this is a great addition to you ps3 but it has a flaw. yes it has a piece that can hold your controler but if you look at the pic the curve were the ps3 goes it's on the wrong side. so when you go to hang up your controler, it's behind your system. but the leds in the base are so dam cool. plus USB powered, means you don't have to find a new plug. i love it.

screw putting it on my playstation 3!!! This went on my 06 wrx sti as well!! I can't explain how freakin rad this make my car look! The only down side is that it added a little extra weight to my ride and now the extra 1.7 hp I got from the Playstation 3 intercooler is now irrelavent. son of beeatch

I really like the stand. Way more than I expected I would. The glow it puts off is relatively bright. I was a little bummed that it doesn't alternate between blue and red, but for the price, it's not bad. I would definately recommend this to any 20GB owners. I have a 20GB version, as I really had no use for the 60GB features. It causes a small problem for 60GB PS3 owners by blocking the usage of the media card reader's door, but if you're not the extremely lazy type or if you normally don't even use the media card slots anyway, 60GB owners should like it, too. Really helps the stability for those who position the PS3 in the vertical position.

The PS3 has an internal fan that adjusts based on needed cooling to minimize noise. I set my PS3 on the wrong end once and blocked the vents - within a few seconds the fan was going like a little jet turbine - I uncovered the vents after getting this alert and got a puff of very warm air - within seconds the fan was back to normal speeds.

A teraflop, and they set it up so that you could run Linux on it and access the floating point cell processors with a free development kit. in 1995, years ago, a teraflop was only achievable on the highest end Crays - their last gasp high end machine could do a teraflop for some geology applications. Now anyone can have a teraflop - for a few hundred bucks, and get free software to access it, too (the only internal component blocked in Linux is the video accelerator).

My real point is that the cell chip (expecially the version being sold by Sony) is a bleeding edge chip by any standards, and it has to be well cooled. Sony seems to have done the job right, which is why you don't need external coolers. Maybe with Wii, you need an external cooler for relability.

Many people really like the look of the PS3, especially the high end one. Thus, they don't think it needs anything to dress it up. YMMV.

I have an 80gb PS3 and this stand does not block any ports. It comes with a usb cord for you to plug into the usb port on your PS3, which then powers the stand its blue color. I have never seen it alternate to red like advertised. Overall, I like this Intec PS3 stand and the light is awesome too.

I recently got this item and it's so perfect. My 80gb ps3 fits on it with no problem, and i have to admit the lights are pretty hot. The stand only has blue lights i have never seen any red lights come on. Anyway the item is great it really looks nice in the dark and its a perfect stand for your playstation 3.

This is a perfect addition to your ps3, mine didnt come with 2 extra usb ports but there was the one and it was in the front so you dont have to lean over the back to plug anything in. Also unless you put this in wrong on your ps3 the 60/80 gb door on the front does open and has no problem of opening it contours the ps3 just right so you dont have that problem but if you put the ps3 2 far back then there wont be enough room.

The Glow Stand is a very cool product. The 6 blue leds emit a bright blue on the face of the PS3, making it look like it is on display. I play in the dark a lot so this is a very helpful product. Since it connects using a usb chord, it has one on it; so that really helps a lot. Since I have Rock Band 2, the instruments take up all of your usb ports, so I really am glad it has an extra usb port. The product also helps cool your PS3, since the PS3 is standing, the vents can breathe easily. I would highly reccomend this product to anybody who has a PS3! =)

This product is very slick looking and does increase the stability of the PS3 when in the vertical position. It is powered by a USB port but has a pass through port on the stand, so you don't lose any ports. I never did see my stand alternate between blue and red. It only illuminated in a blue color.

The door to access the media slots on the 60GB system will not open when in the stand. It is really only good for the 20GB system.

This is what i have always wanted, to be able to display my PS3 in a vertical position and this stand does it with style and added stability. The quality is top notch, and i can even use the Nyko Intercooler TS while using the stand. The card reader door opens fine (actually i dont understand how some people can actually use this stand in a manner that interferes with the door). It uses a usb conection to light up the lights, and it has a usb port on the base so that you dont loose any usb port for the lighting effect, very nice touch. It has a optional controller holder which if you dont want to use just dont use the adapter and it wont get in the way.

I ordered this vertical stand to securely hold my 20GB PS3 in the upright position. It has fulfilled this purpose exceedingly well!!! It has the option (via a switch on the back) to to give off a very cool blue light along the bottom edges of the clear Lucite supports which hold the console in place. It is powered by USB,so no additional power bricks will use up needed spots on your power-strip!! IMHO this unit is well worth the price; it is sleek,sturdy,and works very well.
