I got this game yesterday and so far I'm very impressed.

This is by far the best world cup EA has created in their FIFA World Cup series. The atmosphere, graphics, and user interface are much improved over last world cup.

First, the positives:

The game play is pretty realistic. The defense is much harder to break down than in previous versions, which seems to keep the scoreline in check.

The online mode is awesome. You can actually pick a team and challenge other teams in world cup.

As far as the graphics go, I believe they're pretty strong. Stadiums, game action, and atmosphere, everything looks good. The crowds make you feel you are actually in the stadium.

Having 199 teams is a huge plus. You can even pick Afghanistan. LOL

Having two Button game play is a great addition for new comers in game.

Penalty kicks have improved and they are alot harder to score.

Btw the Goal looks bigger.

The negatives:

You still can`t play against friends in 2 vs 2 match up.

There are no clubs in it, but that doesn't bother me since I have Fifa 09 and Fifa 10.

Overall. it's a great game. If you want more features and clubs go buy Fifa 10, but if you want better graphics more International teams get this. This

game comes out every 4 years so I didn't mind paying for it and enjoy having my hometown team in there. So if you are hardcore fan of soccer or your

country didn`t make it to world cup buy this. You won't regret.

Take care and I'll see you online! :)

This is by far the best FIFA Game so far.

One of the best improvements over previous FIFA games are in my opinion the defense AIs. They now can actually stop shots and passes when they are close enough to the dribbler. The goal keeper AI is also greatly improved. He can actually come out to get the back pass where in previous games he just stands there and makes the entire back passing almost impossible to achieve.

The other great improvement is that now we have REAL Dutch players! Unlike previous FIFA series, we had made up Dutch players. You now will get your favorite Dutch players with their new uniform (a different type of orange, i liked the old orange color myself but it's just me)

Passing is still about the same compared to FIFA 09 and 08 and diagonal through ball is still one of the most lethal passes.

Crowd noises are much better than the previous games but the horns are kinda annoying but i guess EA wants to keep the South African theme going i guess.

Overall this is an excellent soccer game.

Didn't have much experience with football before but I love this game, the pace is very fast but thats what makes it fun. Theres a one glitch that occurs with player customization in captain your country mode, sometimes your players hair color changes during replays, but other than that all around the captain your country mode is very fun since you learn how to play the position you choose and your npc teammates are very smart but you still have some control over them since you can make them pass the ball to you or also pass the ball to them and choose when they shoot.

This is the most realistic FIFA ever created by EA. Graphics is really good. The online game mode is far batter than FIFA 10. In earlier versions, most of the penalty kicks were based on pure luck.. But in this, you have to practice Penalty Kick like that of Free Kick if you want to score..

This is an awesome game for any soccer fan. An absolute must buy. Great graphics. A great game overall. 10 out of 10 Rating.

2010 FIFA World Cup: South Africa is by far the best rendition of not just the World Cup series, but the FIFA series. This game retains everything that was so highly-praised in FIFA 2010, and adds more:

- better visuals (slightly)

- very strong thematic/atmospheric elements (snapshots of the crowd, anthems, random facts about countries while loading, background, colours, music)

- greatly improved AI (most importantly: the goalkeeper no longer rushes out instantly in a one-on-one, like in FIFA 2010)

The only reason I would cite for perhaps not buying this is that as a World Cup game, there are obviously no clubs, and the experience is very much limited to the World Cup. The shelf life may not be that long if you're not going to touch it much after the real World Cup's over. Otherwise, this is a definite must-buy.

This game is simply awesome! It is basically the same game play experience from FIFA 10 but with the added captivating atmosphere of the world cup. You can actually feel the thrills and the emotions of playing in South Africa. The new cut scenes which show the crowd and fan fare adds even more realism to the experience. The gameplay itself is very similar to that of FIFA 10, which makes its excellent. I think this game is a must have for all soccer gaming fanatics.

If you like soccer and if you like FIFA, go buy this game with your eyes closed (note that I have FIFA 10). The game is similar to FIFA 10, but he gameplay has many improvements, the ball fells more real, the keepers play better and the penalties are harder and need to be practiced.

But where this game really shines is in the online mode, you can play the FIFA World Cup online, with the group phase, quarter finals and everything, the game always sets you up with someone who is in the same part of the tournament as you, so if you are in the final, your online opponent will also be in the final, this sets up interesting matches and will give you exciting matches, because if you lose one game after the group phase you have to start again. Because of this, every game matters and will not be just an online head to head match, and winning the cup is very satisfactory.

Im hooked to this game!

I've been playing FIFA 2010 WCSA since the day it was released, and I'm having a blast with it so far. Personally, I think it's the best FIFA game that EA has ever created. You can choose from almost any country, there are all kinds of cool / new stadiums, and the gameplay is excellent. I highly recommend 2010 WCSA for all FIFA gamers...

I have to admit, I was really thinking of not buying this game. Yes, the initial price of $59.99 was way to much. I bought my copy for $40.00 with a gift certificate/discount. I am really glad I really bought this. This game is a lot of fun. If you are a soccer fan and enjoyed the FIFA series at all, take my advice and do yourself a favor, buy it! If you want to play with club teams like Man U, Inter, etc. don't buy it, stick with FIFA. But, if you enjoy the world cup and tournament games with NATIONAL teams, this game is a must. The gameplay is better than FIFA 10. Defenses are much harder to break down than FIFA 10. Passing and movement is much more realistic! Opposition AI is more intelligent and reacts more quickly adding to realism. Games are more fun because they fell more authentic. The stadium sounds are even more realistic. You feel like you are at a real match! Even the stadium graphics are more realistic. EA has really put a lot of detail into this game to make it a more realistic experience. If this game is a preview of what to expect from FIFA 11, then FIFA 11 is going to be the best football simulation yet to date.

I was contemplating picking this or Fifa 10 but I chose the World Cup edition because of the penalty kick system and better AI. The goalies react a lot better and over the goalie chip shots have been reduced. The online modes are great and lag is not a problem. Online matches are intense and the spirit of the World Cup is demonstrated gloriously. Rosters are constantly updated so I was able to play with Javier Hernandez on the Mexico squad. Get this game so our online community keeps growing.

This is the best soccer game ever made, in my opinion. At the cerebral level, you really can get into this game and feel like you're experiencing the World Cup.

I think the easy mode, where you can play with two buttons, is great for getting a less interested friend to play along without really learning the game. You can adjust tactics to quite a degree and think your way to an advantage with an inferior statistical team. This is a game that rewards thinking ahead and endurance, just like the real sport. The features are already listed, so I'll spare you me listing them. They are quite generous with the features.

But what I like most is the atmosphere. It feels like you're in a soccer game, much more so than other soccer games.

So, you own a PS3 (or 360). You like soccer or you wouldn't be looking at this review. So I'm telling you that you will get your money's worth and be happy you bought this game.

I love the world cup games; I still play the 06 version on my PS2 from time to time. I had the release date for this one circled on my calendar for months. All I can say is I was not disappointed. This is a great game and I highly recommend it. I agree with a couple of the other reviews that it could have been cheaper, however I am sure I will get years of play out it, at least until the 2014 version is released.

This game is amazing from gameplay to online battles... I love national teams (199) and the experience to lead your country to the world cup is priceless. Some people compare this game to FIFA 10, however if you like to represent national team like me, this is the game for you. I play this game every day and enjoy every minute of it.
