Halo 2 returns you to the role of the Master Chief - still humanity's best weapon against the Covenant. Their defeat at Halo was only temporary, and they are pursuing their goal - the complete obliteration of humankind - with renewed zeal. Human military forces are exhausted and unable to stave off the Covenant's rapid advance toward Earth.

Yes people. In my honest opinion it's much better than Halo 3. I played Halo 3 and beat it thinking it would show MC's face... it didn't.
Furthermore, Halo 3 was boring, and unimpressive. Although the soundtrack was amazing, Halo 2 is better in ALL aspects. The story is amazing, multiplayer is phenomenal, and if you don't have it already, I suggest you buy it this Christmas.

if you don't have xbox live, it is still a great game.... but xbox live is the best way to play.

Halo 2 improved over Halo with better controls, dual wielding, and a few new weapons and enemies. One should be prepared for a little confusion, you not only fight as the master chief, in some chapters you fight as an enemy called the arbiter. I found this somewhat confusing and did not really care for playing the arbiter, it seemed like I was betraying my side. While it is a fun game, there are others I like much better.
