This game is sweet. I think most of the people complaining about it have the 360 version. The PS3 version has no issues that I have noticed. I think its better than 2k9 for sure.
Hubby has been buying the 2k series for a few years now and he loves it! It's so much better than nba live. the only thing bad about this year 2k10 is that it freezes sometimes during the middle of the game.
He loves the new features of creating your player and having the player work up to become an nba player!
This is the greatest basketball game of ALL TIME. If you are not a real ball player and expect to score every time you shoot then I ain't even talking to you. This game is for grown ups clearly. -Ritchie "King of Ypsilanti" Knox
NBA 2K10 is arguably the best basketball game that I have ever played. It's fun and it's suitable for all ages. You will not be disappointed If you purchase this game.
At the start of every season 2K impresses me, this is a great game and a must buy by basketball fans. Im not going to compare it with other basketball games, but this one has exceeded my expectations. the live features are great (todays game and updated roster, the game play has never been as relestic. the commentary has improved from 2K9. One thing that I didn't like was unadded features to the new My Player mode like the quarter length, clones, and etc.. I heared that all of that will be fixed so it is ok. Maybe some people will argue players ratings but I thing the game and players will be updated according to their performance on the NBA, so it is alright too. For me I think the game is near perfect, just wondering how perfect will I think it would be next year with 2K11.. nice job 2K, nice job...
I played NBA 2K8 and 2K9...This game is by far the best out of the three. Graphics are unbelievable, gameplay is fun and very fluid. For those who love the NBA, this game is for them.
I've been playing old Xbox games before this weekend, and boy was I blown away by this game. I love Basketball games and play out seasons on the hardest levels with 12 min quarters (not simulating any games). This game is so cutting edge! It brings AWESOME headliners after every game, like: Last night Kobe scored 35 in win! I love that. No other basketball game has done this. I loved how the commentaries will discuss about last game, saying so and so had a good/bad game and other cool stuff. The moves are realistic. People dunk and it looks real. So cool. Jump shots are quick, not slow and easy to block like old games. I love how good they make true shooters of the game. And the mannerisms are RIGHT on for players. I love how Lamar Odom, after a bad call, lays the ball on the court (he really does that!) so that the ref has to go get it.
Despite the bugs, this is still the NBA game to beat. So here's what I feel improved over 2k9 and some annoying things about this version.
My Player - this is a huge improvement over 2k9, you can almost dedicate to play this only and forgo playing the Association completely, yes, it's that deep. However, despite saying that, this part of the game is heavily bugged. Can't adjust minutes / qtr, season ends after year 1 (major bug), getting booted off D-League for no reason then hired right back, and other annoying bugs like these. Supposedly there is a patch coming out that will address these issues. It's been over a month after release, the patch really should of been out by now, but we are all still waiting.
NBA Today - Season is still fresh, so haven't done much testing on this yet. It basically downloads the real NBA games that will happen on the day and update the roster with 2k's view of the player attributes. Nice touch, though we'll have a better handle on this as the season progresses.
Graphics - Yes, this improved compared to 2k9 again, just slightly.
Commentary - This is a big step forward. Being able to recall past games played again the same team, less errors, more variations, they did some good things with this part, big move up.
Play Calling - Expanded now, previous had 4 basics, and 4 specials, no there's 4 standard plays and 4 players dedicated for each position. So you can call 24 plays on the fly.
Annoying issues -
1. Always online. The constant uploading and downloading is very time consuming, especially when PSN kicks you off constantly, some days you just want to play offline, so the forced "connecting to PSN" & "failed to connect to PSN" is really a pain.
2. Bonked layups and dunks. Wide open dunks & layups being missed by 80+ rated players, yes, in real life those would go on the blooper wheel, but in 2k10, this happens far too often.
3. Slow time outs. AI takes time outs for no reason, and then the dancers come out, then u press x, then it starts. This whole process is nothing but a waste of time. Just let us press x to skip this dancer running to the floor.
4. Constant subbing ( my player bug). Each dead ball, sub in & out.
Hopefully the patch get released soon and these bugs gets fixed. Really wanted to give this a 5 star rating, if only they can get the bugs fixes asap.
My 11 year old son bought this game. Here is his review.
This is one of the best games I have ever played. With a few minor adjustments, it would be perfect. I got this game at Gamestop and I cant put it down. I actually feel like I'm watchin a real game.
PROS:
Graphics-Unbelievable
Gameplay-A great time
Extras_- Nba blacktop cant be beat
Sound-Amazing.
My Player is also great
CONS:
When you drive to the basket and are surrouned by the D, you will often drop the ball and the AI will pickit up and sink a half courter. They will hit any shot they try. It is nothing that can't be fixed but if 2K wants to make the game realistic and fun, FIX IT!!
I absolutely love this game and I would recommend it to everyone. The controls are fairly easy to learn because you only need the basic ones.
BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Great game. FINALLY they made a my player mode for a basketball game. It's about time.
For me this is the best game of all time. I really recommend to all fans of basketball and NBA.
It's a very good game. The game transition is perfect. Even my dad thought I'm watching a real NBA game sometimes. If you are looking for a NBA game in 2010, then this is the one.
I had high expectations for NBA 2K10 since the summer and had been looking forward to its launch for awhile. The last basketball game I bought was NBA Courtside 2002 for the Gamecube and I figured it was time for an upgrade. I was debating between 2K10 and Live 10, which after its solid demo, Live proved to be a worthy contender. I had heard great things about the 2K franchise and all of the awards it had earned, but still investigated my other options. Now that I have had a chance to play 2K10 and explore its depth and wealth of features, I am satisfied to say I made the right choice. The "My Player" mode would be good enough to spend $60 on alone and the mode isn't even one of the main features. The Association is very well done and allows players to be a real GM, making moves and managing salaries, all while trying to build a winning team. One of the best features of the game is that it can cater to both hard core and casual gamers with its options. Options can be adjusted to you can have a simple game without strategy, or it can be the opposite as well. All in all, this game has enough depth (plus the constantly updating rosters)to keep me engaged for the next 7 years.
I am a basektball junkie..and with that said i like playing the sport watching and playing the video games so therefore i like the basketball game to be life like i feel the 2k series has delievered once again. although the game has glitches right now they should be adressed in the near future such as wen u kick out to a open shooter and he freezes or the post game slows down and results in a 3 sec call..nothin major at least to me. but the lockdown d control is good unlike last yr in 2k9 no matter what you did cpu morphed 3pointers in your face and ima 2k legend..dont sleep on me now i also have played live since then to and nba live has always been behind 2k still is but nba live is kinda like arcade baskeball i can see why people enjoy that you can shoot fadeaways with players who dont really shoot fadeaways while in Nba 2k series players have always played like how they played...so if you for a more realistic simulation style buy 2k if you want a more flasy fadeaway quick game game get live or if you ballin get both lol this jus my opinion i will probably get live lata on as i always do when the season half over but for now 2k the game to get...also the presentation with kevin harlen and clark is official keeps you excited but to sum it up basically if you a average gamer get nba live the controls will be more to your flavor and you will adapt quickly to nba live but if you want a realistic feel get nba 2k10..........
This game is real fun and as realistic a basketball game can get. Online play with NBA today is cool where you can play along side the teams real schedule or just play random games against anyone else. It gets my vote for 5 stars.
