I bought this game from GameStop the day it came out, and have been playing it since. Going for platinum!

If you like FPS games, then this is definitely the game for you.

If you are a fan of FPSs, just buy this game. I was apprehensive at first since many of the current gen games are so complex with all of the button options and functions, but MW2 succeeds in perfectly balancing its complexity with its simplicity. This is seriously the BEST FPS I have EVER played and could also easily be considered the easiest to jump right in to. The graphics, the atmosphere and the overall experience are so engrossing and completely real that you will not want to put it down. Certain missions are so involving that you'll find yourself wondering "what if..." (After you've played for about 2 hours you'll understand what I mean. It's pretty incredible.) As I said before, just buy it. You will not be disappointed.

[...] All I can really say is that MW and MW2 are the best games I have ever played. The only downside? It completely spoils you. If you try to play some other shooter you just want it to be more like COD. The gameplay is phenomenal. We will always be able to find gripes with personal preference issues like the perks or equipment you can carry. And nobody wants to see a game this good end. But solo campaigns have to end sometime people! Then you just go and squander months of your life on the best multiplayer around. AC-130's all day baby. Go get this game. You will not regret it.

I bought this game for my hubby and son the day it came out and they just love it.. graphics rock, story line is great too.. the detailing of the military eperience .. the entire game is great.. I EVEN LOVE IT.. the controls arent difficult which makes for fun game play rather than brain bending trying to keep up with the controls...

As everyone has said, the single player is short and the multiplayer is amazing. The sheer amount of unlockable perks, weapon upgrades, titles and challenges means virtually limitless content. Referring back to the single-player, the story is hard to keep track of and doesn't make the most sense. However, there were quite a few moments when I found myself holding my breath in suspense. There are some parts that were moving and others that fell flat. There is indeed a scene which you can choose to skip for disturbing content which I most certainly did not. I will say it was interesting and leave it at that. I find the PS3 analog sticks and controls much more fluid and easy to use than the 360, just a personal preference. In conclusion, the minor drawbacks do not take away from the overall fun factor and dramatic nature of this game. I would highly recommend purchasing it if you haven't already.

They say sequels are never as good as the first. Well, this was is just as good or better. I've played three missions thus far and I'm highly impressed with the graphics and the type of missions.

Nice job....

I only have one question... When is # 3 going to be out?

Online: Ok, so I have been a huge COD fan since Modern Warfare 1 came out. The MW1 multi-player was pretty good, but I still preferred the World at War online. Modern Warfare 2 combines the best of COD 4 and 5 and puts them into one kick-ass package. It's the little things really, like having party members show up blue on radar, being able to join a friends game without accepting an invite, and being able to choose you're own kill-streak rewards.

Previous Call of Duty's had a max online level of 55, and 65. The new Modern Warfare goes all the way up to 70, so it really gives you something hard to work towards. All 70 levels go by quicker than you think with tons of challenges and rewards including Pro versions of all perks which you must unlock. There are tons of guns, both primary and secondary, along with multiple attachments to unlock for each. You can never stop playing because there is always an item a few kills away that you want to unlock. I got this game on the midnight release and in 2 weeks and 2.5 day's of playing time I have almost made it to level 70, that's an average of 6 hours a day. Talk about addicting!

Campaign/Spec Op's: I have only played a few hours of the campaign because I have been busy with multiplayer, but I can already tell you it's good and from what everyone has been saying, it gets even better. Spec Op's is a nice touch, it adds dozens of "mini-missions" which are available as co-op online. Some are races against time, some are about defending waves of enemies, and other's are just about survival. I do wish the whole campaign was co-op, but I'll settle for Spec-Op's.

Graphics: The graphics have been improved over Modern Warfare 1, but they still lack high resolution textures. The models, environments, greenery, and weather are perfect, but there are now a few games out there that have it beat (Uncharted 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4 being the main ones).

If you don't have high speed internet, this game loses much of it's value since alot of it is geared towards online, but when it comes to multi-player this game is where it's at. Whether you and your buddies like to do co-op sniper missions, or jump online and battle it out with 20+ people online, you will find your home in this game. Overall, I think this game is one of the best, and will stay that way until new Call of Duty's come out on the next generation of consoles. But until then, I will be playing Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3.

This game is AWESOME! It was a little buggy at first online, but what do expect from the biggest entertainment release ever! Graphics are beautiful and all the games modes are great. I would highly recommend this game.

If you just got a console and are looking to buy five games, this ought to be one of the five. Don't even think about it. There is just one caveat:

As you may have heard, there is a disturbing sequence that the game will allow more fragile gamers to skip without penalty. If you're one such gamer, I caution you that even if you skip the "No Russian" sequence, Modern Warfare 2 is dark and brutally violent. Clearly made by psychos and degenerates. My suggestion would be to avoid this title, sell your console and buy a Wii.

As for the rest of us:

This game is dark, brutally violent and thoroughly enjoyable on every level of experience. As some reviewers have noted, the single player campaign runs short -- enough so to earn it 4.5 instead of 5 overall stars (in my opinion). However, the richness of detail and suppleness of gameplay is a fair trade-off. So on a "fun" scale, MW2 knocks it out of the park. It's also the kind of campaign that is as -- if not more -- enjoyable to try to beat on higher levels of difficulty. So don't think you'll play the single player once over the course of an afternoon and be done with it. I, for one, grudglingly (and with some shame) had to lower the level of difficulty from "hardened" to "normal" on my first run-through because I kept getting killed over and over again. However, once you get the feel of the game and the environments, "hardened" is not impossible. There are also lots of "special ops" missions that are quite fun.

As for the multiplayer, the split-screen option will garner you hours and hours of enjoyment if you like hunting and killing your friends as much as I do. There are many maps and layers of strategy that unfold the more you play. My friends and I play lots of various (offline) deathmatches against one another, and Modern Warfare 2 has thus proved to be the best. Mad fun. The game would be worth the $60 for the multiplayer game alone.

As far as online play goes, I cannot really comment with great authority. I simply don't have serious skills in that department. Nor do I have the determination and hours to acquire them. However, if you're into online multiplayer shooters, or are thinking about getting into them, MW2 will certainly do it for you. Just beware, like any online shooter campaign, be prepared to die often before getting the hang of it. Also be prepared to endure much ridicule from the other players. Seriously though, online multiplayer MW2 is like a competitive sport: you've got to stay in constant practice to dominate.

The story. I personally loved the story. It's like Red Dawn meets Rambo. The narrative unfolds largely with exposition over schematics between missions, which is a little unfortunate, but all in all it's quite a lot of fun. I'll say no more. Wouldn't want to spoil it for you.

I enjoy this game so much the story line was just great. The graphics are the best you can find on a console.
