I dont see how anybody can get the game without the gadgets. that is just my two cents. If it were perfect it would be 500 bucks. it is just great. i recommend.

I was a little worried about buying this because Mad Catz doesn't exactly have a wonderful history in my experience with them. I gave this a shot because I really like the idea of mapping the L3 and R3 buttons to the back of the controller and I read a few favorable reviews on it.

First off, it's a super comfortable controller with rubber grips on the sides that keep the controller in your hand. It's much lighter than a dual shock as it does not have rumble (which I prefer, rumble is annoying) and it's also slightly larger than a dual shock which I like as well. The buttons on the face of the controller work just like a first part controller. The D-Pad is larger and is slightly mushy. Don't take that as "not responsive", it works fine, it just isn't as firm as the Dual Shock. The analog sticks feel very similar to Sony's as far as texture goes, but they are much more stiff than Sony's. That means using them is a slight adjustment because you have to press harder than you would with the first party controller. Not a negative in my book, just an adjustment. The R2/L2 triggers are probably the biggest improvement over the Dual Shock. They are wider and have an actual trigger feel to them. They are also super snappy, they snap back to place instantly.

I need to mention the additional buttons on the back of the controllers as that is the main reason I purchased this. The default is to have the buttons replace the R3/L3 (which replaces pushing down on the analog sticks) but you can customize that to other buttons as well. The buttons sit on the back of the controller right where my index fingers rest. The buttons are responsive and actually turn out to be a nice advantage over the Dual Shock. Instead of trying to press down an analog stick (which lead me to aim incorrectly or run in a wrong direction) I can just press the buttons on the back and keep my view/aim/direction correct with no issue. If you find the analog stick button press annoying, this is a great controller for you.

The R1/L1 triggers are my only real complaint. They are mushy, similar to the D-Pad, and need to be pressed a certain way to get them to work. It's just an adjustment as to where I need to put my fingers instead of how I was used to using them before. After an hour of using the controller, I was fine.

The last thing to touch on is the look of the controller. I love the digital camo (I got white) and the LED's under the analog sticks are a nice touch to give the controller a unique, custom look. In the box you get a USB dongle (sorry, it's not bluetooth), charge cable and carrying case. The case is a throw away, but it's nice to get an extra charge cable.

Overall, this is a great controller, probably the best Mad Catz product I have used. Is it as good as Sony's Dual Shock? No, but it's very close. For me the controller was worth it for the comfort (love those grips), re-mapping of the R3/L3 buttons and the aesthetics of a nice design. It might not be for everyone and it might not be as useful to other types of games, but it works very well with FPS games, which are my favorite. I'd gladly recommend this if you just want something other than a Dual Shock.

I have the arctic camo version and love the feel of the controller. It has rubber on the sides and the L3 and R3 buttons light up green when you turn them on. The instructions suck that came with it. I have definite lag when playing online. That's the main problem. Even playing a campain game the controller still lags. Love the controllers looks, hate the response and playability. Also need to have the vibrate/shock system in it.

When i first got my hands on this controller it felt kinda weird, but after playing with it for a while i got use to it. The 3 things i hate about this controller is 1. the D-Pad, 2. where the select and start buttons are and 3. the L1 & R1 other than Mad catz did a ok job making this controller.

sure it looks cool and everything and feels good or whatever but whats the point if you cant pop heads with it. When you press the shoulder buttons if your not directly over it then the buttons dont press. There terrible, the regular dualshock 3 is the best most responsive controller to use. The sticks on this controller lag as well. Basically if you want to show off to your friends about how you wasted 50 dollars buy this controller. If you want to pop heads and decapitate fools keep the microsoft of sony controller that came with the system. Save your money the manufacturing if this controller is criminal. Its junk.

controller kinda sucks. Trigger response is terrible. Hard to keep firing in MW2, you really have to push down on the trigger button vs the OEM PS3 controller. Should've just got a controller with a turbo or rapid fire button.

I was hoping I'd find this controller more favorable for playing FPS games since it has concave triggers instead of the convex ones on the DualShock3. They performed ok for me, not really any better or worse. The issue is the analog sticks. There is no precision. The sticks have a huge dead zone where no input on the stick will register in the game. When you finally get outside the dead zone it moves too much. This leads to your crosshairs passing right by your target. Another thing that bugged me a little was the responsiveness of the L1 and R1 buttons. I tended to hit the outside parts of these buttons, and when I did that they would not register unless I pressed harder than I normally would. If I focused on hitting the buttons more towards the center lighter presses registered fine. I also would have preferred concave sticks as I feel I have more control over them that way. I played NCAA Football 10 with this as well and playing that felt a little different but not really in a bad way. It worked fine for that. It also doesn't have rumble, which I could care less about, but other people do not like. The controller does have some nice things about it. It fits comfortably in your hand. The rubberized grips are comfortable. It has two buttons on the back you can map to one of three buttons each. R3, SQ, and TR for the right side and L3, X, and O for the left. They work well as alternatives to analog stick presses, but for me the could have been about 1/8 inch closer to the middle, but that's nitpicking. The dongle is nice and small, the size and shape of a flash drive. The lights on the analog stick are actually kind of cool but I never leave them on as they are too bright and distracting. If you are going to use this for an FPS, and since its Modern Warfare 2 branded I imagine you are, I would certainly avoid this controller. I'm not sure if you could do worse since the only other controller I've used is the DS3, which is superior to this. I've gone back to the DS3 for MW2 and will be getting rid of this controller.

After facing the obstacles of using the Dualshock 3 with basketball sized hands, I decided to try the newly released Modern warfare 2 Controller. Unfortunatly Looks can be decieving as this controller is lacking in almost every way. First of All You need a free USB port to use it wirelessly. Second, Mine would not run wirelessly no matter what, and required two USB ports to even work. 3rd You cannot have anything else plugged in at the same time as the controller, otherwise the PS3 gives a power overload message. 4th, The Joysticks are incredibly unprecise and "jump" when you move the crosshairs in an FPS title. 5th The LIghts did not work no matter what. 6th, the R1 and L1 are very difficult to reach, due to poor ergonomic design. pitty those whose games do not let you switch r1 to r2. 7th, THe special "Swap" buttons are too small for even a toddler to use effectivly, even being smaller than cell phone buttons. THe D PAd sticks Horribly. Only good thing is the shape of the controller, and thats it !!!

This controller was a big waste of money! I keep it in the box and I don't even use it.

I barely even touch the knobs, and my man goes all over the place! You can't even aim to shoot anyone.

Maybe that's why they called this controller a "collector's edition", because your just suppose to let it "collect" dust.
