The comic book was not so great but the game was AMAZING! I highly recommend this game, especially if you like creepy horror survival shooting games like Bioshock. I beat the game twice since it came out and the trophies are easy to earn. I am yet to try the multiplayer, looks exciting though. No split screen. If you are reading this, then I am TELLING YOU: BUY THIS GAME IT IS AWESOME! {tyler dean}

Dude get this game. I have a bunch of FPS games in my collecting and this is has to be my favorite. It's not all about the guns; you have to use your brains with the guns. Example: some monsters are too fast for you to shoot them so you have to slow them down with a TMD bubble then shoot the heck out of them. Some parts are hard as heck and will make you want to smash your controller (game rage) but once you figure out how to defeat the bosses you'll smile. It's all about brains in this game. Oh and the sniper rifle that slows down time and you can guide the bullet(is to die for).

Summer's here and there is a lack of FPS games. At first I was hesitant to purchase Singularity, but I'm glad I did!

The gameplay is your standard FPS fare, nothing new or boundary pushing in Singularity. The story is interesting, I like the sci-fi elements. There are too many "war" FPS games out there so Singularity fills the void nicely.

Over the course of the game, you receive a Time Manipulation Device, or TMD. As you play, your TMD is upgraded with powers such as slowing down time, reverting enemies into creatures that go on a rampage, picking up and throwing objects around the environment, and using TMD power as a thruster to knock back and harm enemies and objects.

I like the variety of enemies in this game. You have Russian troops coming after you as well as different types of mutated humans as a result of the explosion and E99. Enemies use a variety of weapons and the mutants can throw exploding barrels at you.

The graphics in the game are average, similar to the "war" type FPS games where objects and textures appear somewhat blurry/pixelated when you stand next to them. It's nothing serious and it didn't affect my enjoyment of the game at all.

There are a number of different weapons, your standard rifle and shotgun, pistol, grenade launcher (with a remote controlled rolling bomb secondary attack), sniper rifle, and more, I don't want to give away everything. Each weapon's clip capacity, reload speed, and damage can be upgraded twice using weapon kits you find in various places around the levels. First level upgrades require one kit, 2nd require 2.

Scattered everywhere in the game is E99, an element used in everything in this alternate reality. You collect various containers of it and it's used as a currency to purchase different upgrades such as carrying more health packs, using health faster, longer sprint, more oxygen for swimming, extra weapon precision, and what not. These different upgrades must be found on blueprints around the levels. They are generally easy to spot but there are a few that you may pass by.

Overall Singularity is an extremely underrated game. I'm sad that it hasn't sold more copies because Raven is a good developer. I thought that by sharing my opinions of the game, I can sway people to check it out. I've put about 8 hours into the game and I'm not finished yet. I still have another chapter and a half or so. I'm playing on hard difficuly and there are places where you will die repeatedly, but nothing so frustrating that you throw the controller.

Just got the game today and I am in a little way into the game and so far (AWSOME,AWSOME,AWSOME). A very cool and AWSOME game and it is unlike other games, I mean you just don't pick up a gun a start shooting, I recomend it and I hardly ever give reviews, Thanks!

I'm not far into the game yet but I am enjoying so far. It's accurate the say that this game is a blend of F.E.A.R., Half-Life 2, and BioShock. All the great elements are combined to create a highly-entertaining package. The TMD device is cool but weapons aren't too unique other than the ability to guide bullets with one of the special guns. I haven't played online yet but I've heard it's a little buggy with not a lot of players.

The only big negative I would give is the absence of subtitles. This may seem minor to most people but I usually play late at night and have to keep the volume low. This along with Russian accents by the voiceover makes it difficult to follow the story at times.

I would give this a 3.5 out of 5 for now. Give it a try if you don't have anything else to play right now.

