I have loved this game from the first day I played it. Although I was a bit skeptical at first (I mostly play COD and games of that genre) but I was surprised. It is very creative and not too hard to learn. I would recommend this for younger kids and even adults. This is the only game me and my wife agree on and can actually play together.

This game is very beautiful to look at, very engaging and challenging, and even has a creativity element where you customize your own levels. It is completely wholesome and involves no shooting, which earns huge Mom-points. It is rare that a game will engage both boys and girls, seems like everything is designed for boy interests, but this game does that. My kids played it every day of Christmas vacation, I could hardly tear them away. Now they are connecting with friends and playing it. I'm really not that into video games and I think this one is wonderful.

It is so refreshing to find a game that not only captivates a child's imagination, but keeps him intrigued and engaged. This is a great game for the whole familly and a game that you can feel good about letting your child play.

From all the reviews I've read before purchasing this game I was a little skeptical that it wouldn't be for me. I was wrong. Matter fact I purchased it for my 5 year old boy first, just to keep him away from some of my other games while I'm at work. And you know what? This game stays in the PS3 all day. Not only that, when I get home from work the first thing he wants to do is play Little BIG planet. Its fun for me and him. I was hoping for simplified controls like a Mario plat former with just a jump button. But he's figured out how to use the Dual Shock 3 just as good as me. With the main buttons, X to jump and R1 to grab things, it couldn't be any easier. He also knows how to change their clothes and apply stickers and so on. This game is simple, plain and easy. The only problem he may have is figuring out that the game has some physics involved. Running faster to get further jumps, holding the jump button longer, how to jump on springs like objects to get higher takes a little timing that I even have trouble with. This game has plenty of levels, I play maybe an hour a day since I bought it and still have not finished everything. You can also make your own levels, download levels that others have created online, and play with people online. This game has infinite replay if you get into the community. Also, If you want to teach a child how to be greedy with items than this game is for you. I forgot to say that this game is fun for me too. Glad purchased it and you'll be too. One if the few must own exclusives for the PS3, this is coming from a 360 lover.

I picked this game up along with Uncharted 2 and a copy of Halo 3: ODST a few weeks ago when Toys R Us had their buy two get one free deal. Just looking at the case for this game my initial thoughts were that it was very kiddish and not worth my time, however I did play the demo available on playstation network before buying so I knew what to expect and was not disapointed.

You play the game as a sack boy, or girl, characters you customize with clothing, accessories, hairstyles, eyes and more as you play through the game you unlock more costumes, and features. The game is a side scroller platformer puzzle game where you go through stages dodging enemies, swinging across things and using items like stickers to find more items all which add to the best part of the game, creation mode. This game of the year edition comes with 50 levels to play through but the best thing in this game is the content created by the community which according to the back of the case is over 1 million stages and growing. I've played a number of these stages and they really are varied and it is amazing to see what people can make with this game, things like boards with Street fighter 2 characters, Starwars themed, Metal Gear, haunted houses, amusement parks, and the list goes on and on. I myself tried creating a board or two and though anyone can make simple levels the more complex stuff is really difficult to pull off but rewarding none the less. It took me an hour to figure out how to make a simple elevator that goes up and down but I felt so good about myself afterwards and would go on to spend another five or so hours before my first level was complete. The tutorials in the game do a pretty good job of teaching you things and after you complete each one you are rewarded with new items to use in your stages ranging from materials such as different kinds of wood, metals, cardboards, foams, and more. If you have the playstation camera add on you can do even more customization however I do not own one so I cannot comment on how this works, but it is good to know that feature is there.

So don't be put off by the cute looking characters, the game does start off easy but later levels are very difficult, and with the online community you will have lots of content to come back to and should add to the replay value. I am very happy with this purchase and am going to give this game a 5 out of 5, anyone with even a little bit of a creative streak will really enjoy it so check it out.

Little Big Planet is one of the first games that I have ever played that actually makes me feel as if e game is happy to see me. Stephen Fry is the perfect actor to provide the training voiceovers as well as the game's opening video VoiceOver. The pod then fills the screen, nothing more than a glorified cardboard box hovering thousands of feet above a little planet that looks as if it belongs in a Wallace and Gromit cartoon. The menu is controlled with your own version of the game's signature "sack boy" mascot who can be customized with crazy outfits and other accessories to your heart's content. This character stands at a giant representation of the Dualshock 3 PS3 controller and here the world opens to you.

