I completely enjoyed this game, the story line and puzzles are excellent. This game is well worth your money and time.
I really enjoyed playing this game. It was so much fun trying to find certain objects under a certain amount of time. I loved the creepy atmosphere, the spooky sound effects and locating more of Emma's diary entries. The plot was very interesting. Overall, this game had a dark and chilling air about it, at times reading the entries and putting the puzzle pieces together in the crime computer made my skin crawl. Another fun thing I found was that this game could have you looking for several different objects but of the same name. Such as an egg. You could be looking for a fried egg, a jeweled egg or just a normal, white shelled egg. Also, a bat could mean the creature that hangs around in caves or a baseball bat. Some objects can be inside one another and others may be hidden practically off screen, meaning they are placed right at the edge of the room. So you have to keep an open mind in playing this game. There are one or two door puzzles that are easy to figure out and are pretty much self explanatory, but others are not. There is a hint option but be careful you don't use all your hints on the doors or in the rooms. You can also skip the door puzzles but if you do, you lose every single hint you have left. You won't get any more until you find another diary entry.
The last door puzzle is fairly easy but the most time consuming out of all the doors.
An interesting thing at the end is a short list of popular names. I found it cool they had Mulder and Scully on there.
This is a good light weight game. Very entertaining, and you don't have to have the disk in to play it.
I have purchased, and played, many of the games in this genre and this is by far the best. The game is challenging, with interesting puzzles and great graphics.
There is a story line that is appealing and while the hunt and find sections are great the puzzles inserted between really add to the game.
A great game!
My title says it all!!! This is the first hidden object game that I bought and I can't get enough of it. In the first week that I had the game I completed it 5 times. Everytime you start a new game the hidden objects that you have to find are different. I am in the process of yet another round and I am having to find things that I never had to find in the first five rounds....love it!! I like that when they ask you to find, for example, a "bat", you don't know whether it is a baseball bat or a bat (animal)...things like that. I highly recommend this game. I am so happy with this game that I have just purchased "Return to Ravenhurst".
My daughter-aged 8-and I played this game together. It is one of the best puzzle games that we have ever played. There is so much to this game-and the storyline is very good. I would recommend it everyone! The "extras" were alot of fun to complete, in addition to finding all of the clues!
I just finished this game, and had a great time with it. It was very entertaining. I love hidden object games, and will look forward to the next one.
My nine year old daughter and I had a great time playing this game, particularly the Rube Goldberg style door lock puzzles, a feature I haven't found in any other hidden picture game. The storyline does actually become a bit intense for children, not nightmare intense, but not something you would want them seeing shortly before bedtime. As a lifelong fan of spooky old house mystery stories I have to say this game really lived up to its promise.
I love, love, LOVE this game. I've played a lot of the hidden object games and this one is my favorite. There's a background storyline that I found very interesting. Sometimes, I'd play another round just to see what was going to happen in the story.
The hidden oblject part of this game is good. But the best part is that here and there, you can't get into a room to search until you have figured out a Rube Goldberg type puzzle for the lock. Those were so much fun, and each was different. Not too hard, but still stumped me for a while. Great brain action breaks in between the standard hidden objects.
If anything could be described as "endlessly entertaining", Ravenhearst is it. My husband and I have played this game dozens of times and will play it dozens of more times. It changes each time we play it, so it's never boring. Also, it's bound to be good for us - searching for (partially) hidden items is supposed to help the aging brain.
I certainly enjoy the hunt and seek games, and for me, this is one of the better one's. Highly recommend!!!
Ravenhearst is almost as much fun as The Unsolved Cases of Sherlock Holmes. There is a mystery to solve, hidden objects to find, and I especially liked the locked door puzzles. The hidden objects were actually a bit more difficult to find than in the UCSH game, which made it harder to "speed" through the rooms, but all in all I can nothing negative about it. It's a fun family game.
Lots of fun, has an interesting plot, and has lots of levels for a long playtime.
I have played many different hidden object games via PC and Nintendo DS and this one is by far my favorite. The graphics are amazing and every detail of the game gets you hooked and keeps you there until the end. The puzzles are very interesting and yet some are quite tricky. If you enjoy a brain teaser than look no further and play this one!!! I can't wait until I get Return to Ravenhurst!!!