This game hasn't really gotten a lot of buzz and what buzz it has gotten has been rather average, but it's really pretty fun. The graphics look a little dated compared to what's out there for the consoles now, but it's not terrible. Gameplay is pretty standard FPS with a twist, ala the TMD. Another writer compared it to the plasmids of Bioshock and that sums it up pretty well. If you just run and shoot, you will get through the game pretty quickly, but if you like to take your time and explore, like I do, you can stretch it out to 8-9 hours. You could almost call Singularity a poor man's Bioshock and by saying that if you liked Bioshock, you will like Singularity. Their multiplayer has really gotten some poor ratings, but the problem is not with the gameplay, but the sorry servers. It's like Raven didn't really think that too many people were going to play online so they shortchanged us on the servers. The multiplayer games are really very fun, to me, if you can get in a game. Each game consists of two rounds. You get to play as soldiers and as the monsters which is very cool. In my opinion, Singularity is under rated and if your on the fence as to whether to purchase, go ahead. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I'm only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the game is awesome but not perfect and I want a perfect sequel. I hope they fix all the problems for number 2

If you like Bioshock, Wolfenstine or any game like that, you will love this game.

And like those games you upgrade weapons and powers to make you super powerful and making the game pretty darn easy by the end.

A few problems though, it is way to short, but it didn't feel to repetitive because of it.

The levels felt very boxed in and very linear with so many invisible walls, although it appears when looking around these beautiful levels, as if you could walk, run and jump all over the place, you can not. It's got an old school feel and that's ok with me.

The guns feel crappy, lite and flimsy, I want weight to my guns, and unique sounds, these have your generic reload and shoot sounds.

Now don't get me wrong, the guns are cool, like the seeker, if you have played it, you know what I mean. Or that grenade gun thing with the balls, it's awesome .

Your TMD (time manipulation device) in the game feels like plasmids, but that's ok, because it works very well.

And speaking of the TMD you can't use it on everything, (which is weird) only things that light up your TMD crosshair.

There are "lite" puzzles, they're really not hard to figure out, as a game becomes more difficult so should the puzzles in that game, this is not like that in this game at all.

It's like they took all the best Sci-Fi survival horror games and took a bunch of the best parts and gimmicks, rolled them all together and made a burritos out of it. It's a delicious game. All the negatives can be over looked, by how much fun you will have playing it.

I'm on my second playthrough now on hard and I think it's more fun that way too.

Oh and it sucks no one is online for multiplayer......... how am I suppose to get those trophies when no one is online?

I thought this game was great. I had a great time with the time manipulation and found the story to be intriguing. It did remind me a lot of Bio Shock and sometimes had a Dead Space feel to it.

I also enjoyed some of the unique weapons. One very fun weapon allows you to shoot at enemies from a distance by manually directing your bullet while it flies through the air in slow motion. I found this to be very fun. It was also nice that the games auto save areas were spread out so that after a death or a restart I would continue near where my last game ended.

My biggest complaints would be that the game was short. Some of the coolest guns had to be dropped in order to use your normal weapons. And I was bugged that although the game is set in Russia everything was in English even though some of the people spoke with a slight accent and occasionally there was some Russian writing hidden on primarily English signs and letters.

Let me first say that if this game had come out last month I might have overlooked it. I decided to buy it on release day because there is not much coming out this month and I need something to play. I was unsure how I would like this game because the reviews have been somewhat lower than I expected they would be. I love first person shooters, however; so I took the chance. I'm glad I did. This game is great, just not perfect. It reminds me of Timeshift/Doom3/Quake4/Wolfenstein. The controls are tight and are mapped like Call of Duty with the exception of a few new controls. The atomosphere is gloomy but well presented. I won't go into too much detail as to not ruin any suprises, but if you are looking for a good sci-fi themed shooter look no further.

Singularity is an excellent one-player FPS experience; unfortunately it is only about 6-7 hours long. These few hours of gameplay are extremely fun, and I plan to tackle it again as you can approach the many awesome set-pieces and enemy encounters in a myriad of ways, but you could really get away with knocking this game out twice in a single rental. Unless you are getting it out of the discount bin this is probably not worth a purchase - a 6 hour campaign in a game like CoD:MW2 can be forgiven when the multiplayer is the real meat of the game, but Singularity is campaign-focused, so it is ultimately just lacking in content.

