I have Windows XP and had no problem installing this game. Two of the games require patches that were easily downloaded by going to the Adventure Company website. The games are like the Nancy Drew games and are not Hidden Object games. I completed the "And Then There Were None" game which can have different endings depending on what you do in the game. A few times I was wondering what I was supposed to do next to get the chapter to end - it automatically ends when you finish what you need to do to get to the next chapter. It was challenging and I enjoyed playing it. The only problem that I have is my 12 year old daughter took over my game when I started playing "Murder on The Orient Express". We haven't starting playing "Evil Under the Sun" but I don't expect any problems. Overall I really like the games and if you enjoy games like Nancy Drew, you will also enjoy these.
I have Vista on my lap top and had no problems with installation. The games are great. I agree they remind me of Nancy Drew type of format. Enjoyed the graphics and the way the stories where presented. Very happy with purchase and it's quite a value to get three great games on one disc.
I have tried to install this game on 5 different top of the line Dell computers, all updated with all the latest updates and drivers. Will not install. A file is missing from the CD.
I tried over and over and over to install any and all of these games on 2 separate computers (1 with Windows XP and 1 with Windows 7). No luck!!! I even tried to install going through windows explorer. When doing that, the disc would just spin and spin.
It seems this must be a VERY common problem. You would think the company would have tested the disc before mass producing!!! Bad business.
UPDATED REVIEW 04-17-09: I've finally heard back from the manufacturer. They tell me this game is NOT Windows Vista compatible.
ORIGINAL REVIEW 04-14-09:
This release appears to be defective. The PC DVD has several issues I've noticed so far:
1) From the screen that automatically launches when you insert the DVD, you can click into submenus for each game - however, clicking "Install" for all three of the titles has no effect. The only way I could get them to install was to launch the installer for each game individually by navigating to the proper folders on the DVD using Windows Explorer.
2) The cut scenes (the video sequences) for Evil Under The Sun are missing. The characters reference seeing something, the screen goes black, then fades back. No cut scene. How am I to sold a mystery if I don't get to see all of the content?
3) From the Evil Under The Sun main menu, clicking "Credits" has no effect.
My attempts to reach The Adventure Company (Dreamcatcher Interactive) technical support have been unsuccessful. [...].
