good fun - good variation in questions and games - is that an Aussie accent I detect for Buzz?

I purchased this game for my daughter for her 14th birthday. She and her friends played this at her party and had so much fun! It's the perfect party game for a group of similar aged kids. They loved choosing their player's characters, names, and attire, as well as watching all the antics they performed during the game. Since the answers are multiple choice; even when they didn't know the answer they were able to guess. The game can also be played by a family, but my kids think I have an unfair advantage...after all I've experienced a lot more trivia than them;) They are able to choose more current categories and stump me. Overall, a nice change from the traditional violence and sports type games offered on many gaming systems.

Great for your friends. I definitely recommend you guys buy this game because it really is fun. You might not like a quizzing game but the way they present it is so amazing and it gets really exciting when the competition becomes intense. DEFINITELY recommend. It is a Playstation exclusive that you should not overlook

We've been having our Friday get togethers for many year now and when the first Buzz game came out for the PS3, it added a lot of fun to our Fridays, but the thing that lacked was only 4 person support, now with Buzz Quiz World, if you have the previous version, you can play up to 8 people at once, which lets everyone get in on the fun.

Like another reviewer said, this game is improved in every way, there's now MANY different categories, we've played this for many hours already and are still getting lots categories coming up that we've never seen before which always makes it nice. There's a few different rounds, but I think my only complaint about the rounds would be that in 1-4 player mode, there's more round types and they're all random, but in 5-8 player mode, it's always the same rounds at the same time, which really isn't a problem, it'd just be nice if there were more 8 player rounds and it'd be mixed up a little for when your group plays 5-6 games in a row.

On characters, I love how the game now saved your character statistics and at the end of the game, it'll go through and show fastest finger, most questions answered correctly, most wins ever, etc.. Also when you start a new game, it'll use information from them in the character introductions like say "The reigning champion" or "This guy plays buzz more than me", ha ha. On the characters themselves, there's some nice additions to the cast, I just wish they would've added a few more or kept some of the old ones like the nerdy guy, afro guy, cave girl and rocker, which are no longer available. The new ones are fun though, like the old lady that drops her dentures or the guy in the lizard suit, ha ha.

Another nice improvement about the game to is that the lowest person in point total isn't always the person to pick the round, it does mix it up, like the person that drops the most in a round will pick, so you don't have to worry about the person that's always on the bottom picking every single category.

One thing I wish about the game was that there was more single player games, currently on this one, it's just you answering straight questions to get a score, which it does save and others can try to top it, it would've been nice if you could play against a couple of computer players. I guess though, that's what Playstation Network is for, you can always find someone on there to play against.

Overall, this game is great fun ! If you bought the first Buzz game on the PS3, you NEED to get this one, you'll love it. If you never tried Buzz before, this is your time to pick it up and dive into the fun.

If you are sick of watching your kids shoot people and want a game everyone can enjoy, then this is for you!

This is one fun game! The wireless buzzers are great. The format of the games are lots of fun and the characters are very custimizable. Buzz calls you by name. There are almost 5,000 questions on the disc so you will probably go for quite a while without repeats. Players can also add questions, so the possibilities are andless. Also, there are more sets of questions on the Playstation Network you can purchase.

Buzz even has online "sofa vs. sofa" so you can play against people online. Up to 8 people can play!!! Overall this game is WELL worth the money! Very fun!

This is my first BUZZ game. My family has played it a half dozen times in the last few days and we look forward to playing it allot more! It moves so much faster then 'other' similar games.. probably due to the individual buzzers. We own a couple of DVD games for the television.. the game play for those can drag on a bit now that we've played BUZZ. This plays like a real game show without the commercials. I like how it tracks your progress in every game and even makes mention to it during game play. We haven't played online yet...

I recommend this for any family looking to spend some time together indoors. FUN!

Buzz! Quiz TV was my introduction to Buzz Quiz. I fully enjoyed that game and found it to be perfect for parties, family events or having fun when I feel like playing a game that uses my knowledge against opponents rather than my virtual bullets. This year, Buzz! Quiz World has come along and instantly taken the place of Quiz TV.

Buzz! Quiz World

9/10

The Good:

+ Buzz! Buzzers are simple to use for everyone, with 4 colored buttons and a big red buzzer.

+ Slick new presentation with improved visuals all around.

+ Player Profiles allows individual stat keeping.

+ Much improved online gameplay over Quiz TV.

+ Works with all the Quiz TV Quiz packs I had bought.

+ The categories are improved and many new game types.

+ Customizeable game types allows you to pick your rounds.

+ Buzz is less repetitive in his remarks, yet every bit as cheeky.

+ Buzzers come paired to the receiver out of the box, requiring no set-up.

The Bad:

- Characters from Quiz Tv seem to be absent.

- Still no custom character editor.

Buzz! Quiz world does what few games can do - Please all ages and types of gamers and non gamers at once. I have played an 8-player game with children, teens, twenty-somethings like myself and older adults. Buzz! managed to pull everyone in so we were all crying foul as the current winner answered correctly. It is so perfect for anyone that likes socializing.

With Quiz world, many of my complaints with the Quiz TV have been addressed. For starters, you can now customize what rounds you play. Don't like the pie round? Now you can turn it off, to make a custom game suitable to the group playing. Many people I play with complain about the Final Countdown round (which now plays the titular song by Europe) and you can cut that out too. Quiz World also features several new rounds such as boling point, which gives the points to the first player to answer six correct questions.