That said, Singularity does very well what most games do poorly: it steals from other great games while adding in a few ideas of its own. The Time-Manipulation Device (TMD) around which most of the game is based more or less functions like the gravity gun in Half-Life 2, but you can also use it to create time-freezing bubbles (like in Ratchet and Clank: a Crack in Time), or to 'fast-forward' or 'rewind' enemies and some items in time. You will use all of these functions to solve puzzles and kill Russian troops of the past and present as well as some interesting creatures (giant spiders that launch rockets out of their mouths? check). The 'feel' of the game is ripped straight from Bioshock, including similar colors and abandoned environments; ditto for the pickups and upgrades, though the weapons lockers and TMD stations aren't as inspired as the vending machines in Bioshock. There isn't nearly as much insane variety for your non-gun hand either. But the weapons that go boom are a heck of a lot cooler in Singularity, and the core shooting mechanics are just smoother and more satisfying. Here the game takes from Call of Duty with a nice, quick auto-aim when you go down sights. It compiles the best elements of some of the best games and puts them all together, and they, surprisingly, all blend well into what somehow ends up a moderately original experience.

The reason this all succeeds so well is because of pacing and variety. I am honestly ok with the short length of the campaign because you rarely go through the same type of gameplay twice. You will be shooting down troops in standard FPS style, sneaking by some ferocious creatures in another, battling a giant RE5 inspired boss on a collapsing train in the next, even working through a time-shifting, rocking old ship in the harbor at one very cool point. The enemies vary a lot and there is a ton of choice in weapons: pick the pair you like and you will be able to upgrade them and stick with them, or move on to something different. They are all there to be checked out of weapons lockers all along the way. Or you can focus on TMD powers and kill enemies in less bullet-oriented ways. It all comes together to form an experience that is scripted throughout, but leaves a lot of player choice as to how to make it through a well-crafted sequence.

As for the basics, the graphics are good but not top tier, and the story is entertaining but nothing to write home about. It all fits well within the game's genre and world though. There are definitely worse ways to spend money on a game, but the lack of content on the disc could be a serious issue for many out there. I am definitely satisfied with it but perhaps it would have been more successful as a digital release with a lower price tag. It is a great game, it is just hard to justify as a full MSRP title.

There is nothing new in this game that you haven't seen elsewhere before. The combat is decent and the story is a typical sci-fi time travel escapade. I played the campaign on normal and it is incredibly easy for a number of reasons--they've strewn a plethora of health packs throughout, most of which you won't even pick up because you've already maxed out; all the weapons are too powerful and you also have the ability to upgrade them; and you have the ability to freeze time. For these reasons I'd recommend playing on a higher difficulty so it'll be more of a challenge. I won't be replaying this however because it is a rental at best. I was hoping for some more boss battles but they are few and far between. You become basically God at the end because you are essentially invincible with your powers. I didn't bother with multiplayer so there may be something there.

The review title pretty much says it all. This game has a decent story, not the best. The game is fun to play, but you definitely do not get your moneys worth. The bottom line is that you can easily get through the entire game in a few days of casual play (2 hours or so per day) There is nothing that really stands out about Singularity. It makes for a great rental or a purchase that ends abruptly with buyers remorse.

My experience with this game has been lousy. Not nearly as good as the demo. I love survival horror but, this game...

OK for me, the game play is inconsistent.

No control over saves, auto saves only. If the player runs out of health and dies, the entire portion of the game has to be replayed.

Run out of ammo way to quick even on Easy mode.

Navigating to game areas is linear, not much flexibility. One area a technique works, another area with the same appearance, technique does not work.

My co-workers and I are so disappointed. Oh well time to move on. Save your money. I suggest waiting untill the price comes down before trying.
