Simply amazing. In addition to that, the best deal when it comes to a Blu-ray player. Just one comment, before signing up for the playstation network, be sure that the playstation store is available in your country...

I've had no technical issues with the newest model thus far. Its light weight and burns less energy than previous models. It's easy to use and streams Netflix.

I am a gadget guy and have been a gamer since the Atari 2600 which was released on my 10th birthday. I have seen the evolution of gaming and can appreciate the days of Combat, Circus, and Tempest. I love to game, but for anyone on the fence as to whether they should get the PS3 or the XBOX360 - listen up. The PS3 is not a gaming console. It is an incredible multimedia center that happens to play ridiculously good games. I had the PS3 for 3 months before I ever put a game into it and I was completely entertained anyway.

To begin, the BlueRay disc player is top notch. I love that it is a direct drive and not a tray loader. Much cooler and you never have to worry about an annoying tray bumping up against a cabinet door or breaking. Let's face it, the less moving parts, the better. Always the case. What I love about the PS3 mostly is that it connected to my home network perfectly and with very little effort on my part. It automatically detected my home media server and allows me to stream music, photos, and videos from my home server where we keep all of our media files. It's just a smart machine that is capable of doing it all.

If you are in the market to purchase a BlueRay player, get the PS3. It will play your BlueRay disks better than any other player out there and that only represents about 20% of what this device can do for you. now that I have played a few games on it, i can say that the graphics are stunning and the games they are releasing for it are amazing. Just got to you tube and look at the trailers for Heavy Rain which is a game set to be released in 2010 aimed at adult audiences.

This is a full encompassing media center that is a perfect addition to any home theater system and is a great system for gamers or non gamers. SONY really gambled on this device and they did the right thing. We all worried that Blue Ray would fail, as did the beta back in the 80's, but BlueRay won over HD and this system is by far the best bang for the buck over anything else out there. Bravo SONY - and thank you for creating this thing.

It plays Blue Ray movies, Netflix movies online (you have to request a netflix installation disc), the PS network is pretty solid (Internet search, youtube, and a second life-like game built-in, where you interact with people all over the world in a virtual 3D environment). The Playstation Network is free, which makes the PS3 the best value considering you get the wireless antenna built-in and the b-ray capability. The games exclusive to this system are amazing, like littlebig planet, metal gear, uncharted 2, gran turismo, and the upcoming version of God of War. It's the best system in the market, but the Nintendo Wii is better for children.

I bought the Playstation 3 Slim primarily for its blu-ray capabilities and I can safely say that it is by far the best blu-ray player I have tested. I used to have a Samsung BD-P4600 and it occasionally could not read new blu-rays even though I was at the latest firmware released by Samsung. I switched to the Playstation 3 and I couldn't be happier. This beast will play anything you throw at it and it is just as quiet as my old Samsung Blu-Ray Player. I have yet to have any problems with this unit. Another unfortunate thing with my previous Samsung blu-ray player is that it failed on me 3 months after purchase. This has been running steady with no hiccups for over a month now. I'll give this unit 5 stars and 2 thumbs way up.

In terms of video games, I have not used that feature as much since I already have an Xbox 360. I am sure it is just as good or even better than the Xbox 360.

i got it on the day it was expected to arrive. works GREAT!! it was very nice not having to pay taxes and having free shipping! and it was the only place to find a ps3, anywhere!

I received the PS3 a few days ago. As an owner of a launch PS3 system, I'm loving this much more. It's going to be easier to travel with it. It's much lighter, consumes a lot less power, and it feels well-built.

I'll still keep the old PS3, as I've kept all the consoles I've bought in the past since the NES.

The playstation 3 arrived in excellent time. I am very happy with the product and will buy from amazon again.

The PS3 Slim is considerably smaller than the Classic PS3, which is incredibly handy for us. Our cabinet is too far away from our TV, so we have all of our electronics wall mounted. The PS3 Slim was a perfect addition for us. AND, the capabilities are endless! We love the Blu-Ray - who needs a separate DVD player when you have a PS3 Slim?! We're looking forward to loading Netflix and taking that for a spin.

It is a bummer that we can't play our PS2 games on the PS3 Slim, but the PS2 works well with our play room TV. Besides, Sony did what they needed to do to keep the PS3 Slim an affordable price...sorry for anyone that paid $600 for a Classic PS3.

So far I have been enjoying this system. It works pretty well and the games are great. I just started using the hdmi connector and the graphics are ten times much better than the regular connector. Overall I am satisfied with this product.

I had a 40g that I paid $499.99 for about 4-5 years ago. It ended up crashing on me about a month ago...ordered this 120g for $[...]. Was a complete steal compared to the old deal. The slim is a lot roomier too, and does everything that the old ps3 does anyway; so i'm not bummed about the change from the old system or anything.

this item was also backordered and was back in stock within a week and shipped out(got to my house a week before they said it would originally).

I was among the first to purchase the PS3 slim. To be succint these are my likes/dislikes in bullet points:

I like:

- The smaller form factor

- It's very quiet (compared to the Xbox 360)

- There is not huge adaptor (only a cable that runs directly from the system to the power point)

- Pleasant interface

- It can stream almost any content (except DRM media) from my HP mediasmart homeserver

- That there is a webrowser

- That one can upgrade the harddrive

I dislike (or like less, cuz they're not show stoppers)

- The relatively low loading of blue ray (from the moment you put it in to the moment it actually starts playing)

- That it only has 2 usb ports and that both are in the front (I would have liked to have one or two in the back to connect the dongle for my wireless keyboard)

- The webrowser is nice to have, but not very fast and not too friendly. A more common safari/opera/IE would have been even nicer

- That it doesn't support SACD, PS2 games or even have the card readers the original model had

Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It has replaced the old dvd player that I had and I even took away my media center PC, much of the functions the PS3 can do. Together with my homeserver and sonos, this is a great addition to my audio/video stack.
