This game is the best baseball game u can buy today. It has all the teams, all the stadiums and more. Graphically it doesn't quite match up with EA Sport's Triple Play, but it does offer many other features that EA doesn't provide. A couple features from the gameplay.
- The part i liked most about being at bat, is the way it keeps track of your previous at bats. It tells you where you hit the ball on the field, what kind of pitch you hit and where the pitch was located in the strike zone.
- The batting is a bit difficult but if you use the batting practice mode, you'll get better in no time.
-The feilding in this game is great. The advance bas throw is amazing. If you are used to playing Triple Play it might take a bit of getting used to it, but sone you'll be turning Double Plays with ease.

Here are a couple from the franchise mode:
- Expansion: Let's u choose from many big citys/towns/states from across the US, including: Sacremento, Jacksonville, Virginia, DC, and even Alaska.
- Farm Team: I have waited years for a good game to have a farm team. No more players living forever. Now when your all-star players retire, you have a brand new crop of players to replace them. This is one of the most difficult parts of the game. You must use your best judgement in when to bring up your young players and when sending them back down to the minors would be better than them sticking it out in the bigs.
- History: This game is great at keeping you up-to-date on the past. It keeps track of all-time records both career and season records. It also keeps track of how many Gold Gloves players, ROYs, and MVPs your team has produced over your 20 year season.
- Signing players: Just like if you have ever played Madden 2002 you must resign your players. You can even decide to go out on the market and steal someone else's star player.
- Problems: One thing in the franchise mode is the schedule. You play the same schedule for 20 consecutive seasons. That just makes it a bit boring when u look at match ups.

Overall= Best Baseball game for the PS2 on the market

Yep, if you are willing to take the time to learn what the game can really do this is one heck of a baseball simulation and tremendously fun at the same time. There are some really essential options in this game that let you customize it to whatever realism and whatever difficulty you want. for example, you can turn off the pitching Icon and the vibration so that you have to pitch on "Feel". It makes the game a very realistic pitching simulator and as a pitcher tires it affects the pitchers control. Also, you can pick which fielders you want to control and which you want the cpu to control.

The hitting is too good to be true. Very difficult and on the All-Star level it takes some serious practice and skill but that's what makes it so rewarding when you get a hit.

The statistics come out very realistic when you play Franchise and Expansion mode which is the meat of the game.

The most important thing though is what are you looking for. This game is for the more mature and skilled gamers. Children and fans of the more Arcadish games will hate this.

Seriously though, take some time to play with the options and tweak the game to the way you want it to play. Also, this may sound strange but "READ THE MANUAL".

PLAYBALL!

ASB 2003 is the best baseball game ever made. The graphics are much better than last year, and now there is an expansion mode and 3 man commentary. Plus all updated rosters, and Home Run Derby. This is a must buy for any baseball fan. It blows away High Heat 2003!

All Star Baseball 2003 is the best baseball game I have ever played. The Expansion and Franchise modes are great, new players from the minors come up as the years progress, and players retire. The greatest thing is that its the only baseball game that lets you continue on to the next season. Teams move out of thier stadiums and into new ones. The graphics are unbelievable, and the players are easily recognizable by thier faces. This is not one like the Triple Play series, where every game is decided by a score of 20-19, and in this game scores are frequently 3-2. There are recreations of classic stadiums such as Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, The Polo Grounds in New York, Tiger Stadium in Detroit, and Classic Yankee Stadium. There is a great new section that deals with player cards, and some can increase the amount of cheats, stadiums, and players to choose from. The Create a Player has many different options including, high socks, glove colors, and bats. Overall, This is an awesome game.

This game is very realistic. It has broken bats, and evrything you will ever need from a baseball video game. If you can't play on defense very well, they have assists you can use so stop crying over things like that. Hitting is challenging if you use the triangle thing, but again if you can't handle it there is easy hitting. The more I play it the more I notice the detail and closness this game comes to the real thing. If you don't like this game I suggest to you that you stay away from sports games because your dumb. In other words, this game's stats, as far as sports games go, is up with madden football 2002. So what are you doing? Go get it. (Giants are awsome)

Being a Triple Play fan for many many seasons I was surprised at how much I enjoyed All-Star Baseball 2003. The game does not leave anything out. Triple Play is much easier to play, hitting, fielding and pitching on Triple Play presents no real challenge. All-Star there is an element of difficulty present here adding to the realism that Acclaim is trying to portray.