At the very least Little Big Planet can be experienced through the pre-made developer challenges, which are beautifully designed and provide a fantastic overview of the different themes, sights and sounds that Little Big Planet can create. These challenges are tied together with a thin story told almost entirely in text bosses about a collector stealing bits of the world and holding them. But this is quickly forgotten as your sack boy leaps across chasms, grabbing onto fast-moving carts, fluffy elevators and spinning wheels made of red pleather. It's enough to bring out the inner child of even the most jaded gamers.

But Little Big Planet truly comes to life online, where players can search through a giant planet covered in patches, each representing a user-made level. The levels can be sorted by tag, rating, popularity or any number of helpful methods of sorting. Not all the levels are perfect, but quantity more than makes up for quality and some of the levels are gems, ranging from the delightfully silly to the ominous and scary (seriously). You also have the ability to make your own levels, and sadly this is what I can comment on the least because my level acting skills were minimal. But as a consumer of what has come out of the level creator, I can testify to it's quality and depth. Gamers need more games like Little Big Planet. It is a true gem.

This game is easy enough for me to play, and challenging enough for my 23 year old son and 20 year old daughter to keep playing.

I had heard about this game but constantly put off getting it. Then I heard about all the awards it was getting. I was like, I love 2D games, I love Mario and Sonic. Shadow Complex was a great Next-Gen 2D game. But what game could possibly be worth all that praise for a 2D game in 2009/2010. Well I downloaded the demo...I was sold in about 2 minutes. Immediately it becomes clear why the game is so much fun. It isn't a game that takes ideas, this game truly is innovation. The game not only allows you to customize sack boy but also customize just about anything in some way. All sorts of hidden things to be found. There is always about 3-4 panes of the 2D gameplay. I have never played a 2D game with so many areas one can explore. I've played two pane 2D games on Neo Geo games such as Top Hunter. But this is something else. The funny thing is, from pictures, you may think the graphics are nothing special. But actually hands-on playing it. Graphically, there is really no 2D game quite like it. Its one of a kind. The gameplay is always fun, sometimes puzzling. You can go at things easy, or you can challenge youself to find all the hidden items. Since the hidden items can actually be used for customization or creation. It makes wanting to find these hidden items much more important then in most other 2D games with hidden objects. The game of the year edition includes several fan made levels and some dlc extras such as the metal gear solid snake pack. Cool little extras, but the game is great as is. My only issue with the game, is the controls can be a little hit or miss. Because the 2D levels have so many panes. Sometimes I find myself skipping into another pane unintentionally. Also if your pushing an item, once it can no longer be pushed, the controls automatically move you up a pane. That actually be a bit annoying because I can't tell if I did it by accident or if the game did it on purpose. I wish they just let me push the object and then stop. I can move myself to the next pan if I want to. But none of that is big enough to hurt the game. Its marvelous. Deserves all its praise.

I don't care how hardcore a gamer you may be. How Killzone 2 or Resistence 2 you may be. Give this game a shot. Its truly worth it's price and then some.

We just bought this for our 7 year old as her first video game. It is fantastic in the PS3. The whole family plays and when not playing watches. Great family time!

My two daughters love this game and allows them to play together and work as a team. Fantastic to see them laugh and groan together.

A perfect fun game for everyone!! The best part is us parents can play with our kids of all ages and actually have a good time in doing so!

The best part IMO is that my 2 children, a boy and girl, that argue like cats and dogs, actually get along when helping each other through the levels. This game encourages co-operation!!!!! Both kids share in the goodies along the way.

Being on the online community also adds more levels and more variety!

This is a true 'family game'. Somebody finally did it right!

I recommend this version, full of more fun, for all families.

My husband just loves this game and has been enjoying it since Christmas. It's a lot of fun and seeing all the user-created levels has added something different for the game. Highly recommend!

I purchased this for my 6-yr-old son, my entire family is addicted to it and we have given the bug to another family. Fun on all levels, challenging as well.

This has got to be one of the most inventive games ever created. With the addition of online play, the worlds are virtually endless. Some, not worth playing, but some fantastic. The ability that the game gives you to create your own levels to share with others is great too. This was, by far, the best game purchase I have ever made!
