Best FPS played in ages. Addictive and fun with some COD4 and TF2 mixed together. Not innovative, but awesome.
I have had this game since day one. Its now January 22 2010. I'm still playing it!!! There is no other FPS out there like this. Killzone is really one of a kind. The games atmosphere is gorgeous. The graphics are amazing, second only to Uncharted 2, and second to none in the FPS genre on consoles. Heres a tip, hook your PS3 up to surround sound and play this game and BAM, you will be blown away.
Multiplayer is all team based. Theres 12 ranks you go through which unlock multiple guns and badges. Badges such as air bots, turrets, C4, boost, and med packs. This game takes skill to play. You might sneer at that fact about "skill", but pop this game in and it feels like no other FPS.
I give this game 5 stars because it is truly a captivating single player and online multiplayer experience. Its a one of a kind shooter with the fan base to back it up. Tons of people are still playing and no problem finding matches at all.
No, matter how many games I have in my gaming library I still play Killzone every other day. BUY IT!!!
Killzone 2 is prob one of the best FPS games out there. it has great gameplay, beautiful graphics, and a good story. controls are alil slower but its on purpose , its a lot more realistic. to the people who gave this game a 1, well i can only guess they own a xbox 360. jelous much? this game deserves nowhere near a 1 star. this game is worth the price as i will have fun with it years down the road. this is a fun fast paced action game, bullets flying everywhere and death all around you. if youre looking for a awesome FPS with the best graphics out there and awesome online, go pick this game up right now!
Killzone 2.
I have a lot of mixed feelings toward the supposed "definitive FPS title" for PS3.
It's definately not a bad game, it just doesn't live up to the hype.
The lack of offline co-op makes the multiplayer relatively unappealing to me. It's single player mode is taxing at most for the first few missions. Yet, as you get comfortable with the gameplay, the storyline ends and leaves you itching for more.
Its slight learning curve is nonexistant for any FPS veterans. Yet, even the most hardcore players might need some time to adjust to the heavy motion sickness brought forth by the gameplay. According to their public relation, it's an intended design. How much it affects your gameplay varies from person to person, but I've known some who simply cannot sit down and play Killzone 2 for an extended period of time without feeling nauseated.
The online multiplayer is perhaps its biggest redeeming factor, but the community has dwindled since its initial launch. While still large enough to satisfy most, I found myself leaping from a limited assortment of games, hoping to find a game mode that I actually enjoy.
Overall, Killzone 2 is a great title, and, for the most part, stands worthy of its many praises.
Yet, regardless of all its potentials, I can't help but feel like it fails to meet my many expectations.
If you never tried the game, it's definately worth a playthrough.
If Jessica Alba was a game this would be it...
you can't buy Jessica Alba, but you can buy this game so... you should buy it
the multiplayer super good like Chinese rice bowl with soy sauce
the campaign also super good like super good donut on Sunday morning
i want to chant long time about super good game
it super good
The single player game has a ton of action and really puts you in the middle of it. You have to make quick decisions on your tactics, then be ready to change them as the AI is great and will flush you out. Use of the cover system works great, but you have to move to new cover or you'll get picked off - very realistic. This prevents both camping and running and gunning. If you're okay with that then you will immensely enjoy the game. That's not to say you can't do some of those, but you have to mix it up. I killed many a Helghast with melee (even got a trophy for it) so it just shows you have to play to the situations as they unfold.
I had no problems with the controls or swearing, and I actually liked the story. Get into it and you'll be playing online saying "Get those ISA scum" or "Damn Red Eyed Freaks".
Radec is tough at the end and I had to stop and come back to it but I got the trophy for taking him in less than 20 minutes (about 40 secs. under), so I guess I did ok. I felt triumphant afterwards.
The graphics and sound are incredible without a doubt.
The multiplayer is extensive and a lot of fun. Unlocking the classes helps enjoy the gameplay in different ways as you move up. I like to be a tacticion and try to get in close to drop a good spawn point (normally dying in the process) It is fast paced and gets your adrenaline going. If you like FPS games, then KZ2 delivers.
I initially had reservations about this game due to the various reviews concerning the bad controls and sensitivity. But I bought it 4 days ago and got the patch and it didn't feel sluggish at all. I don't know if it is the patch or the fact that most people came into the game after having played cod 4 and/or waw. I am guessing both. I am currently playing it and enjoying it immensely.
This game is not just beautiful looking, by saying this many people underrated in a big way.
This is a hard FPS (if you play it in the hardest dificulty), and one if not the greatest online experience out there.
Buy this game!!!!
Having taken a several year break from FPS after the Halo 2 POS game, jumping back in at KZ2 instead of COD4 has been interesting. I had trouble getting back into the FPS for the first couple hours of play, but once I did, I was dragged in to the mulitplayer. I can't get enough of it! The multiplayer maps and scenarios produces very satisfying and dynamic scenes. If you give the game a few hours in multiplayer to get used to the controls, you will fall in love with it.
this game graphic wise is definitely entertaining, but the game controls and the extent of attachment to the reality in this game is sort of sucking the fun out of vidoe gaming. the only one machine gun feature in this game is so off putting and the no crouching option is unacceptable.
The game cairtenly doesn't deserve a less than 4 stars rating but it also doesn't deserve a 5 star rating.
Great game for any FPS fan, fun single player campaign with memorable boss fights and an excellent online multi-player mode that will keep you hooked. You definitely get your moneys worth with this game.
I've really come to like this game as a matter of fact the more I play it, the more I appreciate and love it. The physics of the players are very realistic, graphics are incredible and so is the game play. There's a good single player campaign to work through but I think this game really shines when it comes to multiplayer. Rarely do I encounter server drops or gimmicky tactics that I see in Call of Duty or other games. Plus it's class based and there are upgrades so tons of replay value.
If you haven't picked up Killzone 2 yet, then do so now! This game lives up to all of it's high scoring reviews. Sony has done it again. It always takes Sony 2 years before you see the power of their gaming console, and killzone 2 is by far the best looking game this generation. I have all three systems and the PS3 is my favorite.
The enemies aren't super easy to kill like most games, the animations are great and the battles are intense! I don't know what you're waiting on. Get it now!
I'm just giving this game 5 stars to balance out all the one star reviews(for all of you that don't know what I am talking about, go to the 1 star reviews and read the review posted by Master Chief; be sure to read his comment, about how he is giving this game 1 star to balance all the 5 star reviews.) On a serious note this game is awsome one of the bes fps out there. The controls are AMAZING!!! multiplayer is probably the best; everything is well balanced there is no dominate faction love this. I love the fact you make your own clan(nice to have a group of friends that you play with online put in its own group). There is to much to talk about, and really not enough time or space on amazon, this truely is a game worth owning.
Oh and all the 1 star reviews are xbots, talking about how the controls suck and yaddy yaddy, dont listen to the haters the controls work fine and they can be changed to meet your play style. Other 1 star reviews have complained that the cover system and knife have been taken out of the multiplayer mode(which is true), but if these two mechanics were in the multiplayer mode, you should call this game killzone ninjas. the knife is a instant kill, who would use a gun if this was put in the multiplayer game play. The cover system being taken out works out for the better. Without the cover system it makes the game more aggressive and gives you that "your at war type feel". This game is a must have for all ps3 owners.
This game is extremely fun to play if you are into FPS games. The game controls are easy to pick up and the game has a very rich, detailed environment with awesome graphics! The only thing that I was disappointed with was that the control movements were a bit sluggish, I don't know if they meant to do that to make it more realistic but it frustrated me at the beginning... even though you get used to it as you play it more often. But overall I would totally recommend this game.
