see how well someone does who may have beaten you and there's replay channel where you could watche recorded matches and get great tips and tricks from other online gamers matches. They also brought back the bonus stages destroy the car, break the barrels you remember from the old SS days. New Ultra Combos you now have 2 you select which one before each fight and the are really impressive new cinematics for some like Zangief and you should definitely love Fei Long's even if you're not a fan of his I won't spoil for you don't worry. Last but certainly not least the new comers such as Juri a Taekwondo fighter and Hakan a wrestler SS took a risk by adding him but I love them doing it he should've already been here and let's not forget about Guy & Cody from Final Fight, T Hawk, DeeJay, Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto and my personal favorite Adon. And just think you paid $60 for SF4 and you pay $40 for SSF4 the upgrade is cheaper than the original. Street Fighter really put all other fighting games for PS3 to shame it's better than all of them Tekken6 King of Fighters12 MK vs DC all of them... GAMEPLAY 5 Stars, New Features 5 Stars, Online Gameplay 5 Stars, New Characters 5 Stars SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4 5 STARS PERFECT.

I just wanted to address some of the main complaints I see with regards to this game.

Apparently, some folks out there who purchased the original Street Fighter 4 have a problem with "paying for the same game twice".

Some folks think that they "wasted their money" on the original SF4, because Super SF4 is better.

Others think that this is nothing more than "Capcom's attempt to milk a franchise and rip off its customers."

I can understand the cynicism n this day and age, but it's unwarranted here,

-You aren't "paying for the same game twice", because of the ridiculous amount of additional content they've added. 10 brand new characters is major. Most franchises don't even add 10 new characters in a SEQUEL, let alone an update. PLUS gameplay revisions and all new ultras for the existing cast that can completely change the way the old characters are played. PLUS a more social online atmosphere thanks to lobbies, team battle, and the upcoming free DLC tournament mode. There's a lot of stuff here that wasn't here before...

-You didn't "waste your money" on the original SF4 because IT WAS A GREAT GAME, AND YOU ENJOYED IT. The original SF4 was a fantastic, genre-reviving game with infinite replay value and appeal. The past 14 months of intense beat downs, tournaments, hype, and discovery were well worth the $60 we paid for it. Purchasing Super SF4 won't change that. Especially since the knowledge you earned over the past year will serve you very well in this new game.

-This isn't "Capcom's attempt to milk a franchise and rip off its customers", because so much of the ingredients to this feast were based on fan requests. Online lobbies? Fans demanded it. Better balance? Fans demanded it. Street Fighter 3 characters? Fans demanded it. Listening to classic character themes during regular battles? Fans demanded it. The list goes on. Capcom simply saw the demand, and provided the supply. Sure, it would have been great if this massive cornucopia of fighting were available in the original SF4, but unfortunately Capcom doesn't have a magic wand that creates fighting games out of thin air. Limited time and resources forced them to split the costs and risks over two separate releases (remember, the original SF4 was a huge gamble that Capcom wasn't sure would be a success.)

In the end, it's all just business. In February 2009, Capcom released a game called Street Fighter 4. I paid 60 bucks, and in return got way more than 60 bucks worth of value for it. Both sides profited.

Fast forward to April 2010 as Capcom now approaches me with the similar proposition. Pay them 60 bucks in exchange for more than 60 bucks worth of enjoyment. I see no reason why I shouldn't pull the trigger again.

Oh wait...you mean to tell me, it's not 60 bucks? It's even CHEAPER?

Well, maybe we need to reconsider who exactly is ripping off whom here...

I bought this game from Amazon and it was a total $18.00 price. This game is great, all characters are unlocked since the begining.

TIP: 2 colors for each character will be unlocked if you have a save file of the previous version.

This is possibly the best fighting game up to date. Nice graphic, smooth game play, fluidity for tactical maneuvers if you're into mind-game fun. This is basically everything you want in a fighting games. My only complaint is that we need more characters and more stages.

Find a good player, either offline or online and have fun with it. However, if you suck then this game is not for you because it can be frustrating getting your ass's kicked. Or if you have anger problem and suck at the same time then this game is definitely not for you. Unless of course, that's what you enjoy. Although, if you just want to have fun then this game is a must have.

Nothing much to say...really...

10 new characters is not accurate marketing for this game. Try 35 new characters! The tweaks and improvement to the existing characters as well as adding Ultra Moves really changes the balance. The new stages are simply beautiful. The online while still laggy at times from my experience (I am on Comcast internet though)is by far the best online multiplayer for any fighting game yet. I do have issues finding ranked matches like in the last version of SF4. However entering Arcade mode with fight request on will get you in a match fast enough. Endless Battle and Team Battle are welcome fun additions to the Online component. Even the menus look better. The music is better as well. Gone is the indestructible boy band j-pop Theme. For those of you who aren't fond of the SF4 battle themes have the option of using the character stage themes from previous games. All in all my only complaint would have to go the Arcade mode. Capcom was grilled for the prolouge and ending sequences being so lazily animated in SF4's first console outing. Now these movies aren't even animated at all they are still shots with character monolouges. I will say that the rival battle sequences are much cooler so +1 for that. All in all dont believe anyone who tells you this is not an expansion. This is an entirely new experience worthy of a disc release and at Forty dollars there is no reason not to own this game.

Super Street Fighter 4 is hands down the best in the franchise's history. They actually made it feel like a whole new game, instead of just Street Fighter 4 with extra's. For just fourty bucks, you get 10 additional characters, with 2 brand new ones, and 8 more from SF's past games, Street Fighter Alpha, and Street Fighter 3. Thats excellent, since some of my favorates are in here, like Adon, Guy, and Makoto. I've also grown to like Juri, the new and powerful sadistic female character. Anyways, the gameplay and graphics haven't changed much from the first one, but you can now choose alternative costumes for all the characters, and you now have a choice out of two super art moves for all the characters, like Street Fighter 3 Third Strike. Also new are those bonus games like smashing a car or some barrells from SF II. Also, the online mode has been completley redone. This time around there is a whole lot to choose from like team battle, endless battle, and of course ranked or unranked matches. All of these are very fun to play by the way. Overall, Super Street Fighter 4 is game every fight fan should own, and for fourty bucks?! why wouldn't you wanna buy this awsome game for such a low price?! 5/5.
