Very happy with it for the price. Makes the flying experience much more real and useful.
We bought the Yoke and Pedals and my son looks like he could take off from our house. He's a diehard fan of Microsoft Flight Simulator and hopes to be a pilot in the near future. These items are total plug-and-play. We've had no problems with them whatsoever. He's a very picky kid and hates when things go wrong on his computer so this was a welcome addition!
I like this product....All I had to do was to connect the USB cable and fire up Flight Sim X and it recongnised and Vista istalled the necessary drivers.
Nevertheless I have a complaint. The product is not packaged well. Amazon put the package inside their own box along with the Extreme 3D PRO I ordered without any stuffing to prevent damage. Although the products were not damaged, their respective boxes were and the CD that came with the CH pro pedals was bent beyond repair. Although I didn't have to use the CD so far (Vista installed all the drivers for me) the CD itself is unusable.
The flight pedals do an outstanding job simulating the feel of an aircraft! I have not tried them with a driving simulator, but they are supposed to perform in that capacity also. They are very stable and the build quality is excellent.
I have been using the CH Pro Pedals for nearly a year without any problems at all. I also use the CH Pro Throttle and CH Fighterstick for my HOTAS set up and they all work great together. I fly IL2 Sturmovik 1946 and my CH set up works great for this game. I appreciate the quality of craftsmanship built into CH products and have heard many other virtual pilots complaining about their Chinese products falling apart or other tech issues where the CH users don't seem to have nearly as many issues with their products experiencing hardware break downs. The pedals are nice and smooth and stay firmly planted on my carpeted floor. I would strongly suggest any virtual pilot use CH products to avoid the hardware break down issues I am always hearing other pilots complaining about. They may not have pretty blue lights and fancy led screens but, they will far out last those Chinese pieces of junk and provide years of gaming enjoyment for you. See you in the not so friendly skies of IL2 1946 mate and if you see DD_Logos on your six you had better hope your hardware doesn't malfunction. Good flying.
I am an amatuer with this stuff, but believe me these pedals sure made me feel like a professional. Just plug them in, take off and fly. I am very happy with the quality of this product. I must also say how impressed I am with Amazon's service form the time of order and with-in a few days having the product arrive.
I also like to play with my NASCAR racing game and these pedals also work excellent with that. I always heard that CH Products were good and now I know why.
Bought this as a Christmas present for my 11 yr old son. After more than 3 months of almost daily use it still functions like the day he unwrapped it. Nothing negative to report about these pedals.
These pedals are great with windows xp. Just plug them in and your ready to go!!!!
The CH Pro Pedals add a lot of realism to the flight simulator experience. It took a few sessions to de-program myself from wanting to twist the throttle stick (my rudder control before getting the Pro Pedals). The pedals allow you to get that muscle memory and familiarity with the real world controls. When I first started using them, I intuitively wanted to push the right foot forward to go left, as if I was controlling a steering wheel with my feet or driving a tank. I'd hate to make a beginner mistake like that on a real plane! The pedals are of good quality, a little heavier than expected which helps them stay in place even on some carpets. I agree with some of the comments about the pedals being a little close together - I would like them farther apart. I also think the cord in the back should not stick directly out from the back, as it will be stressed if you have a tendency to push the pedal base against a wall. Overall recommended for anyone looking to enhance the realism of their flight simulator experience.
I bought these pedals from Amazon using the free super savings shipment but received the pedals in the mail the very next day. I bought them for my Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and they work great with it! Before buying these, I just used a joystick for the simulator until I spoke with a pilot who told me that he read in his aviator magazines that if you get rudders and a yoke, the simulator is can be very close to the real flying experience.
Well, I have only been behind the yoke and pedals of a small plane once so I can't compare it to that. But I do know that these pedals have greatly increased my satisfaction with FS2004 and gives me much better control of the planes. The pedals feel like they were built to last and work really well. I highly recommend them to increase your flight simulator experience. I also later bought the CH Products Yoke from Amazon and along with the pedals, I am a happy customer.
These pedals add much more than realism to Flight Simulator... they add control. When you're on final, and you're trying to stay established on the localizer with a cross wind, you need to be able to correct course without banking the wings, and the rudder pedals accomplish this flawlessly. Unlike a joystick with a twist axis, these rudders require a lot more motion to yaw the aircraft. You need this feature because twisting the sensitive joystick often over-corrects and then you're on the other side of the localizer. Any serious enthusiast MUST get these pedals!
While nothing can beat the feel of the real flight controls, CH Product's Pro Pedals adds a new challenge! It's pretty hard to bounce between the Sim Yoke and the keyboard when trying a cross wind landing, but with Pro Pedals you learn to coordinate your moves without poping a tire. Once you have the Yoke you are going to want the Pedals...
The CH Pedals are great. They are built well. They feel good. Maybe they move just a little too easy for realism. However you soon get used to them. I wish the CH yoke was built this good. (but hey, it works)
pedales muy bueno :) incluso tengo amigos que lo tienen mas de 3 aƱos y sin problema resistente al pasar del tiempo
I'd put up with taxiing around like a drunk using the keyboard for several years, but what convinced me I needed to step up to rudder pedals was when I tried to do the "Vin Fiz" historical flight on FS 2004. You have to fly from New York to Los Angeles in a Piper Cub. I like flying with the realism settings all set to maximum - with the exception of "Autorudder" - and I like to fly with real world weather. It was quickly apparent to me I'd never be able to land the Cub in any kind of crosswind without separate rudder controls. (Some of my cartwheels were quite beautiful.)
I'd gotten the CH yoke for Christmas a year ago, and I remember having to install software and fiddle with the setup a little, but I just plugged the rudder pedals in and they worked right off the bat. That was nice.
The extra degree of control I experience during flight is a revelation. I prefer to fly older planes, and I've felt much more in control as I've learned more about using the rudder. I can now also taxi without slamming into everything in sight. I had to get used to how sensitive the pedals are - just a little tap one way or the other is all you need to maneuver on the ground, either with the rudder or with the differential brakes. And, when landing, you do have to be aware of your foot position, to ensure you're not unintentionally braking with one foot or the other.
But I still can't land that %!@$ Cub in a crosswind! I've figured out how to get it down in a headwind; it's practically a vertical landing. I've practiced crabbing and kicking out the crab in a crosswind at the last minute a hundred times, but I've only managed not to flip twice. Grrr. (If you've had success landing the Cub under these conditions in FS, I'd appreciate any tips you can give me. Leave a comment to this review.)
My struggles with the Piper Cub notwithstanding, the CH pedals are great, and I highly recommend them.
