Being a fan of the very first Call of Duty, and I have various opinions (all 3-stars and above)of every Call of Duty made since then, I was in line on the first day to receive this game. Besides the fact that it has become a media icon of what current gamers are playing, which I do not think that is entirely correct, I love every aspect of this game and can honestly say, "It is worth every penny you spend on it."

If you are a fan of multiplayer games online, this is an excellent example of the capabilities currently available by video-game developers. Depending upon your video card and what type of moniter of screen you may be playing this game on, C.O.D.-M.F.2 has graphics that outclass the majority of other video games out there. Previous versions of this game had relatively shallow storyboards and had nowhere near the number of challenges, accomplishments and modes of play, as this version has.

From the main menu, you can choose either Special Ops (number of various challenges you can do single player or split screen or system link, each having 3 levels within each level). The single player can actually be played by split screen and system link as well and has a great number of challenges.

And, Multiplayer is out of this world! I play on the X-box Live Server and on the computer.

I do admit that the X-Box live version/server seems to have a lot more people, go faster and I am not sure why, but I like that better.

I know that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I happen to like multiplayer shooter games. so, if you are like me, I highly recommend this game!

This is a great game and a lot of fun to play. Graphics are fantastic.

I strongly recommend you get this game if you like to play single player campaign FPS.

The only thing I do not like about this game is the very short single player campaign. It is about a half of a regular single player FPS game length. It is nice though that they included a special ops part which makes it worth the money spent.

I do not play multiplayer so this is just a single player review.

The reason why this game has been getting a lot of 1 stars is because of the multiplayer.

I'm guessing the low average review score for this game is because of the pissed off MP community. Since I don't play MP much my review is for the single player aspect of the game. Everything from the graphics, gameplay, and story is purely top notch. Controls felt super smooth and refined. Some of the levels are so intense that sometimes it practically took my breath away. I played it at the normal difficulty which was a great balance between fun and challenge. The only negative for me was that it was a little short. I paid full price for the game and I feel like it was totally worth it. If your not into MP and play mostly SP campaigns than I would highly recommend this title to any FPS fan. It was action packed and kept you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Great job once again by Infinity Ward. What an amazing game.

Activision has screwed PC gamers with this one!!! I cannot believe they are trying to pull this!!!

The 360 version is amazing though. ;)

DO NOT BUY FOR PC, DO NOT BUY FOR CONSOLE.

Why do they hate PC gamers so much?

As if the fact that it is a lame console port that lacks all the features to take advantage of a PC (which is the reason we play PC games in the first place) they charge us MORE for it than the console versions?

Don't buy this game at all. If you go buy it for your console that just reinforces that the money is in consoles not PC, and they will neglect PC games even more.

I have found a number of forums that have petitioned others to go onto Amazon and rate this game with one star. Facts - The majority of these people haven't even purchased the game and they are only rating it that way out of protest. This is the vast majority of reviews right now for the PC version on Amazon. If this game was so bad then why are the other console versions so high in the ratings? Why has the vast majority of MAJOR critics given the game such high honors? I HAVE the game. This game is everything I wanted it to be and more. The fact that online play is limited to smaller teams I believe is a great thing. Opinion - I have no interest in playing with 64 people on a map that is so small that you die three times while spawning. Fact - Graphics are unbelievable. Opinion - For that reason alone I believe this game is worth every penny. Fact - People don't have jobs right now. Opinion - This is the true reason why there is such a protest against this game. I believe that IW has made this game harder to pirate, and that is why there is such an outcry. No Dedicated Server - I can see a point to this, but Clans will find a way. Find a real CRITIC and read the vast majority of reviews are 5/5 or 10/10 Fact - 5 STARS!!! Opinion - 5 STARS!!! I love this game and I know this because I OWN IT!

So far, I feel this is a spectacular game. I have played every COD game for PC and I have yet to be let down by one. I did feel that taking the price up to 60 was odd, but I am not regretting it.

Gameplay: Quite similar to the original Modern Warfare. New weapons, new vehicles to escort through streets, new areal bombardments. You can actually go into a house and wreck it if you want. The campaign still seems a little short, but the action is so intense I can't quit playing it. The Special Ops part is a nice addition to try to hone some of your skills. No qualms about the gameplay here.

Graphics: Some improvement over the last game. I felt the original was great on its own, and it carried over into this game with improvements.

