This is the best multi/single/co-op player game I have ever played! The graphics have gone over the edge in insaneness, also the amount of new weapons/perks/killstreeks are insane! I highly recommend this game to any one out there who is a beginner or a hardened veteran! This beats halo 3 and MW by a long shot! the only thing is that the .2 points I subtracted is because there is a sence of halo 3 when your doing a 1v1v1v1 or a 2v2. but other than that GREAT GAME!!

This game is really broken, it was fun at first but now it really isn't. I can honestly tell you that I don't like playing this game but it's just incredibly addicting. From the online aspect, you have to deal with nuke boosters which is a major problem. Also, understand that Activision is putting out a map pack that is already out for xbox which costs $15. No this is not a typo, $15. The story mode is very short and i was able to get through it in a week (i'm not a hardcore gamer so this is too short for me). As far as problems with the game being addressed, i doubt it now that Activision has to deal with the mess they created through the signing of a bad contract and there "F you" approach that they have taken with their community. You can find out more information on how Activision had this game blow up in their face if you google it. Umm... enjoy.

Very captivating story. no mp campaign, boo. new special ops mode is pretty sweet but only if you have second player and its limited to two players. mp online is fun. inviting a friend to a match sucks compared to world at war. player matching is nonexistent as new players are stuffed in matches full of max level players and controls seem to lag frequently. buy it if you liked the previous titles.

As I'm not a big fan of online multiplayer and I have yet to get into Special Ops, this review mainly covers the single player campaign of Modern Warfare 2.

As the title implies, this game could aptly be described as an interactive movie, akin to Metal Gear Solid 4 with less cutscenes and more playing.

Throughout the game, the player will take on the role of a few different characters in various situations around the globe. Without spoiling certain missions, there are certain scripted events that may (if you're anything like me) cause you to lean forward in your seat, gasp quietly to yourself, or shout out "WHOA!" in a room full of people.

There is at least one mission in the game that may be considered highly controversial to some, and the game gives you the option to skip said mission(s) before the game starts, without ruining too much of the game. I ended up playing through them and while it does add to the game, you can get by without playing through it if you so choose.

All in all, I'd prefer the game developer Infinity Ward to develop a stand-alone game consisting of a full single player campaign as this game lasts only about five and a half hours give or take, as the majority of the focus seems to be placed on multiplayer action.

It's nice to see the adults purchased the Hardened Edition (Bad reviews on the Standard Edition for frivilous things). The adults did their homework, saw the badass blue steel case, the free COD One PSN code to DL the full game in HD and multiplayer which is considered one of the best PC games of all time, and the artbook. Also that they won't destroy the game reviews because their sister spilled a coke on the disk, or that they recieved it a day later and took it out on the review.

This game is brilliant! Graphics are improved, more maps, more mutiplayer game options, avatar options up the wazoo, constant bonuses for playing almost a distraction, but it's not. The only downside I can see so far is a few drops in online gameplay, some maps aren't available for different games not sure if that's just because I haven't played the game long enough, or that's how it's gonna be. E.g. in free for all like 5 maps available when there are 15 maps or so in this game.

Perfect score from me. Thanks Infinity Ward & Activision.

Modern Warfare 2 was bought for Christmas with higher expectations based on previous COD games. My nephew and son whizzed through the campaign in no time. It did not take me anytime to beat the game either and I am not as good as my son. The graphics are the best. Too bad the game-play rushes you through one screen to the next barely giving you anytime to appreciate the design graphics of the game. Cool weapons, though again, the game-play rushes you through to the point where you are not given a chance to try out all the cool guns, or get use to their features. The story line is short and weak. COD World at War is twice the game as MW2. Of course, the game ends unexpectedly leaving another short story for the sequel. I guess this is a good marketing strategy: Make really cool games short-played with a sequel, more sequels = more MONEY! (They know you're going to by the newest sequel to find out what happens next). Just my penny's worth!

Okay I am going to be as clear as I can be, this is probably the greatest first person shooter I have ever played.

Unlike most people I am going to say the bad stuff first.

The campaign is a little short in comparison to other games. So if you are a gamer who only plays the single player campaign and will never touch the online, I would rent before you buy. But I can promise you that you will enjoy the single player game.

Now onto what will keep you busy for probably the rest of your life, the multiplayer, competitve and coop. This game takes everything good from the first game and pretty much doubles it in greatness. Everything is better. You can now have 3 perks on instead of one, my favorite is the bling, which allows you to have 2 attachments. The deathstreaks are a nice touch too because they help you if you are having a bad game. So you will enjoy this mode.

Now onto the coop. This is not the full story coop, instead it is just a bunch of missions that you must complete. And they are fun none the less. They vary from killing a number of enemies, snowmobile racing, or covering your friend with a gunship.

Okay this part will be about the extras for buying the hardened edition. This is worth it because not only do you get the game but also the original call of duty.

So go out there and buy this game, unless you like missing out on a very good game.

I loved this game. If you're like me and really enjoy the Campaign modes, then this one won't let you down. I'm not as into the online play but evidently that's what makes this game such a success for everyone else. Definitely worth your time and money!
