I'm a 30 year old retired quake fan who has 3 daughters.

2 month ago I did some research for a good PC game for

my children. It should focus on wild life animals and

should reward taking care of them and have minigames.

Well there was no game. Only dated and old graphics games...

But some info about a game called World of Zoo.

But that wasn't released yet.

I couldn't believe that there was no game like this for the PC...

Today I saw that the game was finally released and

even for a super fair price ( 30 here ).

I bought it in a heart beat !

The game features all things on my whishlist and more.

My kids are crazy about it !

You could probably lift them up by the PC mouse ;-)

Personally I'm an animation nut and strongly believe in

animation over textures or model details.

( Take a look at Warcraft 3 for a good example )

This game has some of the best animal animation I have ever seen

in a game, its a pleasure for the eyes.

The love for details, animation, art

and intuitive usage shines in all areas !!

One of my daughters is 5 and can't read yet, but she

can play the game just like the older girls.

Well done team, you made me and my children very happy.

5 / 5 stars.

PS: No, I'm not related to BigFangGames :-)

Yes, the game is just that good !

Alright, before I go into this, I will say that I am not exactly the target age for this game. Disregard my criticism of the game's simplicity if you are looking to buy this game for a child, in which case, this game is quite suitable.

In a nutshell, World of Zoo is a game which lets you play zookeeper to different animals like Pandas and Giraffes. You can create your own animal if you wish, altering the animal's color, shape, size, name, and traits, or you can just choose a preset animal. After you've done this, you go into the animal's exhibit and find a way to make your animal happy to earn hearts. Unlike most animal sims, this one doesn't have anything like a hunger or cleanliness meter for each animal. If you see your animal get dirty, you can wash it with a hose by dragging it across its body. Needs can also be indicated by "thought bubbles" which pop up over your animal's head with an item that the animal wants, such as a toy or a snack.

You can build your animal playsets and decorate them as you wish. You can also hunt for treasure and play challenges, such as washing your pet as fast as you can or healing all your pet's illnesses within a time limit.

I have to say, the graphics are a great part of the game. Not because they're technically proficient, but because they have a great style to them.

The biggest incentive to the game is the trophies, which are a fun addition, but overall the game just doesn't have much content or too much incentive. I know that I am not the target age for this game, but there are plenty of animal sims that are suitable for both adults and children alike. This one is mostly for the kids.