AI: The AI almost seems to be smarter than the last game. In one of the city levels these guys would pop out, hit me, and the moment I turned around they'd be gone. Not quite sure if that's smart AI or me just not used to the level.

I'm still playing it, so, when I am done I will update this review some more.

This game has received so much trash for taking use of IWnet and not supporting dedicated servers. But truthfully, this experience is just as rewarding as CoD4 and CoD:WaW for me. Besides having mods (which I don't miss too much), I would definitely rate this as the best of the series so far. The campaign is just as short as the other two games, but much more epic in scale with Hollywood quality sequences. I highly enjoyed the campaign way more than the other two games. Although it lacks an arcade mode, there's plenty enough to do elsewhere. Spec Ops and Multiplayer are the core of this game.

Since this is the PC version, this game received a lot of 1 star ratings because of the hardcore PC gaming community that loves to play in Clan Servers and etc, but if you're not interested in doing so, you'll find plenty to enjoy here. For any casual gamer, this game is as good as it gets. The multiplayer lobby system is just like the console ones, so if the Xbox 360 version is so popular, how come the PC version is taking a beating for being just as good as the 360 one? Just like the 360 version, you'll occasionally stumble across a hacker (I've encountered one in over 40 hours of gameplay) and IWnet will occasionally decide to pick an extremely laggy host for the room, but the gameplay and many features make up for it. Want to play with friends? Easy. With the party system, just invite your buddies from steam and they'll join the room the party leader decides to join, and all in the same team, too!.

I bought this game for $33+3.99 s&h and it was well worth the price. It still has a hefty $60 retail price so I got lucky. But for what I payed, I'm lovin' it. This game will be taking up a lot more of my future hours for sure.

I have read the many negative reviews. I personally found the game very fun to play. This is the main criteria on which I base my review. The graphics and sound were excellent. I had no technical problems, and the game ran perfectly on my Dell XPS 710 2.66 ghz dual processor with 2 GB RAM and Nvidia Geforce 8600 GTS with 256 MB. We play using a Mitsubishi HD projector on a 100 inch screen and Logitech 5.1 surround sound. We use a CH MFP in place of the standard key board, and a pistol mouse. The game worked well with all of this hardware as long as the drivers for the controllers were loaded before starting Steam. There are many options for customizing the controls. I would have liked to see joysticks and other controllers supported. My family plays the solo version, so I cannot comment on multiplayer experience. The solo game provided my family with many hours of fun and really got us involved in the missions. The story line is the main weakness, but this is typical of FPS type games. The price is higher than I would like, but similar to comparable games. I would recommend this product, and purchase it again. Overall the game was really fun to play and loaded and ran perfectly without hassle.

WARNING: The following review is written by a total combat gaming snob who demands the best in online gameplay.

Hey, ripped-off Call Of Duty fans: Let's do a little comparison between "Joint Operations: Combined Arms" (specicially the "Combined Arms" version) and COD (any version), shall we?

What's the point of having a sniper rifle if the enemy is always so close to you that you can just throw a grenade (or a rock)? Such is the laughable world of COD and its sardine can maps. In Joint Ops, the maps have no borders - you can fly, ride, drive or run forever in any direction. You can hike up a mountain side and rain down some death with a sniper rifle from over 1,000 away like a real sniper actually can. That's 10 football fields end-to-end! But if COD is all you play, you have no clue what this is like. You probably think snipers shoot their targets from just across the street. In COD, that's all the CAN do.

How about the ability to have up to 200 players online in the same map in all out full-scale warfare? Oh, that's right - COD maxes out at 64. But then again, those sardine can maps only allow for that many. Get's a little crowded in there, doesn't it?

Tanks? APCs? Aircraft? Jeeps? Mounted guns (and even missiles) on all vehicles and aircraft? Dirt bikes? Yup - Joint Operations has them all, 100% pure user-controllable. COD? Nowhere to be found. Sorry, you're on foot, you brainless grunt. Snore.

And for all you vehicle haters and "knife and pistol only" screweballs - you can totalyl exclude any vehicles or weapons in Joint Ops if you want to. Total flexibility.

Weather: In Joint Ops, you can even control the weather and time of day. Want to fight at night in the rain with nightvision? No problem. Air quality and haze factor? Make it slightly hazy, totally foggy or crystal clear, and to any degree. It's all up to you.