The expansion mode gives gamers a challenge to take a rag-tag bunch of guys and turn them into winners. A novel idea in the sport arena of games. Franshise mode containing 20 seasons, would make this the last baseball game that you would ever need to buy. I am pleased to see that injuries are included, 15 day and 60 day disabled lists. A farm team for you to choose to bring up rookies and let them have their shot in the show.

Stunning real life game play. The replays really give you a perspective of being there, participating in the game. Life like graphics even include breath coming from players mouths in colder temperatures. Old school uniforms allow you to play in those horrible Astros uniforms of the day.

For those that do not like game play. There is a myriad of other options. You can take batting practice in a bevy of ballparks and at a variety of pitches and locations. The homerun derby gives you a tour to the past as you can try to be the forth to hit a homerun into centerfield at the Polo Grounds. And then for those that can't stand playing video games, but like trivia. Strap on your cleats and play a variety of baseball trivia games.

This game has it all and will more than likely not get boring. I do have a complaint that I have seen mentioned here and that is the stamina of the starting pitcher. They get tired after four innings, that I do not understand. I thought it was just my team of no-names, but your Cy-Young winning pitchers fall victim to the same. Stealing bases is rather difficult as well, but taking a look at the game today, base stealing is a lost art, maybe the developers did not put that much work into the art of stealing.

Triple Play you have a long way to go to catch up to the fluidity of this game. Gamers, you will not be dissapointed.

Hey, If you are a first time at sport games and you dont know wat to choose, i recomend strongly, All Star Baseball 2003. The graphics are unbelieveable, believe me, I've played other baseball games for Nintendo 64 and this one blows all the other ones out of the water. If you can only play one sports game out of the year, I strongly recomend All-Star Baseball 2003!

played in my life. The graphics are outstanding and what minor glitches there are in the game are completely overwhelmed by the positives that the game offers. All I can say about the franchise mode is WOW!!!

This game is extremely realistic. The control is unbelievable. However, the guys are right. It is hard to hit the ball...at all. Now, don't get me wrong. This game is VERY realistic. The computers pitcher can throw curves and sinkers and sliders. It is hard to judge but it just takes some getting used to. I bought the game and I love it. My sister wanted me to buy a baseball game so I went to my local Wal-Mart. I asked which game they sell more of. The lady said Triple Play. But I like to be different so I got All Star 2003 and immediately fell in love with it. I'd say if you want "arcade" gameplay, go with Triple Play. If you want TOTAL realism, go with All Star Baseball.

So far this is the most fun, most attractive game ever made. I purchased this game not too long ago and I have been playing it non stop, right now im at the all-star break and i have collected many baseball cards which is a side feature in the game. I also love the trivia, itsgreat for when you and your friends have disputes over who knows the most about baseball. This game flat out rocks, and its better for PS2 over the Gamecube because you only need one memory card to save it on the PS2, while Gamecube u need a special extra memory card made by a third party publisher, which usually break down after a week of use, or you need 2 cards ... SO GO GET IT FOR THE PS2 RIGHT NOW IF YOU NEEDA GREAT BASEBALL GAME!

It is about time that one game had everything baseball fans need. ASB 2003 perfectly combines game play and statistics to make it the new standard. I have recently purchased the game, but after about 15 games I have found the scoring to be realistic, the game time manageable, and the difficulty level challenging. Their are tricky aspect to fielding and hitting which I'm sure in time will become easier. One thing I wish is that there was a way to save a game in progress. The trivia game is a nice little add on. The graphics look great, and I LOVE the franchise option. I look forward to many hours of game play. If you like baseball get this game!

I love this game. It is the most realistic game for PS2 that is a sports game. The gameplay is awesome, The Hitting is Hard at first but then it gets easier and easier and easier just like the other AllStar Baseball games were. This one makes it better b/c the computer can come back unlike other games were it's 200 to 2 in the 5th inning. The Franchise is The best ever, you can play up 2 20 seasons and sign your free agents and stuff and your created player is 20 yrs old when you start and always gets better. They make a few glitches like catches that shouldn't be but have you ever seen a perfect game were there no mistakes. I have never seen one of those. This game is the best Baseball game for PS2 i suggest you should buy the game!