Buzz now personally addresses player too, by asking you to pick from a list of names. It goes along way and makes it feel more like you really are in the game and Buzz is more than just a virtual muppet. Also, this allows tracking of individual profiles, and Buzz remembers your tendencies. For example Buzz said to Kevin, one player who is frequently winning but had fallen into 4th, "Kevin, good to see you back at the top where you belong" after he had regained the lead in one round.

It's many of these small little details that really adds to the longevity and overall fun a game offers. At the end of every game, Accolades are given. It reports who was the fastest buzzer, who had the most right answers (which doesn't always equate to a win), who had the least and who got to pick the most categories just to name a few.

For those like me who had a Quiz Tv bundle, it makes sense to buy the Quiz World bundle to finally have 8 buzzers. Sony doesn't seem to sell buzzer pack seperately in the US, so it is required to buy another bundle to have 5-8 players. Quiz World now allows full games for 8 player too, whereas Quiz TV only had 3 round 8 player games. This may not sound important, but it really does make the game more interesting to have it more than 3 roudn if you 'd like.

Another area where Quiz World shine is the online mode. You can now play with 1-4 people on the same PS3! In Quiz TV 4 people could play, but would all control the same character. Quiz World gives everyone control over their own character and allows up to 8 players to play online on multiple PS3s, or 2 if you have 4 players on each one. Of course, it still features My Buzz quizzes so you can create and share your own custom trivia packs.

The only thing I woudl like to see Buzz add is more characters to choose from, or even better the ability to use PSN Home avatars or create your own character to use. there needs to be more characters. In the instance that you have 5 females players or more, some will have to choose a male character. It's a minor gripe, but something they could have easily remedied.

Overall, Quiz World is much improved and a worthwhile purchase for Quiz TV owners and those new to Buzz that you will most certainly be happy with. Just remember to pick up 8 AA batteries. NOw go get your Buzz! on.

I've had this game for a few weeks now. It is a great and fun trivia game. It seems to get better with the more people you have. The single player game is merely adequate. If you are looking to play this game as just a single player game, then I would probably pass. But the game truly excels once you get multiple players. We had a group of 7 players last night and everyone loved it. The best part is that the game is self-explanatory (as are the use of the simple-to-use buzzers) so there is no learning curve. First-time players can pick it up immediately. The announcer, Buzz, even added to the fun by cracking some jokes at the expense of players and will call out individual players by their real names. The announcer also makes good use of tracking the stats of each player and using that information in his comments.

The questions are good and provide a good diversity of easy to hard questions. The use of videos and pictures in many of the questions adds tremendously to the game and breaks-up some of the monotony of a standard trivia game. The different rounds also helps keep the game fresh. It's a much better trivia game then the type you have in bars and restaurants. The question packs that can be separately purchased also helps in adding to the longevity of the game with the downside being the packs are a little on the expensive side.

My only complaint is that for games involving 5-8 players, the types of available rounds are more limited. It would have been nice to have some more types of rounds or even rounds that can be exclusively used for 5-8 players. Admittedly, a minor quibble, but hopefully will be addressed in the next version of the game.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this game to anyone looking for a fun and easy party game.

This is another game I am able to play with my wife (the other being LittleBigPlanet). Just that goes a long way. The game seems similar to the "You Don't Know Jack" series from back in the day. Beautiful graphics, great host, the buzzers go a long way as to making you feel like your part of the game. The best parts though, in my opinion, are the seemingly endless replay value, with over 5,000 questions to start off with and the use of [...] to create, hunt, and gather for more, and the revision of the online mode, which lets everyone that has a buzzer in hand, act as an individual on line, regardless of how many people are on one PS3. Thumbs up!

I bought this game for my family game night, and it's a winner! It's a little expensive but very enjoyable for the whole family. I would say ages 12+ should be fine but there are categories that involve things in the 80's and older and my parents whoop my butt on those but then there is also modern stuff, for example things featuring lady gaga. So this game is up to date no doubt, and for it to include oldies stuff it's a very fair game for everyone. I havent played the game a ton, I would say less than 10 hours but I havent seen a single repeat questoin yet. I believe it's up to 8 players and you can even do single player trivia if you're alone. Over all I would say this is a great family or friend get together game.

This game offers tons of fun for the entire family. My family has been having a great time with this game. I think anyone from young teens and tweens through any adult with no fear of buzzers should be able to really enjoy this game. It is easy to use and the cordless, hand held buzzers make for a very quick moving, seamless game. The categories are varied enough so that no person can really dominate the game (although adults will have an edge over younger teens). I especially appreciate the choice of long or short games--you can control how much time you spend playing. Have fun with this game; it is a lot of fun!

Everyone in my family 2-30 (although the 2 year old just likes to push buttons...) really enjoys this game. Plus you get a few free PlayStation "HOME" items. Quizzes are challenging and cover a range of topics. The announcer actually says your name, or a name you pick as a substitute. You can play online vs other families if you have internet hooked up which is super fun. Don't forget to get a big pack of AA batteries for the buzzers though!!!

To start off with, I love trivia. This game really does make you feel like you're on a game show and there were times when I caught myself shouting at the TV with the answer rather than pressing the correct button. The questions are a good mix between stuff that is pretty common knowledge to the truly arcane. I play many other kinds of games and wouldn't think that I'd like this one but definitely a good purchase. Even playing online by yourself with other people is fun. No regrets here!

MUCH IMPROVED OVER THE BUZZ TV QUIZ GAME. THE ONLY SAD PART IS THE LOSS OF TWO FAVORITE CHARACTERS. UMBAH THE CAVE GIRL, AND THE VAMPIRESS. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL COME BACK IN FUTURE DOWNLOADS.