Parachuting out of a helo? And while your buddies cover you by manning the two miniguns? Yup, JO's got that too. Joint Operations is all about combat realism. But this is nowhere to be found in COD.

Armored vehicles like tanks and APCS, all different types, too, and you get to choose, drive and fully man them - Joint Ops is where its at. Nowhere to be found in COD, other than immovable "eye candy" objects to hide behind while your enemies "prairie dog" you from the next mountainside over. Oh, wait, that would be Joint Ops. In COD, your enemies will be "prairie dogging" you from across the street because of the laughably claustrophobic maps.

Calling your own artillery strikes by operating, aiming and firing the artillery yourself - Joint Ops has it. Nowhere to be found in COD. Matter of fact, you can't even call in artillery until you make a certain rank. Sucks to be you.

Hand-carry guided missles like Stingers and Javelins to use against enemy aircract and armored vehicles? Only in Joint Ops. You have absolutely no idea how deeply satisfying these weapons are to use, I cannot stress this enough. This apsect of the game lone is indescribably thrilling. In COD, you only get a taste of this, and only in single-player mode. Imagine enjoying this in multi-player agaist all enemy vehicles. Stop drooling, you look like an idiot.

Sick of playing COD and only being able to experience cool things in single-player mode, only to discover that none of it exists in multi-player mode? Don't you feel ripped off? You should, especialyl since it's all the single-plyer stuff that Infinity Ward slaps on the package to sell it. Sick of playing "dumbed down" jousting matches of endless, boring "run and gun" because the developers have you locked into tiny little sardine can maps that don't allow for aircraft and vehicles? You should be. With games like Joint Operations and Battlefield 2 being out for years, there is no excuse for these pathetic limitations and missing elements of true combat and warfare.

Map size, huge issue: imagine jumping on a dirt bike and going off into the distance and going "Evel Knievel" by jumping over hills for a while? You can do that in Joint Ops. COD? Not even. In COD, you can't even walk in any direction for more than a minute before bumping into a very unrelaistic map limit barrier. Gee, that's realistic, isn't it? If Infinity Ward wanted to go for all out realism, they should make your voice echo like you're running around inside a gymnasium - because you are. Whatta joke. If you think this is how gaming is supposed to be in a multi-processor, SLI-graphics world, then you've been smoking breakfast.

Rank and Weapons: Every map starts out with everyone at the same ground level in rank. No "old guard" elitist jerks with superior abilities and weapons to spoil the game. Every weapon available in Joint Operations is available to you during gameplay. Change roles and weapons as you see fit and unleash absolute hell from the very beginning of every map. Oh, that's right, you play COD or BF2, and you can't do that because you have to make a certain rank before you're allowed to touch certain weapons, commands and features. You actually paid for that game? Drank the CoolAid, didn't you?

Though there are not nearly as many servers to jump on compared to COD, the gameplay alone is worth it. 1,000 servers of COD is still COD - it just ain't Joint Operations.

Come play Joint Operations Combined Arms (make sure it is the "Combined Arms" verrsion), the game that STILL makes all versions of COD and Battlefield look like a joke. The graphics aren't as good, but still worthy of praise and a small price to pay for utterly amazing - and unparellelled - gameplay and features. You will not find another game that will allow you to do what you can do in this game. Not by a LONGSHOT. Speaking of longshots, Joint Operations allows artillery, tank, sniper and all other weapons fire at ranges 1,000 yards plus, often actually disappearing back into the haze of the atmosphere. You actually NEED scopes and binoculars in Joint Ops. Imagine that!

Nova Logic got this one right, and in a HUGE way. Nobody else has touched it since, including Nova Logic.

Come see what you've been missing. If you're going to be addicted to a PC game, this is the one.

I noticed many of the other reviews on this game are based on the "multiplayer experience".

While I love to play online I love the SP mode more.

I already have a Steam account with many other games on it so I do not have any issue with that part of the setup.

In fact like always I prefer my games on Steam since I have one place to go and install the game or any purchased game whenever I feel like it.

GamePlay:

As expected the look and feel is just excellent with this game. The character roles the movement, everything is as expected from the COD series.

I feel the Modern Warfare series will always be my favorite. Don't get me wrong I love the WWII types but I was getting tired of blowing up Germans the whole time.

The weapons the scenery all are just great! No issues at all with any of it.

I do know some folks had bugs in the beginning but I never have had any of those issues show up.

No issues at all... minus the short Single player side of it...
